Minister of Sports Congratulates Al-Shaibani after Climbing Mount Everest

Riyadh– Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, congratulated Badr Al-Shaibani, Saudi adventurer, after climbing Mount Everest in a new Saudi achievement, and reaching the highest peak in the world at an altitude of (8.848 m), pointing out to the high determination and ambition of Saudi youth towards achieving better achievements and records for their homeland at all levels.

For his part, Al-Shaibani valued Prince Abdulaziz Al-Faisal’s congratulations and great support for Saudi youth to achieve the best achievements and records for the country, praising his partners who played a prominent role in providing logistical support to him.

NDMC Closes the May 2022 Issuance under Saudi Arabian Government SAR-denominated Sukuk Program

Riyadh– The National Debt Management Center (NDMC) announced today the closure of May 2022 issuance under the Saudi Arabian Government SAR-denominated Sukuk Program. The issuance size was set at SAR 14.953 Bn (Fourteen billion and nine hundred fifty-three million Saudi Riyals).

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Sukuk issuance was divided into three tranches as follows: the first tranche has a size of SAR 10.055 Bn (Ten billion and fifty-five million Saudi Riyals) maturing in (2032); the second tranche has a size of SAR 2.184 Bn (Two billion and one hundred eighty-four million Saudi Riyals) maturing in (2037), and the third tranche has a size of SAR 2.715 Bn (Two billion and seven hundred fifteen million Saudi Riyals) maturing in (2049).

KSrelief Launches Voluntary Medical Camping for Cosmetics, Burns and Malformation Surgeries in Aden

Aden– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Sunday launched a voluntary medical campaign for cosmetics, burns and malformation surgeries in Aden with the participation of 18 volunteers from various specializations.

Since the beginning of the campaign, the KSrelief-affiliated voluntary medical team has inspected 135 cases and conducted 21 surgeries that were all successful.

Yemeni Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Dahhan expressed happiness for launching this noble humanitarian project that is generously funded by KSrelief, under which the team will be dealing with after-burn malformations and skin cases that require specialists.

For his part, Director of KSrelief in Aden Saleh Al-Thibani said that this project will benefit the needy patients that cannot afford the costs of cosmetics, burns and malformation surgeries and will provide necessary medicines.

HRC, OIC-IPHRC Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Jeddah– The Human Rights Commission (HRC) and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-IPHRC) signed here today a memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation in the field of human rights.

The MoU was co-signed by HRC Vice President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khayyal, and OIC-IPHRC’s representative Dr. Haji Asikul, during the 19th Regular Session of the OIC-IPHRC.

The memorandum aims to enhance technical cooperation between the two sides.

GCC Secretary General Meets with CEO of Africa Finance Corporation at Davos

Davos– Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf met here today with CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation Samaila Zubairu on the sidelines of the World Economic Conference in Davos, Switzerland.

During the meeting, they reviewed ways of cooperation between the two sides and discussed a number of issues of common interest.

Saudi Arabia’s Attorney General Holds Meeting with Chairs of Eurojust Counter-Terrorism, Economic Crimes Teams in The Hague

The Hague– On the sidelines of his visit to the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) in The Hague, the Attorney General Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has met with Hilde Vandevoorde, Chair of the Eurojust Counter-Terrorism Team and Lilja Limingoja, Chair of the Economic Crimes Team.

The Eurojust made a presentation on its role in combating the crimes of terrorism and money laundering, and on the effects and criminal phenomena that threaten the security and safety of individuals and societies, especially in light of the remarkable development in the methods of perpetration that the world is witnessing recently.

Meanwhile, the International Cooperation Prosecution at the Saudi Public Prosecution gave a presentation on what the regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia entrust in protecting individuals and entities from the crimes of terrorism and money laundering, the effective legal procedures carried out by the competent authorities, including the Public Prosecution in tracking funds and their sources, and international cooperation procedures in the pursuit of perpetrators, detection and exchange crime evidence.

Also, the Attorney General Sheikh Saud Al-Mujib drew attention to the legislations and procedures approved and accomplished by the Kingdom related to combating money laundering and terrorist financing, with the aim of reducing the risks associated with these crimes.
