Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, presided over Easter Monday Mass service in Bkerke dedicated to France, in the presence of French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo. “We are praying today for the intention of the French people and their president,” Patriarch Al-Rahi said. The Patriarch continued: “Without interdependence and solidarity, there will be no world after today, nor a life of peace. Today’s economy does not save the world, but rather tears it apart, and peace is built with cooperation and brotherhood.” Al-Rahi stressed that “it is necessary for Lebanon to return to its normal position in the Arab world and on the international map.”

Saudi Arabia Receives Flag to Host FEI World Cup Finals 2024

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia received the flag of hosting the FEI World Cup Finals 2024, during the World Cup Finals held in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.

The FEI World Cup Finals 2024 will be held in April of next year, in Riyadh, marking the first time the event will be held in the Middle East.

Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, President of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, expressed his pride in hosting the championship by the Kingdom for the first time in the Middle East.

He stressed that hosting this global event is a result of unconditional support provided by the wise leadership and the follow-up of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Minister of Sports.

Guinea-Bissau President Arrives in Madinah

President Umaro Sissoco Embalo of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau arrived in Madinah today to perform prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque.

Upon his arrival at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, he was received by Deputy Governor of Madinah Region Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal and a number of senior officials.

Finance Minister Heads Saudi Arabia’s Delegation to IMF-World Bank 2023 Spring Meetings

Minister of Finance, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, is heading the Kingdom’s delegation in the upcoming 2023 World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings, as well as for the 2nd meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors.

The Saudi Delegation will also include the Governor of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Ayman Alsayari, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development Sultan Almarshad, the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf, the Deputy Minister for International Affairs Dr. Ryadh Alkhareif, the Deputy Minister for Macro-Fiscal Policies Thamer Aljared, and number of specialists from the Ministry of Finance, Saudi Central Bank, Saudi Fund for Development, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.

The Minister will attend the meetings of both the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) of the IMF and the Development Committee (DC) of the World Bank Group. The IMFC will discuss the global economy developments and advises the IMF on the direction of its work as well as the priorities of the coming period. The DC will discuss the Evolution of the World Bank Group, with the aim of better addressing the scale of development challenges.

In addition, the Minister and the Governor will attend the 2nd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting on 12-13 April 2023 under the Indian Presidency. The meeting will foster in-depth discussions on risks to the global economic recovery that have materialized since their February meeting

Two Holy Mosques Presidency Provides Quality Services for Over One Million Visitors and Umrah Performers in a Single Day

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque provided many of its qualitative services for Umrah performers and visitors of the Grand Mosque, whose total number reached 1,048,600 as of yesterday, it was reported today.

The services provided to Grand Mosque’s visitors included distributing 59,520 Zamzam water bottles and 10,700 booklets and pamphlets in addition to providing digital awareness to 115,000 individuals, field awareness to 170,000 beneficiaries and voluntary services to 240,896 persons.

As many as 6,188 persons also benefited from the Ramadan exhibition held at the Grand Mosque and 2,471 people were helped to perform Tawaf (circumambulation).

To ensure hygienic conditions, 130,000 litres of disinfectants, 32,450 litres of carpet sanitisers, and 33,425 litres of surface sterilization were consumed in addition to 5,825 litres used by robots for sterilisation. In addition, 5,975 litres of hand sanitisers and 5,765 litres of bio-care sterilisers were also provided.

Among the services provided were distributing 2,632 bracelets among younger visitors, providing social and humanitarian services to 81,601 beneficiaries, enabling 4,850 individuals to benefit from the elderly and people with disabilities, and giving spatial guidance in various languages to 101,679 beneficiaries as well as laying 35,000 carpets in the Grand Mosque.

President of FEI Describes Saudi Arabia’s Show Jumping Infrastructure as Great for Hosting 2024 World Cup

The President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Ingmar De Vos has commended the infrastructure of Show Jumping in Saudi Arabia after the Kingdom received the flag of hosting the 2024 FEI World Cup Finals for Jumping and Dressage on the final day of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup, which was held in the United State’s city of Omaha.

The President of the FEI expressed his optimism about the ability of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation to succeed in organizing and presenting a wonderful image of the sport of Show Jumping and Dressage in Saudi Arabia in light of its great capabilities and wonderful infrastructure.

During her speech at the ceremony of handing over the hosting flag to Saudi Arabia, CEO of Burlington Capital Group LLC and board member of Omaha Equestrian Foundation Lisa Roskens called on Show Jumping and Dressage’s fans to visit Riyadh next April to attend the 2024 FEI World Cup Finals for Jumping and Dressage.

In April 2024, the Kingdom is scheduled to host the largest equestrian event, on the grounds of the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Riyadh.

KSrelief Distributes Over 56 tons of Food Baskets in Borno, Nigeria

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 56.308 tons of food baskets on Friday in Borno, Nigeria, benefiting 5,736 people as part of the 2023 feeding basket project in Nigeria.

This is in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s relief and humanitarian projects, which are implemented through KSrelief to provide food security for needy people and countries worldwide

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Iftar Program in Bangladesh Sees 800 Attendees

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Bangladesh, held yesterday an Iftar banquet, as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Iftar Program.

As many as 800 university professors, teachers and students attended the Iftar banquet and extended their thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its people and its wise leadership.

KSrelief Distributes Over 39 Tons of Food Baskets to Syrian and Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 39 tons of food baskets on Saturday to Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as needy families in the host community of Akkar Governorate in the Lebanese Republic. This distribution is part of a larger project aimed at supporting food security in Lebanon throughout 2023.

This comes within the framework of the humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, to the refugees and the needy people in Lebanon.

Political Consultation Committee between Saudi Arabia and Algeria Holds its 1st Meeting in Riyadh

The first meeting of the Political Consultation Committee was held in Riyadh, at the level of senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

The Assistant Minister of State for African Countries Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, chaired the Saudi delegation, while the Algerian delegation was chaired by the Director General of Arab Countries Noureddine Khandoudi. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Abdullah Al-Busairi, the Saudi Ambassador to Algeria, Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Boghazi, the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and several officials from the foreign ministries of the two countries.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance the historical and strategic bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields. They also exchanged views on several regional and international issues of common concern.
