6 accused arrested, including members of a gang ‘robbing pharmacies’ in Al-Karkh

Baghdad: Today, Saturday, the Baghdad Operations Command arrested six accused, including members of a gang for ‘robbing pharmacies’ and others for trading and promoting narcotic substances on the Karkh side.

The command stated, in a statement, that the security units, through (the Eighth Federal Police Brigade, the Second Karkh Emergency Regiment, and the Anti-Crime Directorate), were able to arrest a ‘pharmacy theft’ gang consisting of three people who confessed during the initial investigation to stealing a number of pharmacies.’

It explained that two accused were arrested red-handed for promoting and using narcotic substances, and another, according to Article 4/2 of terrorism, was arrested and found in his possession an M4 rifle, in the areas of (Rahmaniyah Al-Jaafar, Chekuk),’ noting that ‘the arrested persons and the seized materials will be referred to the competent authorities to receive their just punishment according to the law.
