Backed by KSrelief, More Than 211,000 Beneficiaries of Nutrition Support Project for Children and Mothers in Yemen in March

Aden– The Nutrition Project for children under the age of five and pregnant and lactating mothers, with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), continued to provide its medical and nutritional services to beneficiaries in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Hodiedah, Hadhramout, Hajjah and Marib, in Yemen.

In March 2022, more than 211,085 people, with various health conditions, benefited from the project, and being provided with the necessary health services.

This falls in the relief and humanitarian efforts, provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the KSrelief, to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni people in light of the humanitarian crisis they are going through.

Grand Mosque Witnesses a Large Number of Umrah Performers and Worshipers

Makkah, Apr. 26, 2022, SPA — The Grand Mosque witnessed yesterday a large number of Umrah performers and worshipers who came from everywhere to spend the rest of the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, SPA camera documented.

OIC Expresses Deep Regret Over Incidents of Tribal Violence in Darfur

Jeddah– The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its deep regret over the recent incidents of tribal violence that took place in West Darfur, Sudan, which claimed the lives of many innocent civilians.

The General Secretariat called on all parties to show restraint and to take dialogue as a means to solve all problems that arise between population groups, since Darfur has been known for its people of wisdom, tolerance and respect for the other.

It offered its deepest condolences to the families of the victims who fell during these recent bloody events, expressing its hope that the Sudanese parties will adhere to the Juba Peace Agreement and the related security arrangements that return security and stability to Sudan and its people.

The General Secretariat expressed its confidence that the Sudanese would be able to solve their problems through dialogue and the implementation of the Sudanese National Plan for the Protection of Civilians.

SG of OIC Receives EU Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Jeddah– The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha received here today the Ambassador of the European Union to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Special Representative to the OIC Patrick Simonnet.

During the meeting, they valued the constructive dialogue between the OIC and the EU, and the fruitful cooperation between them in various fields, stressing the desire to strengthen relations.

They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, including the Palestinian Cause and Afghanistan, the situation in the Sahel countries, Lake Chad, issues of Muslim communities and minorities, Islamophobia and hate crimes.

International artistic teams perform exclusive shows for Jeddah Season 2022 for ”Cirque du Soleil’s” from May 2 to 28

Jeddah– Residents and visitors to the 2022 Jeddah season are eagerly looking forward to Cirque du Soleil’s international shows, which will start on May 2 and continue until May 28, and will feature one of its shows created exclusively for the Jeddah season, in the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The Jeddah Season management announced the date of the first show of the event at nine o’clock in the evening of Eid Al-Fitr on Monday, May 2, for two hours, while the second show will be on Tuesday at the same time. There will be two shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, every day at four o’clock in the afternoon, and nine o’clock pm.

Specialized international teams from more than 13 countries will participate in this highly anticipated event. Visitors to the season will be greeted by many exciting experiences, including dazzling fire shows, paper storm shows, water shows, many exciting acrobatic performances, and various theatrical activities over the course of a whole month, starting from the first day of Eid Al-Fitr. These shows are expected to attract thousands of visitors and circus lovers from different countries of the world after it was recently announced to the public about the dates of the shows throughout the month of May.

Circus activities have a great global following of over 215 million people in more than 70 countries that have hosted these shows, and the Kingdom has witnessed the establishment of six shows in various regions that attracted a large number of visitors.

SAIP Celebrates World Intellectual Property Day under Slogan “Your Ideas, Our Future”

Riyadh– The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) celebrates World Intellectual Property Day under the slogan “Your Ideas, Our Future” with the aim of motivating creators and emphasizing that the creations of young citizens contribute in building a better future by displaying achievements and inspiring stories in the fields of intellectual property of the youth group, and maximizing its impact in addition to many awareness events in various regions of the Kingdom.

The CEO of SAIP, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed AlSwailem confirmed that SAIP is pleased to provide services that aim to support innovators in intellectual property fields, and IP clinics is one of the services provided by SAIP to establish a continuous communication channel with innovators. From which, more than 1200 beneficiaries have benefited from the service, in addition to the programs provided by the Intellectual Property Academy which reached more than 8,500 beneficiaries so far.

Al-Swailem also stated that SAIP will contribute this year in spreading awareness among society members under the slogan “Your Ideas, Our Future”, in cooperation with both public and private sectors. The slogan is a message to the young citizens who are the future of our country through the vision of our leaders which contributes to supporting and encouraging the youth by launching initiatives and strategies leading to a brighter future with the ambition and creativity of the young citizens. He also mentioned that the National Network of Intellectual Property Support Centers (TISCs), which is one of the SAIP’s initiatives in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), targets entities working in the innovation system within the health, academic, governmental, non-profit and business sectors, in order to facilitate access of Innovators and inventors to technical information, related services and support of the generation, use and management of intellectual property assets, which have a membership of 43 entities from various sectors.

SAIP also announced the issuance of the Statistical Report on Intellectual Property Information, which displayed growth in the number of applications filed through the Authority during the year 2021, compared to the year before, where patent applications filed increased by 11% and trademark registration applications by 26%. In addition, industrial designs registration applications grew by 48%, and optional registration of copyright works grew by 57%. This year also witnessed the issuance of the first two documents in the history of the Kingdom to protect layout designs of integrated circuits.

