In a Phone Call, Nechirvan Barzani And Al-Sudani Discuss The Situation in Iraq

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, renewed today, Friday, his congratulations to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, on the occasion of assuming the duties of his position, hoping for success in his duties and joint cooperation with his government.

This came during a phone call this evening, Friday, according to a statement by the Kurdistan Region Presidency Office.

The statement stated; Al-Sudani reiterated his thanks and gratitude for Nechirvan Barzani’s call and his position, hoping that his government will be able to move the situation at this stage, in coordination and cooperation with the Kurdistan Region, for the better in all respects, and that the Iraqi forces and parties will work together for the sake of security and stability in the country, and that everyone is cooperating with each other.

The statement added that the two sides stressed the importance and necessity of cooperation and joint action between the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to solve the problems of Erbil-Baghdad on the basis of the constitution and within the framework of the federal system and the stability of the country, so it is necessary for everyone to work together in a responsible national spirit and taking into account the higher interests of the country, at the current stage and in the future.

Decaying bodies pulled out from under the rubble of old Mosul

Civil Defense teams pulled out decomposing bodies from under the rubble in Old Mosul.

A source in the Civil Defense told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA/ : “The bodies were found when the rubble was being removed in Al-Shaarin market area near the Al-Tahira Church in the old city of Mosul, and they were handed over to the Forensic Medicine Department.”

Many civilians were lost during the period of ISIS control over the city of Mosul in 2014, and in the liberation battles in 2017. From time to time, unidentified bodies of victims who were executed by ISIS terrorists or who fell during the bombing during the liberation operations appear from under the rubble, and their bodies were not found at the time, especially in the old Mosul.

Interior Minister: I will work to provide the best services to citizens and remove obstacles in front of them

The Ministry of Interior witnessed today a ceremony to receive the new minister, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, who began his duties today, Friday, at the Ministry’s headquarters. He was received by the former Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi, undersecretaries and leaders of the Ministry and a number of officers.

Minister Al-Shammari affirmed that he will work to provide the best services to citizens, overcome obstacles in front of them with the rest of the Ministry’s leaders, and complete the march in the Ministry of Interior.

He added that he will make more efforts in the security and service fields and permanent communication with the various segments of Iraqi society.

The government of Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani won the confidence of the House of Representatives on Thursday evening. Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, occupies the position of Minister of Interior in the new government formation.

Demonstrators Burn Tires and Block Road in Hilla in Protest Against Al-Sudani Government

Dozens of residents of Babylon Governorate demonstrated this Friday evening at the intersection of Al-Thawra Bridge, burning tires and blocking the road in protest against the beating of the representative of Emtidad Movement, Alaa Al-Rikabi and against the names of ministers in the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.

A reporter for NINA stated, “The demonstrators blocked the main streets near the Al-Thawra Bridge with burning tires and prevented the cars from passing in protest of what they called violence against the MP of Emtidad, Alaa Al-Rikabi.

He added that the demonstrations took place amid strict security measures and the deployment of anti-riot forces
