Kaaba Kiswah (Cloth) to be Replaced next Saturday

Makkah– The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has stated that a team of 166 technicians and craftsmen will handle the replacement process of the Kaaba Kiswah (cloth) next Saturday, per the annual custom.

The old Kiawah will be replaced by a new one, under the supervision of the President General of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais.

Dr. Al-Sudais stressed the wise leadership’s interest in the holy Kaaba, the qiblah of Muslims, and its keenness to harness all capabilities in the service of Islam and Muslims.

For his part, The Under-Secretary-General for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque Dr. Saad bin Mohammed Al-Muhaimid, said that around 200 craftsmen and admins work in King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaabah Kiswah, adding that the departments of the complex include the laundry and automatic weaving department, the manual weaving department, the printing department, the belt department and the gold thread department, the Kiswah sewing and assembling section, which includes the largest computerized sewing machine in the world in terms of length, with a length of 16 meters. He added that the manufacturing of the Kiawah consumes about 670 kilograms of raw silk, dyed in black inside the complex, 120 kgs of gold threads, and 100 kgs of silver threads.

Based on official information, the source confirmed that the previously announced draft remains under preparation and is currently undergoing legislative review.

The source also emphasized the necessity of ensuring the accuracy of shared information to avoid spreading rumors and incorrect information through unofficial accounts, calling on everyone to cooperate in advancing a healthy judicial and legal culture.

Diriyah Gate Development Authority Signs Cooperation Agreement with Saudi Post

Riyadh– The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and the Saudi Post today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore ways to develop and promote strategic cooperation between the two entities. This MoU will help enhance the level of joint planning and project delivery, increase efficiency in government spending, and develop stronger collaboration in the areas of data exchange, system integration, and database sharing.

The MoU was signed by President of the Saudi Post Eng. Anef Abanomi and Group Chief Executive Officer of DGDA Jerry Inzerillo. The agreement will open the doors for both parties to exchange expertise, geolocation data, and geographic information databases and services. It will also help forge and strengthen future strategic partnerships between DGDA and Saudi Post.

Inzerillo underlined the principles that provide the framework for cooperation between the two sides, including joint innovation initiatives and other future endeavors. He said that the collaboration is in line with DGDA’s ongoing efforts to provide added value to Diriyah’s residents through improved services and facilities while also ensuring an ideal touristic and cultural environment.

Eng. Abanomi also highlighted the importance of mapping the physical addresses in Diriyah and the positive impact this will have on the city’s residential, commercial, and business ecosystem, adding that the collaboration includes providing postal solutions within DGDA’s jurisdiction to serve citizens and foreign residents as well as technical collaboration for joint projects such as planning, and zoning.

Shura Speaker Receives Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan

Riyadh– Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received, in Riyadh today, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furqat Sidiqov, and the accompanying delegation, on the sideline of his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, Al-Sheikh underlined the historic and strong relations between the two countries, looking forward to strengthening and developing them in various fields, especially the parliamentary cooperation between the Shura Council and the Uzbek Parliament.

The Speaker gave an overview of the working mechanism of the Shura Council and the roles played by the parliamentary friendship committees with counterpart parliaments, stressing the importance of activating the roles of the parliamentary friendship committees in the Shura Council and the Uzbek Parliament and increasing bilateral meetings and visits.

The Uzbek official said the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, makes great efforts at the regional and international levels in combating terrorism and extremism and bringing peace to the Middle East and the world at large, noting that the Kingdom’s vision 2030, is an example to follow and will contribute to the renaissance of the entire Islamic world.

He also reiterated his country’s support for Saudi Arabia’s hosting of “Expo 2030”.

Jordanian Prime Minister Meets with Egyptian Head of Supreme Council for Media Regulation

Amman– Jordanian Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh met with today Egyptian Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr.

During the meeting, they discussed the strategic relationship and cooperation between Jordan and Egypt, and stressed the important role played by the media in the two countries in strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.

Minister of Energy Meets with Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy

Riyadh– Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy met here today with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand, Supattanapong Punmeechaow, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the fields of energy, including: petroleum refining, renewable energy and clean hydrogen, in addition to the circular carbon economy techniques to reduce the effects of emissions, in order to achieve their common interests.

They also discussed the opportunities available in the Kingdom of Thailand in the fields of energy and petrochemicals, in addition to ways of cooperation in the fields of research, development, innovation and artificial intelligence in the energy sector.

Egyptian and Somali Presidents Discuss Developments in Horn of Africa

Cairo– Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi held talks with his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is currently visiting Cairo, on the overall regional situation in the Horn of Africa, developments in the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam file and aspects of existing cooperation between the two countries.

During a press conference after the talks, President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s support for efforts to promote peace and security in Somalia and to eradicate terrorism to achieve the desired development for the Somali people.
