Al-Jadaan Discusses Current Financial and Economic Developments with Yemeni Finance Minister and Governor of Central Bank of Yemen

Riyadh– Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan met here today with Minister of Finance of Yemen Salem Salih bin Brik, and Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmed bin Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Maabq, with the attendance of Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and the Supervisor General of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

During the meeting, they discussed the current economic and financial developments in the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the Yemeni side.

Advisor at the Royal Court Arrives in Djibouti

Djibouti– Advisor at the Royal Court Ahmed Qattan arrived today in Djibouti for an official visit, during which he will visit the Intergovernmental Authority on Development “IGAD”.

At Djibouti International Airport, Qattan and the accompanying delegation were received by senior IGAD officials.

The Royal Court Advisor said that his visit aims to boost the Kingdom’s relations with the African countries.

HRSD Minister Delivers GCC Joint-Statement during International Labour Conference in Geneva

Geneva– Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi delivered a joint-statement on behalf of the GCC, during the plenary session of the International Labour Conference’s 110th Session in Geneva on 6 June 2022.

During the session, he affirmed that the world today is in a dire need for more attention to the economic and social state, especially for labour workers, pointing out that the world is faced with many political, economical and environmental issues.

Eng. Al-Rajhi disclosed that these challenges affect us all, but less developed countries suffer more, and so the global responsibility of bigger countries is even greater, underlining the importance of working even harder and using all the experience gained and data collected to activate international cooperation and draw from the successful experiences.

He explained that such cooperation requires continuous development of the institutional infrastructure of social and economical policies to achieve effective management of labour markets. In addition, he stressed the need to monitor developments and standards related to workers and human rights, and the activation of social justice principles.

Eng. AlRajhi also addressed the importance of social protection in any process of productivity improvement in economy structures of less developed countries, especially in a world recovering from COVID-19. He assured that GGC countries have taken many steps to improve their economy, and have implemented multiple recovery programs to bounce back from the pandemic’s negative impact.

He concluded that these steps and programs proved to be successful in reaching a quick economical recovery, that supports the stability of labour markets and ensures the rights of labour force, and protects them from job loss as well as creates decent job opportunities. GCC countries also implemented multiple recovery programs to strengthen cooperation and foster sustainable development in less developed countries, and achieve sustainable strategic partnerships.

Digital Cooperation Organization Participates in World Telecommunication Development Conference in Rwanda

Riyadh, June 6, 2022, SPA — A delegation of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) has participated in the Partner2Connect event held as part of the World Telecommunication Development Conference organized by the International Telecommunication Union in Kigali, Rwanda.

The organization’s attendance to the conference is in conjunction with the inaugurating visit of its delegates to Rwanda, where DCO Secretary General Dima Al-Yahya will meet with the Rwandan leaders of the public and private sectors participating in the digital transformation agenda in Rwanda.

The delegates are also scheduled to meet with representatives of the civil society represented by youth and women in the Rwandan society to overcome obstacles through DCO’s endeavors to ensure digital prosperity for all.

KSrelief Concludes Third Voluntary Training Program in Mukalla

Hadramout– The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded the third voluntary training program in Mukalla, Hadhramaut Governorate, Yemen, in cooperation with the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority.

During the program, training courses were provided, including carpentry and decoration, benefiting 80 people, computer maintenance, benefiting 83 people, maritime rescue, benefiting 16 divers chosen by coast guard employees and volunteers, and first aid and psychological counseling, benefiting 821 people of both sexes.

This comes as an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s noble humanitarian role by standing with the Yemeni people in various fields and to alleviating their suffering as a result of the humanitarian crisis they are going through.

First Batch of Beneficiaries of “Makkah Route Initiative” from Bangladesh Arrives in the Kingdom

Jeddah– The first batch of pilgrims who benefited from the “Makkah Route Initiative” from Bangladesh arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah today, who departed from the initiative’s terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Upon arrival, the pilgrims were received by Director General of Passports (Jawazat) and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Makkah Route Initiative Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Yahya, Consul General of Bangladesh in Jeddah Muhammad Nazmul Hoque, and several representatives of the relevant agencies.

The Makkah Route Initiative, which is launched in Bangladesh this year 1443 for the second year after 1440, in addition to Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Morocco, is one of the initiatives of the “ Pilgrim Experience Program, which is under the Kingdom Vision 2030.

Chief of General Staff Meets with Deputy Commander of the US Central Command

Riyadh– Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili met here today with the Deputy Commander of the US Central Command, Vice Admiral James Malloy.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several issues of mutual interest, and ways to enhance cooperation between the Saudi and the US naval forces, to ensure and achieve security and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials.

Libya Condemns Indian-based Statements Insulting the Prophet

Tripoli, Libya– Libya strongly condemned statements issued by the spokesperson for the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party who insulted Islam and Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him.

In a statement, the foreign ministry of the Libyan National Unity government called for rejection of all practices and behaviors that call for violence and hatred.
