/Jeddah Security and Development Summit/ Energy Minister visits “KSA Green Transition Journey Exhibition” held on sidelines of Jeddah Security and Development Summit

Jeddah, July 15, 2022, SPA– Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, has visited “ KSA Green Transition Journey Exhibition” held on the sidelines of Jeddah Security and Development Summit, in the presence of Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Acting Minister of Media, where Prince Abdulaziz toured the latest preparations for the launch of the exhibition.

The exhibition focuses on the role of Saudi leadership in promoting green transformation within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, starting with the necessary requirements and allocating sufficient investments, which represent a strategy that includes all development policies of the Kingdom, as the Kingdom occupies advanced positions in global indicators of environmental performance, which contributed to boosting its transformation into a center that leads the world in addressing the negative aspects of climate change.

The exhibition, which covers a total area of about 700 square meters, is held in the lobby of the main meeting room in the Convention Center of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah and includes seven sections, each of which focuses on highlighting one of the stages of transformation.

The exhibition visitors will get first-hand enlightenment on the Kingdom’s ” Saudi Green” and “Middle East Green” initiatives and their objectives, which were launched by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense and the subsequent initiatives, and the volume of investments in these two initiatives.

The exhibition also illustrates the circular carbon economy approach, which the Kingdom has adopted, and highlights the role and importance of the Kingdom as a responsible and reliable global supplier of energy supplies, and its efforts in conducting studies and research in various fields of the energy industry to enhance and develop its capabilities.

It will also shed the light on the most important features of the Kingdom’s orientation towards sustainability, including diversifying the resources of the national economy, developing strategic economic sectors, creating quality jobs, and attracting and encouraging national and foreign investments in 13 strategic economic sectors, including 54 companies, as the volume of targeted investments is expected at around SR1 trillion by 2025.

The exhibition utilizes various means of audio, visual, electronic, and interactive displays, in addition to showcasing “electric cars and others” with the deployment of Saudi male and female ushers to receive visitors and provide them with a full explanation of the exhibition and its topics.

Saudi Arabia Takes Part in the General Assembly Meetings of the World Intellectual Property

Geneva– Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Swelem, Executive President of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, led Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the 63rd meeting of the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva which is held through July 22, 2022.

Addressing the meeting, Al-Swelem gave an account on the developments of the issue of intellectual property in the Kingdom, citing that Saudi Arabia joined Nirobi treaty to bring to 12 the number of WIPO copyright treaties that Saudi Arabia has joined.

Madinah — The International Exhibition and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization in Madinah opened its doors to receive visitors and pilgrims after they performed this year’s Hajj rituals with ease, tranquility, and safety, offering them an opportunity to tour the various sections and halls of the exhibition, which is located adjacent to the southern squares of the Prophet’s Holy Mosque.

The museum presents an introduction to the Prophet, Peace be upon him, his noble manners, his great morals, and the tolerant Sharia, through the latest means of displays and techniques, in all international languages to spread the message of mercy, love, moderation, justice, and tolerance.

Gathering of worshippers perform their first Jumaa prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madina after Hajj

Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia– In easiness and tranquility, gatherings of worshippers today performed their first Jumaa prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah after having successfully done their Hajj in Makkah and the sacred shrines.

To this effect, the General Presidency for the Prophet’s Affairs has equipped the place with every facility needed to make the assembly another great success.

Jeddah Security and Development Summit/ Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques meets President of United States of America

Jeddah– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, met with President Joseph Biden of the United States of America at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah today.

The King welcomed the President and the accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, they reviewed the historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America and ways to strengthen them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State, Cabinet’s Member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban,.

On the American side, it was attended by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

Jeddah Security and Development Summit/ President of United States of America arrives in Jeddah

Jeddah– At the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President Joseph Biden of the United States of America arrived in Jeddah today on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during which he will meet with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister.

The President was received at the Royal Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region, and Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America.

The President was also received by the Chargé d’Affairs of the United States Embassy in the Kingdom Martina Strong, and the United States Consul General in Jeddah Faris Asad.

KSrelief Pumps 735,000 Liters of Water to IDP Camps in Yemeni Governorate of Hodeida in A Week

Hodeida– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has continued the implementation of the water supply and environmental sanitation project for the camps of the internally displaced people (IDPs) at Al-Khoukha directorate in Yemen’s Al-Hodeida governorate.

During the period from 22 to 28 June 2022, about 367,500 liters of water suitable for domestic use and 367,500 liters of water suitable for tanks were pumped.

About 28 waste removal operations from the IDP camps were carried out, in addition to 23 operations to maintain tank bases, benefiting 9,800 people.

Minister of Education Uderscores the Importance of Cooperation with the United States in the fields of Public, Graduate, Scientific Research and Innovation

Jeddah– Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh has uderscored the importance of educational cooperation and partnership with the United States of America in the fields of public, graduate, post-graduate, scientific research and innovation within achieving the targets of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030 and the objectives of the sustainable development.

In this regard, the minister cited that there are currently 20,639 Saudi students and trainees studying in US universities and educational foundations.

The number of Saudi female and male graduates from US educational institutions over the last 17 years amounted to more than 167,729, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh reported, noting the importance of scholarship program aiming to qualify its graduates to compete in the labor local and international market within the strategy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program which was launched by HRH the Crown Prince.

The minister also pointed out that Saudi Arabia has reached several MoUs on scientific and research cooperation between Saudi universities and their US counterparts in support of scientific research and innovation, citing that Saudi students studying in the US concentrate on engineering, health, administration, information technology, English language and law.

Not only that, but, according to the Kingdom vision 2030, the ministry underscores the importance of educational investment calling for US universities to open branches in the Kingdom and encourage US investors to do business in public and graduate education in Saudi Arabia, he said.

Al Al-Sheikh added that Saudi Arabia grants 318 schorships for US students to study in the Kingdom. Currently, there are more than 167 female and male US students in the Kingdom, he concluded, citing that 289 agreements between the two parties have been signed, out of them 125 on scientific and research cooperation, 38 MoU reached as well as six executive training programs and 120 service contracts.
