OIC Condemns Attack on Mosque in Afghanistan

Jeddah, Sep. 25, 2022, SPA — The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned, in the strongest terms, the explosion that targeted a mosque in Kabul, Afghanistan, which resulted in seven deaths forty injuries, it was reported here today.
The OIC’s General Secretariat yesterday condemned the violent and bloody attacks that led to the killing and wounding of innocent civilians across Afghanistan, stressing its previous calls to authorities in Kabul to take firmer measures to anticipate such attacks and provide security and safety for the Afghan people, expressing, at the same time, its sincere sympathy and condolence to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

KSrelief Continues to Distribute Various Relief Aid to People Affected by Floods in Pakistan

Islamabad– The team of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued to distribute various relief aid to people affected by the floods in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

As many as 2,165 food baskets were distributed on Friday in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, benefiting 15,155 people.

These efforts come within the Saudi relief airlift that dispatched, under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to support the Pakistani people who have been affected by torrential rains, which swept a number of cities and regions there.

Emir of Qatar Meets with German Chancellor

Doha– The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, met today with the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, who is currently visiting Doha.

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of strengthening strategic relations between the two countries in various fields, in addition to the most prominent regional and international issues and developments.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Participates in Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2022

Riyadh, September 24, 2022, SPA – Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club (EFC), King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve participates in the 19th Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2022, from 26 September to 2 October 2022 at the at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) under the theme “SUSTAINABILITY & HERITAGE… A REBORN ASPIRATION”.

The participation aims to showcase the world’s fourth largest land reserve and the largest in the Middle East, characterized by a striking geographical diversity and various ancient inscription art sites in Kilwa and Jubbah, which is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are the rarest endangered animals. It also holds the rarest endangered animals, such as Arabian oryx, Chlamydotis, and Reem gazelle in Harrat Al-Harra, Al-Tabayq as well as alkhanfa.

It also focuses on its unique natural treasures and characteristics besides raising awareness of the importance of wildlife and its role in maintaining environmental balance and biodiversity.

Accordingly, 50 of Arabian oryx, 100 Rim Antilopinae and 20 Nubian Ibex were launched in various locations of the Al-Tabayq Reserve. These efforts culminated in the birth of the first Arab Maha, the Arabian oryx on the reserve the first time after 90 years.

This launch is the first of the Arabian oryx in an open environment northwest of the Kingdom that is an ancient natural citizen of the oryx, as well as an enhanced launch of the pit and reem burden that has proved to be a distinct success in the mountains and plains of the King Salman Reserve, demonstrated by their natural breeding in the wild and increasing numbers.

Besides, during this month, the Reserve also launched an extensive survey of the Reserve’s birds to observe migratory birds, winter visitors and residents species, and a detailed identification of their number and transit locations. The survey comes after discovering large numbers of nestled eagles in several places at the reserve.

“Impact of Vision 2030 Initiatives on Saudi Cities” Plenary Session Held within Activities of Projects of Distinguished Cities during Reign of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques

Riyadh, September 24, 2022, SPA — The exhibition of ” Projects of Distinguished Cities during Reign of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques”, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has held a plenary session entitled ” Impact of Vision 2030 Initiatives on Saudi Cities”, with the participation of Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib; Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdurrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli; Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.

During the session, the Minister of Tourism discussed the implications of the Corona pandemic and the impact faced by the tourism sector in the world, which led to the loss of more than 25 million employees due to the pandemic.

He added that the Ministry of Tourism has laid down strategic plans for the development of tourism in the Kingdom, asserting that the ministry worked on a comprehensive survey in the Kingdom.

Al-Khatib indicated that the Tourism Development Fund is ready to finance tourism projects up to 50% of the project value, and the banks will support part of it as well, pointing out that the ministry focused on developing strategic and governance plans in order to raise the percentage of tourism in the Kingdom to 10%, which will support the national economy.

He disclosed that the ministry signed an agreement to build a training center in Riyadh to qualify human resources and trained more than 50,000 male and female citizens in the tourism sector, with the aim of reaching one million jobs in the field of tourism in order to achieve the Kingdom Vision 2030.

He concluded that the Kingdom aims, by 2030, to attract 100 million visitors, 50% of whom will be hosted by Riyadh.

In turn, the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture confirmed that the Kingdom invests SAR 40 billion for the water sector and will invest approximately SAR 105 billion during the next 3 years in order to raise water efficiency and recycle it.