The World Intellectual Property Organization and its member states participate in the celebration of this day by launching events and initiatives that highlight youth and their creativity in order to encourage their ideas and innovations. It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia joined as a member of the World Intellectual Property Organization in 1982. SAIP also participates with its membership to keep up with the developments for various fields of intellectual property, which will have a positive impact on intellectual property activities in the Kingdom.

KSrelief distributes 4,759 cartons of dates in Aden

Aden– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday distributed 4,750 cartons of dates to the needy families in Sheikh Othman District, Aden Governorate, benefiting 28,500 individuals.

This aid comes as an extension of the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom, represented by the Center, to affected countries and peoples around the world.

Estimated at over SAR 2 Billion, Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Directs to Disburse Ramadan Aid for Social Insurance Beneficiaries

Riyadh– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered the disbursement of Ramadan aid for beneficiaries of the social insurance with SAR 1,000 for heads of family and SAR 500 for dependants.

It is expected for the aid amount, which is estimated at more than SAR 2 billion, to be deposited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries directly over the next few hours.

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on this generous initiative.

KSrelief distributes 101 Ramadan food baskets in Niger

Niamey– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday distributed 101 Ramadan food baskets in the village of Bokoki 2 in Niamey, the Republic of Niger, benefiting 505 individuals, as part of the Ramadan feeding initiative for the year 1443 AH.

It is noteworthy that the project aims to distribute 9,000 food baskets to benefit 45,000 people in Niamey, Dosso and Tillabri regions in Niger.

This comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Kingdom, represented by the Center, to provide food security for the needy in 19 countries around the world during the holy month of Ramadan.

322 Staff Members Supervise Organizing Worshippers at Prophet’s Holy Mosque

Madinah– Crowd organization administration, affiliated with the general administration for crowds at the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, is exerting big efforts to receive guests and worshippers throughout the last 10 days of the Holy month of Ramadan, especially during the Taraweeh and Qiyam (night( prayers to facilitate the movement of crowds and their access to prayer locations easily.

The crowd administration has allocated 322 employees divided into four shifts to facilitate the entry of visitors and worshippers from entrances, passages and praying areas at the yards of the Prophet’s Holy Mosque and inside it round the clock. Other duties of the administration include guiding and organizing human crowds inside the mosque, its roof and yards, in addition to following up on these procedures continuously to ensure the flexibility of crowd movement, avoid closing passages by worshippers, and restrict wrong behaviors, such as begging, and tampering with luggage and children, so as to facilitate the movement of visitors of the mosque.

The employees concerned with organizing crowds round the clock follow up on crowds constantly to avoid congestions, where the percentage of smoothness inside the passages and yards of the mosque stood at 100%, where more than 800 barriers were used to organize crowds and the entry and exist of worshippers easily and smoothly.

Director of crowd organization administration Abdulkarim Al-Ahmadi said that crowd organization is implemented through sending worshippers to internal praying areas then to the roof, and after ensuring it is full, worshippers are sent to the external yards until they are full, before worshippers are directed to go to the new western yards.

He added that the participation institutions at the Prophet’s Holy Mosques are asked to help depending on field needs to ensure the organization and safety of crowds.

Geospatial Authority Signs Agreement with UNDP to Provide Consultation Services

Riyadh– The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GASGI) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed the third phase of a project to offer consultation services, which entails providing support to the authority in the fields that were endorsed in its new bylaw focusing on enhancing and developing work in the fields of survey and geospatial information, and improving and building the national capacity.

The authority, through this agreement, seeks to expand the scope of marketing its products and services and increase the level of public awareness on its works, where the basic fields of this agreement include: geodesy, geospatial information, marine survey, map production, planning and development, and the geospatial academia of the authority.

UNDP Resident Representative for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Adam Bouloukos stressed that this partnership aims at providing consultation services concerned with developing the national capacity to conduct survey and geospatial works effectively and efficiently, providing the necessary infrastructure for the national geospatial data, and receiving diversified and multi-purpose knowledge from these survey works so as to support the national efforts aimed at realizing the targets of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

GASGI President Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel expressed his satisfaction with UNDP support, in particular the latest training arranged by UNDP and delivered by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea which received significant positive feedback.

GASGI Head of Human resources and National Project Manager of the project Eng. Bader Althiyabi said: “This project will contribute to achieving the objectives of the organization’s regulation Resolution No. (90) in the field of surveying and geospatial information and will contribute to developing and building national capacities in the sector.”

The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, according to its mandate, seeks to organize, develop and improve the sector of survey and geospatial information, and supervise it in a way that realizes quality and improved performance.

Chad’s Chairman of Transitional Military Council arrives in Jeddah

Jeddah– The Chairman of the Transitional Military Council of the Republic of Chad, Mohamed Idriss Deby, arrived in Jeddah today.

At King Abdulaziz International Airport, the Chairman was received by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region; Minister of State for African Countries Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Qattan, and a number of officials.
