Minister of Hajj and Umrah Meets with Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Concludes his Visit to Egypt

Cairo, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah has met in Cairo with the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa, at the conclusion of his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdelfattah bin Suleiman Mashat, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, and a number of officials.

During the meeting, they reviewed the existing bilateral cooperation relations and the services provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to pilgrims.

The meeting comes within the two-day official visit of the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, as an extension of the efforts exerted to facilitate the arrival of pilgrims from all over the world, through various options for services and multiple solutions of visas, in cooperation and partnership with the relevant ministries in the two countries.

CEO of General Commission for Audiovisual Media Participates in CEO Women Conference in Egypt

Cairo, CEO of General Commission for Audiovisual Media Esra Assery stressed the importance of the role of women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their contribution to the process of realizing the targets of the Saudi Vision 2030, which led to a progress in the women’s share indicators in the labor market out of the total workforce to 38% and jumped on the World Bank’s Women, Business and Law by 80 points out of 100 over the past two years.

During her participation in the CEO Women Conference, which was held in Egypt under the patronage of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Assery noted that such pioneering conferences at the level of the Middle East have an important role in looking for solutions and opportunities and contribute to exchanging expertise and experiments and overcoming obstacles and challenges that face the present and future of Arab and African women to enhance their roles in the development of their countries.

She also noted that Saudi women assume several leadership posts in many sectors and have greatly contributed to the Saudi development process, pointing out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is full of women efficiencies in the media sector, who represented their country at the best form in the fields of press, radio and television.

The CEO noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also granted women all means of empowerment and prepared enabling policies and regulations, saying: “It is important for us as a commission regulating the sector to seek, with our partners, to guarantee the best application of these regulations and measuring the impact, efficiency, continuous development and cooperation with journalists commission and media association to grant women a bigger opportunity for representation and membership.”

She noted that the commission works with partners in the media sector through two courses, the first is related to improving the stereotype of women in the media content through content constraints derived from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s media policy and the second is concerned with finding several jobs for women at all levels of media.

The CEO suggested exerting more efforts to show women in non-stereotype positions, such as calling on public, private and third sectors to highlight successful images of women working in all fields.

The conference, which included five sessions, aimed at enhancing the entrepreneur status that women reached in various economic and investment sectors and encouraging them to excel in all fields.

SPA President Meets with AFP Bureau Chief in Gulf

Riyadh, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) President Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran at his office in Riyadh has received AFP Bureau Chief in the Gulf Talek Harris and his accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting reviewed issues related to news exchange, training and discussing cooperation aspects between the two agencies in a way that contributes to developing their services and benefiting from their expertise.

Following the meeting, Harris and the delegates toured various administrations and section of SPA and listened to a briefing about the mechanism of preparing and publishing news and how to deal with news and reports arriving from various sources from inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and broadcasting them in several languages through SPA website and social media outlets.

Saudi Health Minister Meets with his Arab States’ Counterparts to Promote Health Integration and Transfer Experience

Cairo, Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel met here yesterday with a number of Arab States’ Ministers of Health on the sidelines of the meeting of World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, held from 11th to 13th of October.

The Ministers of Health who represented three Arab states were Dr. Jalila Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari of Jordan, and Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim of Sudan.

Those meetings dealt with issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the three countries in the medical field, where Al-Jalajel presented the Ministry of Health’s experience in dealing with medical emergencies during the Corona Virus (COVID 19), and the results that can be shared with the Arab countries.

Riyadh, The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Snapchat application have launched a platform to enhance the role of technology in mental health through important events and tools to limit bullying and enhance positivity and optimism, where Snap Inc. launched “Here For You” platform to support the mental health as part of the Snapchat application in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day.

“Here For You” platform provides a preemptive support on Snapchat users who might suffer from mental or emotional crises or those who want to know more about these problems and how to help their friends who suffer from these problems.

Users can search common terms related to mental health problems through “Here For You” platform on the application to provide them with resources and articles that have been chosen by mental health experts who enjoy high levels of credibility and efficiency.

President of Human Rights Commission Meets with Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile

Riyadh, President of Human Rights Commission Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri met here today with Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile Ximena Fuentes, and her accompanying delegation, as part of her current visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the President of Human Rights Commission reviewed the Kingdom of Saudi Aabia’s efforts, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in protecting and promoting the human rights.