Eng. Al-Fadhli said that the Kingdom Vision 2030 focuses on the environment, and that the Saudi Green Initiative has developed national parks and increased their number from 40 to 400 parks across the Kingdom, noting that the Ministry presents several initiatives aiming to sustain agriculture and help reach neutrality by 2060.

For his part, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing praised the support being accorded by the leadership to the housing sector in order to increase the proportion of Saudi families’ ownership to 70% by 2030, stressing that the housing sector plays a pivotal role in achieving the Vision’s goals, citing the plans undertaken by the Ministry to upgrade the housing sector and improve the urban landscape and infrastructure.

He also said that the Ministry works hard with other sectors to meet the challenges that will have a significant impact in the future, commending the assistance being provided by the authorities to each other to achieve their goals by 2030.

For his part, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services confirmed that the sector has recorded a set of successes since the launch of Vision 2030 in 2016, hailing the progress in the global road quality index, as “we were in 2016 in the 37th place globally in the road quality index, aiming to reach the 6th place by 2030, and increasing the use of public transportation in cities from 1% to 15% by 2030.

He further said that the launch of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy is a historic stage and a qualitative leap in the transport sector as well as a major contribution to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, adding that it aims to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub linking the three continents of the world and improve the quality of life in the cities.

He stated that the strategy will focus on the development of infrastructure, launching several platforms and logistics zones in the Kingdom, implementing advanced systems and strengthening effective partnerships between the government system and the private sector.

HRH Crown Prince Receives Spokesperson of Turkish Presidency, Turkish Minister of Treasury, Finance

Jeddah, September 24, 2022, SPA — His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, received today at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah Spokesperson of Turkish Presidency Dr. Ibrahim Kalin and Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati.

Dr. Kalin conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkiye to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to HRH the Crown Prince. In turn, HRH the Crown Prince sent greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his greetings to the Turkish President.

During the audience, aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing them in various fields were reviewed, in addition to discussing cooperation on a number of issues of common interest.

The audience was attended by Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of the State, Member of the Cabinet and Advisor of the National Security, Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of the State and Member of the Cabinet and Mohammed Al-Jdaan, Minister of Finance.

KSA’s Delegation to the United Nations in Geneva Celebrates 92nd National Day

Geneva, The permanent delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva, the Kingdom’s mission to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the Kingdom’s Consulate General in Geneva celebrated the 92nd National Day.

In his speech during the ceremony, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila, highlighted the Kingdom’s march throughout its history until the current prosperous era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince to build its international relations on close foundations of distinguished partnerships based on cordiality, cooperation and mutual respect, in addition to achieving security, peace, stability and prosperity.

Ambassador Khothaila highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to spread tolerance, peace, respect for cultural diversity and rejection of hatred and extremism.

The ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors of countries, heads of international organizations, Swiss senior officials and Saudi citizens residing in Geneva.

Arab Media Ministers Affirm the Need to Provide Media Support to Palestinian Cause

Cairo, The Council of Arab Media Ministers held its 52nd session yesterday in Cairo.

The Kingdom’s delegation to the meeting was headed by the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the Arab League Ambassador Abdul Rahman bin Saeed Al-Juma.

The Council approved the recommendations and proposals issued by the Executive Office at its 15th regular session, including the need to provide media support to the Palestinian Cause.

The Council of Arab Media Ministers also recommended the adoption of the report and recommendations of the research seminar on the role of the media in combating terrorism and extremism and the importance of cyber security in addressing the phenomenon of terrorism.

The council also reviewed a number of issues pertaining to the media field among Arab countries.

MWL Appreciates HRH Crown Prince’s Efforts in Prisoner Swap between Russia and Ukraine

Makkah, The Muslim World League (MWL) has valued the mediation efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, which resulted in the release of ten prisoners from five countries, as part of a successful prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, praised this great success of HRH the Crown Prince’s mediation efforts, within the framework of his adoption of “humanitarian initiatives towards the Russian-Ukrainian crisis”, hailing the subsequent efforts exerted by the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to facilitate the procedures for the return of the released prisoners to their countries.

He affirmed the great importance of such initiatives in alleviating the humanitarian impact, and their significant and vital role in reducing international tensions towards this crisis, and supporting peace efforts to end this crisis.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the strength of longstanding relations between the two Kingdoms and their peoples.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister sent a similar cable to the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
