Al-Mandalawi, the Minister of Youth and the Governor of Basra in a field tour of the Olympic Port Stadium

Basra The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, and the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, visited the Olympic Port Stadium to see the preparations for the 25th Gulf Championship, which will be held in Basra early next year.

Al-Salihi discusses with the Foreign Minister the reality of Iraqi diplomacy

Kirkuk The head of the Turkmen bloc, the head of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Arshad al-Salhi, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein.

During the meeting, according to a statement by Al-Salhi’s office, they discussed the reality of Iraqi diplomacy, the importance of preserving the policy of balance that Iraq pursued in its foreign relations, and maintaining communication with the Human Rights Directorate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Al-Salhi stressed the importance of including all components in the departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and paving the way for competencies capable of managing international relations.

Deputy speaker stresses the importance of promoting national identity and the spirit of belonging among young people

A young man and a girl were shot dead, northeast of Baquba

Baquba A security source announced that a young man and a girl were killed in Muqdadiya district in Diyala Governorate, for unknown reasons.

He told the reporter of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that a person shot a young man and a girl while they were in a field for breeding calves in the village of Al-Naseem on the outskirts of Muqdadiya, northeast of Baquba, killing them both.

He added that the two bodies were taken to the forensic medicine department, while the security services opened an investigation to uncover the motives of the crime.

The Minister of Health discusses with the Chinese Ambassador to Iraq strengthening ways of joint health cooperation

Baghdad The Minister of Health, Dr. Salih Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei, today, Thursday, at the ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing health cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the People’s Republic of China in the field of exchanging experiences and training in the field of advanced surgical operations and public health.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador affirmed the continuation of cooperation and support for the efforts of the Ministry of Health in the health field.

The United Nations: Great efforts to establish a population census in Iraq in 2023

Baghdad The United Nations Population Fund in Iraq clarified today, Thursday, the latest developments in the census file in Iraq, and while confirming that great government efforts have been made to conduct it on time in 2023, it indicated that its implementation will be done electronically and depends on providing financial allocations in the 2023 budget.

“The preparations for the implementation of the population census began in 2019, as it was hoped that it would be implemented in 2020, but the Corona pandemic caused it to be postponed,” said Mahdi Al-Alaq, the Fund’s Chief Advisor, to the official News Agency.

He added, “The Central Statistical Organization and the Ministry of Planning are making great efforts to adhere to the new date in 2023,” explaining, “This issue is related to preparing an adequate budget, and with the launch of the new government and the new budget for 2023, appropriate allocations may be available for the purposes of implementing the general population census.”

He stressed that “the United Nations Population Fund is one of the sponsors of this large project, and we hope that it will be achieved on time,” explaining that “the budget for the general population census planned by the Central Statistical Organization is about $120 million, and there are some aspects of disbursement that took place during the past years, but still limited.

He explained that “the largest budget will be for technical means, because the census will move from the paper method to the tablet method, as well as data centers and means of communication will be via the Internet,” pointing out that “these requirements must be secured before proceeding with the implementation of the general population census.”

Jalil Al-Lami to / NINA /: The budget for next year must be built on a low oil price

Baghdad The Economist and Political Expert, Jalil Al-Lami, stressed the necessity of building the next year’s budget on a low oil price.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: The drop in oil prices in global markets will affect the draft Iraqi budget law for the year 2023.

He pointed to the need to reduce the estimated price of oil in the draft law, as estimating the price of oil for the next year is one of the pillars of building the general budget, which is built on the basis of selling oil.

He explained: The price of oil is not fixed, so it is important that it be reduced to less than its current price in the markets to build a new balanced budget.
