Saudi Red Crescent Implements First International Flight to Evacuate a Citizen from Georgia

Riyadh– The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) yesterday carried out its first international flight, evacuating a female citizen suffering from a health condition in Georgia, after reactivating the air ambulance service, in coordination with the Health Ministry.

The specialized medical evacuation team provided health care during the flight, which was the first international flight to evacuate sick or injured citizens, ensure their access to health facilities and provide them with the best medical care.

The air ambulance service comes within the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the health sector transformation program by enhancing the quality of ambulance services. Through its air ambulance services, SRCA started delivering services to 200 patients and transferred them to specialized medical facilities under the supervision of a specialized ambulance team.

Through this service, the Saudi ed Crescent Authority seeks to enhance the quality of ambulance services and activate the principle of “save lives” through its initiatives at the national and international levels.

KSrelief Supervisor General meets Omani Siamese twins Safa and Marwa, 15 years after their separation procedure

Riyadh, August 18, 2022, SPA– Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, met at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh yesterday, the Omani Siamese twins Safa and Marwa Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Jardani and their parents, who underwent successful surgery to separate adhesions in the skull, brain membrane and intervening veins at King Abdulaziz Medical City in the National Guard in Riyadh in 2007.

Dr. Al Rabeeah stressed that the high international status reached by the Saudi program for separating conjoined twins would not have been realized without the unlimited support and attention of the wise leadership, adding that the Kingdom has become specialized in performing complex surgical operations due to its human capabilities and advanced technology that made it a destination for treatment from inside or outside the Kingdom. Dr. Al Rabeeah noted that the program reflects the Kingdom’s humanitarian responsibility to relieve human suffering.

The parents of the Omani twins expressed their appreciation to the Kingdom’s government and the Saudi people for harnessing the necessary efforts to conduct the separation and treatment of their two children, stressing that this gesture had a great impact on their lives.

SWCC Organizes Future of Desalination International Conference “FDIConf 2022” in Riyadh Next month

Riyadh– Riyadh will host the Future of Desalination International Conference (FDIConf 2022), the first global gathering of its kind that explores the prospects and solutions for the future of water in the world to develop the industry and research and propose sustainable solutions, under the theme “desalination in space”, organized by the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) from 11- 13 September, with the participation by policymakers, innovators, financiers, marketers, operators, contractors, developers, and technology suppliers from around the world.

The conference will see the launch of a set of initiatives and qualitative alliances to enhance water desalination infrastructure during the next decade, namely the World Bank initiative to support investment plans in regulating water desalination, discuss new solutions to find cost-saving opportunities, and invest in unconventional water resources.

This comes in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which inspires the world with its responsible approach to finding modern solutions for energy and climate to participate in efforts to build a sustainable future that reaches zero neutrality by 2060 while committed to accelerating the transition of ideas from innovation in the lab to commercial implementation.

The conference will draw a roadmap for the development of the unconventional water desalination industry until 2030, by examining opportunities to reduce carbon emissions by 50%, develop revenues in the industry, and control the cost of water desalination to reach the world record price of (0.32) dollars per cubic meter.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Condoles President of Algeria on Wildfire Victims

Jeddah– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has sent a cable of utmost condolences and sympathies to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on the victims of the wildfire raging in the forests of a number of provinces, resulted in the killing and injuring of a number of people.

In his cable, the King expressed his profound sorrow and sincere sympathy to the Algerian President and families of the deceased, wishing the injured a speedy recovery and appealing to Allah Almighty to preserve the President and people of Algeria against any harm.

Mawhiba celebrates end of the Gifted Arab Initiative

Riyadh– The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) has organized the closing ceremony of the first edition of its Gifted Arab Initiative 2021, and Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program 2022, in the presence of ambassadors and diplomats from Arab countries.

The ceremony celebrated the 205 students from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, Libya, Tunisia, and Jordan who completed the initiative.

The students finished programs hosted at King Saud University and Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University, where they spent a month learning in top tier of various sciences, engineering, and scientific research.

Saudi Bowling Team Wins Silver Medal in Arab Championships in Cairo

Cairo– The Saudi bowling team (men) won today the silver medal in the Tenth Arab Bowling Championships, being hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt during the period from 11 to 19 August, 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the teams of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, UAE, Oman, Yemen, and Egypt are participating in the Tenth Arab Championship for Men and the Sixth for Women.

OIC Expresses Solidarity with Algeria over Forest Fires

Jeddah– The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its full solidarity with the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in these difficult circumstances as a result of the forest fires.

OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the people and government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria over the fire and to the families of the victims.

The General Secretariat reiterated its support for Algeria and expressed its confidence in the ability of the Algerian leadership to overcome this crisis.

KSrelief Launches Food Security Support Project for Syrian and Palestinian Refugees and Host Community in Jordan

Amman– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in cooperation with the Jordanian National Alliance to Combat Hunger and Malnutrition (Najma), launched a project to support the food security for Syrian and Palestinian refugees outside the camps and the host community in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the year 2022.

The project comes within the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, with the aim of helping refugee families and the most needy people in the host community, and contributing to improving their living conditions.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Patronizes Closing Ceremony to Honor Winners of Grand Competition for Memorizing Holy Quran in Thailand

Bangkok– Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh patronized the closing ceremony to honor the winners of the grand competition for the memorization of the Holy Quran in the Kingdom of Thailand, which was organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the office of Sheikh Al Islam and the Central Islamic Council in Bangkok, with participation of more than 3,000 male and female contestants.

In his speech which was delivered via video conference at the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, is keen to serve Islam and Muslims, and to take care of the Holy Quran to motivate Muslims all over the world to memorize it.

During the ceremony, the winners of the competition in its four branches were honored with prizes of SAR 500,000.
