UAE Strongly Condemns Herat Mosque Blast in Afghanistan

Abu-Dhabi, The UAE strongly condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in Herat, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilising security and stability in contravention of human values and principles.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the Afghan people and families of the victims of this heinous crime, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Republic of Cape Verde supports Saudi Arabia’s request to host World Expo 2030

Praia, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and National Integration of the Republic of Cape Verde, Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, announced his country’s support for the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host Expo 2030.

In a press conference following his meeting here today with Saudi Advisor at the Royal Court Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan, Minister Soares expressed his country’s support for the Kingdom to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh, and its welcome to hold the two summits “the first Saudi-African Summit and the Fifth Arab-African Summit”.

For his part, Advisor Qattan expressed the Saudi Government’s thanks and appreciation for this support which emanates from the strong relations between the two countries.

ISESCO & Islamic Universities Union Launch My Phd Thesis in 1000 Words Prize

Rabat, Rabat-based Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) today announced in cooperation with the Islamic Universities Union the launch of nominations to My Ph-d Thesis in 1000 Words prize which will last until the 30th of September 2022, an announcement issued here said.

According to the announcement, the first of its kind prize is open for Ph-d finalists in Islamic world universities as well as those who have just finished editing their presentations.

A short-list of ten nominees will be chosen to compete for the three top prizes on November 7, 2022, said the report.

President of Cape Verde receives Saudi Advisor Ahmed Qattan

Praia, President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Jose Maria Neves, received Saudi Advisor at the Royal Court Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan in the capital Praia today.

During the meeting, the Advisor conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and their wishes to the government and people of Cape Verde further progress and prosperity. For his part, the President sent his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH Crown Prince, the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the reception, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to support and develop them in various fields, and all regional and international situations of common interest.

The President expressed his country’s full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s request to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh, meanwhile the Advisor expressed the Saudi Government’s thanks and appreciation for this support.

Producing more than 26,660 tons of Fig, Saudi Arabia Achieves 107 % Self-sufficiency in the Product

Riyadh, The ministry of environment, water and agriculture disclosed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is producing more than 26,660 tons of fig annually, achieving 1.7 % self-sufficiency in the product, a report issued here said today.

The report said that the ministry is working to promote a sustainable agricultural rural development program by using and exploiting the opportunities available in different parts of the country to produce and market fig according to the natural resources and agricultural abilities available in the country.

Saudi national volleyball team loses to Kyrgyzstan in Asian Challenge Cup final

Riyadh, Saudi volleyball team lost the Asian Volleyball Challenge Cup title after losing today to Kyrgyzstan 3-2. The Saudi “Greens” failed to take advantage of their advancing in the first two sets 31/29, and 25/20, as their performance declined in the third and fourth sets 25/23, 25 /22. The Saudi team players did not succeed in returning to the match.

In the decisive set, the Kyrgyz players managed to advance from the beginning of the match, to settle the final score of 15-11 thus winning the Asian Challenge Cup title.

Six Ambassadors Visit Saudi International Falcons and Hunting Exhibition

Dhahran, Six ambassadors of the friendly and brotherly countries to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited today Saudi International Falcons and Hunting Exhibition being organized by Saudi Falcons Club at its headquarters in Mulham, north of Riyadh.

The ambassadors included Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Kingdom Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif Al Nahyan; Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah; Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Kingdom Dr. Mohammed Ali Boghazi; Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom Akram Karimi; Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Jorge Hevia and Ambassador of South Africa to the Kingdom Mogobo David Magabe.

The ambassadors toured the exhibition including more than 25 pavilions, and were briefed on the club’s efforts in gathering everything related to the heritage of falconry, trips and hunting in one place, with the aim of preserving the Saudi cultural heritage and raising awareness, environmental sustainability, identity and hobby.

The ambassadors were also briefed on the area designated for falcon production farms, where the international auction of falcon production farms will be held in conjunction with the exhibition, with the participation of more than 40 leading farms from more than 17 countries, and will continue until September 3.

They were introduced to the arms pavilion, which includes 7 Saudi companies representing more than 55 international brands, as well as Shaleel Digital Museum, the Falconer Pavilion, the pavilions of road trip tools and modified cars, the local market, and many interesting events, in addition to exhibition competitions in photography, wild cooking and plastic arts.

Magnitude 5.8 Earthquake Strikes Greek Island of Crete

Athens, An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 Richter scale struck Greek island of Crete on Saturday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said, according to Reuters.

The quake’s epicenter was Crete and was 2 km (1.2 miles) below the earth’s surface.

There were no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake.
