KSrelief Distributes More Than 101 Tons of Food Baskets in Marib, Yemen

Marib– The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 101 tons and 329 kilograms of food baskets to the neediest families in Marib Governorate, Yemen, benefiting 5,682 individuals.

This falls within the project to support food security for the year 2022, which is implemented by the KSrelief in Yemen, and aims to distribute more than 192,000 food baskets weighing more than 20,000 tons to needy and affected families in 15 Yemeni governorates.

German Ambassador visits Buraidah Dates Festival

Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dieter Lamle, visited today Buraidah Dates Festival organized by the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Qassim region in the city of dates in Buraidah.

He was briefed on the auction arena, activities, events, buying and selling operations, and quantities of dates coming to the market, praising the festival including distinguished activities, programs and events touching the segments of the society.

KSrelief inaugurates food aid distribution to displaced and flood-affected people in Al-Mahra, Yemen

Al-Mahra, Yemen, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday inaugurated the distribution of emergency food aid to the displaced and people affected by the torrential rains and floods in Shahn District, Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen.

The urgent intervention, which comes within the framework of the food security project, includes the distribution of 100 food baskets containing basic materials, benefiting 1,092 people.

It is noteworthy that Al-Mahra Governorate and a number of southern and eastern governorates witnessed heavy rains a few days ago.

The Center’s urgent intervention in the relief of the displaced and people affected by torrential rains and floods in Yemen comes as part of its continuous efforts to stand with the Yemeni people in various crises and adversities.

KSrelief concludes a volunteer program to combat blindness in Bangladesh with 668 surgeries

Dhaka, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded today a voluntary medical program to combat blindness and its diseases in Bangladesh, within the “Noor Saudi Arabia” volunteer program, which was implemented during the period from 4 to 12 August 2022, in cooperation with Al Basar International Foundation.

Since the campaign started, the center’s volunteer medical team has medically examined 10,310 cases, performed 668 cataract surgeries, and distributed 1,716 glasses.

This campaign is an extension of the center’s projects aimed at combating blindness targeting families with low incomes in several countries.

KSrelief Supervisor General visits medical transport station for helping refugees in Poland

Warsaw, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah visited yesterday the medical transport station in the Polish city of Przemysl, which is a vital center for helping refugees from Ukraine, accompanied by Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Poland Saad bin Saleh Al-Saleh .

During the visit, the Director of the Regional Center for Emergency Situations, Rafai Kijanka, gave a briefing on the station’s works and its efforts in providing emergency measures and necessary medical aid to refugees from Ukraine to Poland benefiting from the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Al Rabeeah praised the medical work to help refugees and alleviate their suffering.

KSrelief Supervisor General inspects Saudi shelter aid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland

Warsaw, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, visited yesterday UNHCR warehouse in Rzeszow, Poland, accompanied by the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Poland, Saad bin Saleh Al-Saleh.

Dr. Al Rabeeah toured with UNHCR representatives the warehouse facilities and inspected the sheltering aid provided within the Kingdom’s $10 million grant to support Ukrainian refugees, of which $5 million were allocated through the center to UNHCR, where he was assured of the readiness of the assistance and the completion of the necessary arrangements to be distributed to the targeted refugees.

He also visited the UNHCR shelter distribution center where he was briefed on the distribution mechanism to beneficiaries and plans to respond to the emergency needs of refugees.

Dr. Al Rabeeah said that the sheltering aid provided by the Kingdom, represented by the Center, targets nearly 100,000 refugees from Ukraine, stressing that the Kingdom is always keen to support the refugees anywhere in the world, emanating from its humanitarian responsibility.

Dr. Al Rabeeah praised the high level of professionalism pursued by UNHCR, highlighting the close partnership between the Center and UNHCR.

KSrelief implements a voluntary program to combat blindness in Morocco

Rabat, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has implemented a voluntary medical program to combat blindness and its causes in Tahanaout, Morocco, within the “Noor Saudi Volunteer Program”, during the period from 1 to 8 August 2022.

During the campaign, the center’s volunteer medical team examined 3,185 cases, distributed 1,217 glasses, and successfully performed 280 cataract surgeries.

The campaign falls within Saudi Arabia’s projects, being implemented through KSrelief, to combat blindness for families with limited incomes in several countries.

King Salman Urban Charter’s Typeface Wins Three International Prizes

Riyadh, The Architecture and Design Arts Commission has announced the official typeface of King Salman Urban Charter winning three international prizes, it was reported here today.

The Arabic charter calligraphy was designed to embody meanings resembling the originality of architecture inspired from the small windows of muddy traditional homes once emerged in Najd region of Saudi Arabia. The letter drawing depends on primary shapes of the square, triangle, rectangle and circle which reflects the visual heritage of the region.

The typeface was selected by international institutions as coming first and second by Type Directors Club (TDC) and accredited by the renowned calligrapher and designer Mamoun Sakkal. In Granshan 2022, it ranked second as Arabic Display Typeface.

The new letterform will be displayed in New York before making a tour which will take it to ten world major countries.

King Salman Urban Charter is one of the most important national initiatives of the Architecture and Design Arts Commission launched in 2021.

Public Prosecution: An expatriate is convicted of a money laundering crime for attempting to smuggle 297,000 US dollars via King Abdulaziz International Airport outside Kingdom

Jeddah, An official source of the Public Prosecution has stated that the Economic Crimes Prosecution’s investigations have concluded into the accusation of an expatriate of African nationality of commencement of transferring (297,000) US dollars, in addition to (5000) Saudi riyals via King Abdulaziz International Airport outside the Kingdom.

The investigation procedures indicated that the accused attempted to transfer the money by hiding it inside cartons dedicated to dates, which were found in his bag. The investigation procedures also revealed that the seized amounts were resulted from practices in violation of a number of regulations. A general criminal case was filed against the offender before the competent court on charges of money laundering by attempting to smuggle cash outside the Kingdom, and a preliminary ruling was issued against him that included his conviction for what was attributed to him, the confiscation of the seized amounts, his imprisonment for two years, and his deportation from the country after serving his sentence. The Public Prosecution Office submitted an objection to appeal the verdict, calling for a stiffer penalty for the offender.

The Public Prosecution stressed earlier the protection of the economy and the domestic product, and it will present anyone who seeks to harm the financial system and the national economy to the competent court to demand severe penalties in this regard, noting through its accounts on social media periodically the need to disclose financial values and cash amounts that exceed 60,000 riyals in case of leaving the Kingdom or passing through any of its ports.

Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, The outragious Anger Exercise 22 between the Royal Saudi Forces and US Marines 22 has started in this Red Sea Saudi city of Yanbu.

The logistic exercise was launched in the attendance of the Commander of the Western sector Major General Ahmed Al-Dibais and the Commander of the US marines Major General Paul Rock and senior officers of the two sides.

Saudi Arabia ranked 3rd in Int’l Information Olympics in Indonesia

Riyadh, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has collected the bronze medal in the 34th International Information Olympics hosted by Indonesia from 7 – 15 August , it was reported here today.

Abdulaziz Al-Shibly, a Riyadh-based secondary school student, came third among 349 students representing 89 countries.

For her part, Dr. Amal Al-Hazzaa, Acting Secretary General of King Abdulaziz and his Companions for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) forwarded congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince on this scientific achievement.
