Accreditation for First Edition of the Red Sea Film Festival is Now Open

Undersecretaries of GCC Health Ministries Hold Preparatory Meeting

Manamah, The Undersecretaries of the GCC Health Ministries held today the seventh preparatory meeting for the Committee of Ministers of Health in the GCC Countries.

The meeting is part of implementing and enhancing joint GCC action in the health sector.

The meeting, held in Manamah, discussed several issues of mutual interest, mainly following up on the implementation of the Supreme Council in its 41st session (Al-Ula, January 2021), and the contents of the final communique and the declaration pertaining to the health sector, including the accreditation of the Gulf general framework for the public health plan to prepare and respond during emergencies, accrediting the early warning system for the health sector, accrediting the establishment of the Gulf Center for Disease Control and Prevention, continuing global competitiveness requirements, enhancing strategic partnerships and developing joint action mechanisms.

The meeting also discussed the vision of the Secretariat General of GCC on joint action in the health sector after the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the reports prepared by the Secretariat General on the GCC health efforts in combating and curbing the spread of the pandemic.

Commerce Minister Participates in Meetings of GCC Commercial Cooperation Committee

Riyadh, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the meetings of the Commercial Cooperation Committee and Ministerial Standardization Affairs Committee in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of ministers of industry in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.

The meeting witnessed discussing a memorandum of the Secretariat General on the results of a study and assessment of commission affiliated with the Commercial Cooperation Committee, pan-GCC commerce flow and a memorandum on unified commercial laws.

They also discussed the issue of fake companies, e-commerce, the latest developments of the negotiation team with countries and blocs, in addition to initiatives to support business entrepreneurs, small- and medium-sized enterprises and other issues on the meeting agenda.

The ministers of commerce and industry also discussed cooperation in various vital fields, such as standardization.

They also highlighted the importance for imported and exported products to meet the proper technical conditions and conducting the smart evaluation procedures that aims at preserving the health of man and protecting the environment.