The two sides also discussed issues of common interest, aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights and ways to enhance and develop them.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Nahhas reviewed the Shura Council’s work and its roles, stressing the importance of working to enhance the joint bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Chile in various fields, especially with regard to parliamentary work between the Shura Council and the Chilean Parliament.

For her part, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile expressed her thanks for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing the need to increase the communication between the two countries in various fields.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of common issues between the two countries in all fields and ways of enhancing and developing them, especially in the parliamentary field between the Shura Council and the Chilean Parliament.

Saudi Arabia and Oman Activate their Strategic Partnership in Field of Technology by Signing Agreements between Leading Technology Companies

Riyadh, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman signed today joint agreements between the two private sectors in the two brotherly countries, in order to activate the partnership and open the technical markets between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.

The agreements covered areas of cooperation in the cloud computing, the digital government services, the e-commerce and delivery applications.

The agreements were signed in the presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Information and Communication Technologies Group “ITHCA Group” Kamil Al Said.

The meeting was chaired by Director of the Registration and Preservation Department at the Heritage Commission Dr. Nayef Al-Qanour, and attended by of all members of the committee from the GCC countries.

Riyadh Mayor Attends Reception Party of Embassy of Spain on National Day

Riyadh, On behalf of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh region, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Aiyaf, the Mayor of Riyadh region attended the reception party held here this evening by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain on the occasion of its country’s National Day.

Saudi Arabia stresses OPEC+ Group’s pivotal role in achieve oil market’s balance, stability

Jeddah, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet’s session held on Tuesday afternoon at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi said that the Cabinet touched upon the outcomes of the 33rd OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting, noting the pivotal role played by OPEC+ group in achieving balance and stability in the global oil markets, thus supporting the global economy.

The Cabinet stated that Riyadh’s hosting of a regional office of Airports Council International Asia-Pacific reflects Saudi Arabia’s progress in the aviation sector globally in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 concerning attracting international companies and organizations to establish their headquarters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The session also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Arabia Financial Investigation Unit at the Presidency of the State Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Money Laundering Combating Unit (MLCU) in Egypt regarding cooperation on exchanging financial investigation related to money laundering and crimes related to money laundering and financing extremism.

The President of the Republic met with PM Mikati and Minister Bou habib.

 They discussed the latest developments in the file of the demarcation of the southern maritime borders and the Lebanese position on the vote at the United Nations on the Ukrainian crisis.

 PM Mikati: President Aoun will address the Lebanese on the beginning of a new phase.

 We hope that it will bring good things to Lebanon after we have passed through a difficult period

 President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received at Baabda Palace this afternoon, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib, in the presence of the Director General of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Antoine Choucair, after the President of the Republic received the final amended official version of the proposal submitted by the American mediator, Amos Hochstein.

Following the meeting PM Mikati made the following statement:

 “I met with His Excellency the President, the meeting was related to the recent understanding that took place regarding the maritime borders. The meeting was good and His Excellency and the working group conducted a final reading of the memorandum of understanding, and in light of it, I believe that His Excellency the President will address the Lebanese in this regard, marking a stage that will be, God willing, a good one, a word of thanks must be addressed first to the Lebanese working group that devoted themselves to studying this agreement, starting with Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Elias Bou Saab, and Major General Abbas Ibrahim, Professor Ali Hamdan and Professor Antoine Choucair.

Thank you also to the American administration, which made a great effort to reach this agreement, and a thank you to the French government and the French president in particular for what they have done in the last hours, with regard to Total and the success of this agreement.

Prime Minister Mikati added: “This morning a meeting took place with Total company in the Serail and we agreed to start the excavation process as soon as the memorandum of understanding is completed. Currently, a final reading is underway by the work team and there are some small details related to translation into Arabic.

His Excellency the President will address at the Lebanese tonight or tomorrow.

Appreciation for the good news to the Lebanese about the beginning of a new phase that we hope will bring good to Lebanon, after we have passed through a difficult phase. We must also thank the army and the Hydrography Department, which made a great effort with the Lebanese technical team to reach this result.”
