Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Receives Chairman of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and his Deputies

Jeddah, Apr. 28, 2022, SPA — The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received today at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and his deputies.

At the outset of the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the blessed month of Ramadan, commending the Kingdom’s constant support for all efforts aimed at achieving peace in Yemen and the region, and whatever achieves progress and prosperity for the Yemeni people.

During the meeting, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques exchanged congratulations with them on the holy month, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness and support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, wishing them every success in achieving security and stability for Yemen and its people.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Visits Prophet’s Mosque

Madinah– The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif, visited this evening the Prophet’s Mosque, in which he performed prayers, and was honored to greet the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) and his two companions – may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both.

Upon his arrival at the Prophet’s Mosque, he was received by a number of senior civil and military officials.

LPTC Organizes Workshop Entitled “Invest in Digitization”

Riyadh– The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission (LPTC) has organized a workshop under the title “Invest in Digitization,” which is one of the campaigns of the (Digital Publishing Program) initiative, which provides Saudi publishing houses and publishers with grants to cover the costs of converting paper books into digital books so that the beneficiary can publish his/her digital book on any platform he/she prefers in safe legal formats and compatible with e-readers and global digital book platforms.

The workshop discussed the importance of converting to digital books and the future plans for this program, the importance of registering for the (digitalization of books) track, and explaining that the first stage is concerned with converting text books only (such as literary books and novels that do not contain pictures or graphics).

On the sidelines of the workshop, a dialogue session was held with the largest platforms that discussed the importance of digital books and the importance of investing in them, given that the demand for digital books in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to statistics, is constantly increasing.

Jarir Bookstore, Obeikan Bookstore and ABJAD platform participated in the dialogue session to enrich the event with the most prominent experiences and recommendations in the future of the digital world of books.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Makes Phone Call to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritius

Riyadh– Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet’s Member Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir has made a phone call to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of of the Republic of Mauritius Alan Ganoo.

During the telephone conversation, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields.

GEA Launches “Eid Celebrations Program 2022”

Riyadh– The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has launched the “Eid Celebrations Program 2022”, which will start on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr and will continue until the 6th of Shawwal, 1443 Hijri (May 7th, 2022) in various regions of the Kingdom.

Fireworks will be launched to celebrate Eid in various regions at 09:00 pm, except for the city of Jeddah, which will start at 09:30 pm, in addition to 14 theatrical shows that include elite representatives of the Arab world and 14 concerts for the most prominent singing stars of Gulf and Arab in different cities of the Kingdom, in a step through which the Authority seeks to increase the manifestations of joy and happiness associated with the celebrations of this occasion.

At the same time, the GAE revealed the identity of the “Eid Al-Fitr celebrations program 2022” under the slogan “Ahla Eidya”, in order to ensure integration and compatibility in all uses of the identity, as the Authority designed the identity elements to reflect the atmosphere of the Eid celebrations, including entertainment activities and fireworks shows that will cover the Kingdom’s region.

HRH Crown Prince receives a message from Algerian President

Jeddah– His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense has received a message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, pertaining to strong and solid fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples and ways of supporting and strengthening them in various fields.

The message was handed over to Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, when he received today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jeddah, Algerian Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Abdul Rashid Tabbi.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields, in addition to exchanging views on issues of common interest.

KSrelief Implements Awareness Workshops in Aden for Survivors of Gender-based Violence

Aden– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in cooperation with UN Women, has implemented several training workshops in Aden for various classes of the Yemeni society, as part of a project to protect and empower women and girls who were affected by gender-based violence in Yemen.

The three-day workshops included the participation of 75 trainees of media people and community leaders, in addition to some parents with the aim of raising social awareness to limit some “stigma” practices and their impact on survivors of gender-based violence and social violence in general, in addition to getting acquainted with the concept of “stigma”, its forms, reasons and addressing its negative impacts on individuals, families and the society.

The project enhances self-reliance for displaced and vulnerable women in affected areas through interventions for living conditions and protection, including through the support of the Child and Family Protection Office affiliated to WACP, increasing the understanding of local stakeholders about gender-based violence and limiting it, in addition to providing 120 women with a vocational training diploma and the best 70 performing women with work tools.

These efforts are part of KSrelief’s programs directed to develop the Yemeni woman and to limit negative impacts of social phenomena related to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition: A Saudi Humanitarian Initiative Will Release (163) Houthi Detainees Who Had Been Involved in Hostilities Against the Kingdom

Riyadh– A statement by the Official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki

“The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition will release (163) Houthi detainees who had participated in hostilities against the Kingdom as a humanitarian initiative in extension to previous ones, and support of all the endeavors and efforts to bring about peace and end the Yemeni conflict, in addition to supporting UN efforts to stabilize the current ceasefire, and create conducive efforts for dialogue between Yemeni parties. Additionally, this humanitarian initiative aims to aid in ending the PoW, Detainee and Martyr case in accordance to Islamic principles, inherent Arab values as well as the International Humanitarian Law in the third Geneva Convention provisions that were stalled ever since 2018 in the Stockholm Agreement.

The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has begun the process of releasing the (163) detainees in coordination with the ICRC in order for them to be transported the Yemeni Capital Sana’a.

Putting an end to the prisoner exchange and martyr case is a priority to the political and military leaderships, who have always reaffirmed that dealings in these cases should be purely undertaken in a humanitarian manner, away from any political or military gains and agendas.”

Saudi Arabia Stresses Necessity of Ending Israeli Occupation, Establishing an Independent Palestinian State and Palestinian Refugees Return

New York, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed its commitment to the constants of the Palestinian cause represented in ending the Israeli occupation, establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Al-Quds as its capital and guaranteeing the right of return for Palestinian refugees return.

This came in Saudi Arabia’s speech before the UN Security Council’s session, held today under the item “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian cause “, delivered by Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Counselor Mohammad Al-Ateeq.

Al-Ateeq stressed the importance of comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East as a strategic option to end this conflict, on the basis of the two-state solution, in accordance with international references, the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, return of refugees and putting an end to Israel’s occupation of all Arab territories.

Al-Ateeq said: Muslims’ holy month of Ramadan witnesses the Israeli occupation forces storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, closing its gates and attacking defenseless worshipers inside the mosque and in its outer courtyards.

He expressed Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation and denunciation of this brutal attack against the sanctities and defenseless Palestinian people.

Al-Ateeq affirmed that this systematic escalation is a blatant attack on the Islamic nation and a violation of relevant international resolutions and covenants.

Counselor Al-Ateeq called on the international community, the UN Security Council in particular, to play its role in holding the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for continuing such crimes and continuous violations against the defenseless Palestinian people, their territories and their sanctities, which will only lead to more violence and security tension in the region.

He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation of the terrorist attacks adopted by Iran-backed Houthi militia last month against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, stressing its sovereign right to take all necessary measures to defend its territories, citizens and residents against any terrorist threats in accordance with its obligations under international law.

He affirmed Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the announcement issued by former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to form the Presidential Leadership Council, in accordance with the Yemeni constitution and GCC initiative and its executive mechanisms to complete the implementation of the tasks of the transitional phase and delegating it full powers of the president of the republic.

He welcomed the swearing-in of the President and members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in Aden, stressing Saudi ‘s full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and its supporting entities to enable it carry out its duties in implementing effective policies and initiatives that would achieve security and stability of the Republic of Yemen and end the country’s crisis.
