Muscat– The Sultanate of Oman welcomed the announcement of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to renew the truce in Yemen for additional two months.
In a statement today, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the response of the Yemeni parties to the UN efforts, hoping that this important step would create appropriate conditions for ending the war and reaching a comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Yemeni crisis.

Riyadh– The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Program of Communication with Yemeni Scholars, organized today a symposium entitled “Houthi Summer Camps and their Danger to the Present and Future of Generations”, as part of the program’s awareness activities implemented to warn of the danger of Houthi terrorist intrusive ideologies on Yemeni society and to immunize the Yemeni people and raise the public’s awareness on the importance of confronting and rejecting these ideas in all possible ways.
In the discussion papers, the scholars talked about the importance of integrating the roles between the state and the various components of society in confronting the Houthi threat that underlines the present and future of Yemen by implanting extremist ideas in the minds of generations.
Deputy Chairman of Yemen Scholars Commission Sheikh Ahmed Al-Muallem said “The Houthi summer camps are not educational centers, but rather camps to mobilize and charge students with toxic ideas that threaten society,” stressing the need to integrate efforts between the state, scholars, and all community entities to confront the Houthi project that aims to destroy the Yemeni society.
On the future danger of the Houthi summer camps, Dr. Kamal Al-Qatwi, a member of the Communication with Yemeni Scholars Program, said that the Houthi strategy is active in weakening religiosity as a historical sectarian strategy, noting that the Houthi summer camps aim to build a violent generation through centers that are meant for mobilization that create a savage, infidel generation to shed blood. He added that this Iranian project is distort the Islamic faith and history and that these generations pose a danger to the entire region.
For his part, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Ghaleb Al-Himyari, a member of the Program for Communication with Yemeni Scholars, called for the necessity of engaging in a comprehensive collective confrontation against the Houthi project, pointing out that the Houthi ideology has no acceptance in Yemeni society were it not for the brute force with which it shields against people. Citing the catastrophic effects of the Iranian project in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, Al-Hamiari called on scholars and preachers to return to Yemen to engage in advocacy and intellectual confrontation against the destructive Houthi project.
The symposium was attended by a group of scholars, preachers, and media professionals, who stressed in their deliberations and discussions the need to confront the threat of Houthi summer camps in all possible ways and through collective creative intellectual efforts by the state and all advocacy and societal entities to neutralize the destructive dangers posed by the extremist terrorist Houthi ideology.
The symposium is part of the ministry’s efforts represented by the Program of Communication with Yemeni Scholars to raise awareness of the dangers of the Houthis and their Iranian terrorist ideology and to strengthen steadfastness and national alignment to liberate all Yemeni regions from the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

Washington– President Joseph Biden of the United States welcomed today the extension of the truce in Yemen.
In a press release published by the White House, President Biden said that “the last two months in Yemen, thanks to the truce brokered in April, have been among the most peaceful periods since this war began seven years ago. This truce also would not have been possible without cooperative diplomacy from across the region. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia demonstrated courageous leadership by taking initiatives early on to endorse and implement terms of the UN-led truce. Oman played a central role in hosting and facilitating dialogue. Egypt and Jordan opened their airports to flights from Yemen over the past month thereby enabling a key component of the truce process.”
“The parties to the conflict have now extended this truce for another two months, and it’s important that we work from here to make it permanent”, he added, affirming that the United States will remain engaged in this process over the coming weeks and months.
“As we continue to support regional diplomacy to de-escalate tensions wherever possible in the Middle East region, the United States is also focused intensively on deterring threats to our friends and partners,” he concluded.

Jeddah– The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Africa, Nassirou Bako Arrifari, met yesterday with the former President of Nigeria and ECOWAS mediator in the financial crisis Goodluck Jonathan.
During the meeting, the Special Envoy delivered a message from the Secretary-General of the OIC, Hissein Brahim Taha, to the mediator of the Economic Community of West African States.
They also discussed the latest developments in ECOWAS countries as well as a number of issues of common interest.

Riyadh– The meeting of the Committee of Heads of Red Crescent Societies and bodies in GCC concluded its 18th meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Committee’s General Secretariat in Riyadh today, in the presence of the GCC Red Crescent heads and senior officials.
The committee issued a set of decisions including approving the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s bid to organize the third Gulf Forum for Voluntary Work for the Red Crescent bodies and societies in the GCC countries in December 2022, for two days in Saudi Arabia under the theme “Volunteering is life”.
The committee’s decision also reiterated the need to strengthen the existing strategic partnerships with brotherly and friendly countries, including Jordan, Morocco, Iraq, and Sudan, in addition to opening prospects for cooperation in the humanitarian field with other countries, especially in times of crises and disasters.

Riyadh– The 10th consultative meeting of the GCC Supreme Military Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces was held today in Riyadh, with the participation of the Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command Lieutenant-General Eid bin Awad Al-Shalawi, and Assistant Secretary for Military Affairs of the GCC Major General Ahmed Ali Hamid Al Ali.
During the meeting, the participants discussed several issues of common interest in promoting and strengthening the common military concerns and aspirations among the armed forces in the GCC states.

Sharm El-Sheikh– President of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser and Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Chair of IsDB Board of Governors Dr. Hala El-Said discussed today the launch of the annual meetings in Sharm El-Sheikh.

In addition, they discussed the arrangements for the official opening ceremony of the meetings scheduled for tomorrow, in the presence of Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
Dr. Hala El-Said emphasized Egypt’s keenness on the success of the annual meetings, and the interest of all Egyptian state agencies in providing all aspects of support to the meeting participants.
“These meetings would be an opportunity to deepen relations between member states and expand areas of joint cooperation” El-Said added.
Furthermore, Dr. Hala El-Said also expressed Egypt’s interest in the success of the private sector business forum, which will be conducted during the IsDB Annual Conference, and will include representatives from significant corporations and the business community at the local, regional, and worldwide levels.
This is consistent with the Egyptian government’s goal of strengthening ties with the business sector, according to El-Said.
In this light, Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, thanked Egypt for hosting the IsDB Annual meeting and praised the organization for its excellent performance and facilities provided to attendees.
