Saudi Stock Exchange Main Index Ends Trading Lower at 11,427.26 Points

Riyadh– Saudi Stock Exchange’s main index ended trading lower here today, losing 85.75 points to close at 11,427.26 points.

The total value of the trading reported was SAR 6 billion, while the toll of shares traded was 189 million, divided into over 427,000 deals.

The Saudi Parallel Market Index (NOMU) ended the day losing 433.38 points, to close at 20,248 points, with a valuation of SAR 28 million and an overall tally of more than 577,000,000 stocks traded and divided into as many as 2,426 deals.

Saudi Egyptian Real Estate Forum Kicks off in Cairo

Cairo– The 2nd Saudi Egytian real estate forum started in Cairo today, organized by the Egyptian Businessmen Association in cooperation with the Saudi Chambers Federation and Saudi Egyptian Businessmen Council under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbooli in the attendance of the Saudi ambassador to Egypt Osamah bin Ahmed Nugali and representatives of giant Saudi Egyptian companies operating in the field of real estate.

Addressing the gathering, Minister of Business Sector Husham Tawfiq noted the renaissance witnessed by the real estate field in both countries, citing the investment opportunities in the field of real estate in Egypt.

For his part, Abdullah Al-Marshad, Chairman of the Real Estate National Committee affiliated to the Saudi Chambers Federation, said that the forum is considered a new chapter in the Saudi Egyptian economic cooperation, expressing hope that it would enrich the aspects of cooperation to enter new horizons.

KSrelief Concludes Voluntary Medical Project for Thyroid Surgery in Morocco with 193 Surgeries

Rabat– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded yesterday the voluntary medical project for Thyroid surgery in the cities of Kalaat Sraghna and Beni Mellal in Morocco, which was implemented from 18 to 23 June 2022, in cooperation with the Muslim World League.

During the campaign, the center’s volunteer medical team successfully performed 193 surgeries.

This campaign comes as an extension of the voluntary medical projects implemented by KSrelief in various disciplines to help individuals and families with low incomes in countries in need.

Saudi-Italian Investment Forum Consolidates Investment Relations between the Two Countries

Riyadh– The Saudi-Italian Investment Forum culminated today in the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding, including establishing the Saudi-Italian Business Council, formalizing the business relationship between Saudi Arabia and one of its most important European trade partners.

The event, which highlighted mutually beneficial investment opportunities across multiple sectors, was attended by Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance.

Led by Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio, the high-level Italian delegation gathered government officials and key private sector representatives. Also present was Ms. Barbara Beltrame Giaconello, Vice President for Internationalization of the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), the Italian employers’ federation and national chamber of commerce.

The event saw the signing of an MoU between the General Confederation of Italian Industry & the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce with the aim to enhance bilateral business relations and an agreement between WE ENERGY & Officine Nicola Galperti e Figlio S.p.A. in the field of forging & flange manufacturing.

Several interactive presentations enabled Italian delegates to explore the world of investment opportunity available in Saudi Arabia. The Red Sea Development Company showcased infrastructure and mobility projects within the Kingdom, while the Royal Commission for AlUla and Aseer Development Authority showcased opportunities in tourism and culture. The Ministry of Energy, together with ACWA Power, also introduced attendees to renewable energy investment opportunities the Kingdom.

In addition to meeting with prospective Saudi business partners, Italian investors explored the world-leading support services provided by Invest Saudi, the Kingdom’s investment promotion platform.

The Forum comes the same month as a Riyadh visit organized by the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC) for Italian MP Elena Morelli, chair of the Italian-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee, who discussed ways to open headquarters for Italian companies in Saudi Arabia and noted cooperation opportunities between Riyadh and Rome in the renewable energy sectors, tourism and infrastructure.

The Saudi-Italian Investment Forum follows several successful bilateral forums, webinars and other events hosted in the past 12 months by MISA to strengthen international business relationships and support foreign investment attraction. Brazil, Greece, Austria, France, Thailand and South Africa are just a handful of the countries that sent business delegations to Saudi Arabia, resulting in enhanced cooperation and multiple MoUs s to explore investment opportunities across diverse sectors.

Saudi-British Joint Business Council to Hold Renewable Energy Forum

London– Saudi-British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) will hold the “Renewable Energy Forum” in London tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 June, in partnership with London City Mayor, Vincent Keaveny, in the presence of Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, KSA’s Ambassador to the UK has, in addition to several ministers, including the British Minister of Investment, Lord Gerry Grimstone, and Saudi and UK business sector representatives.

The forum aims to discuss investment and partnership opportunities in renewable energy and clean technology, including hydrogen production. It also targets several main topics, including clean renewable energy programs in both countries and available investment opportunities, in addition to financing clean energy projects, and the role of the Saudi Public Investment Fund and the City of London in that regard.

President of Azerbaijan Receives OIC Secretary General

Jeddah– President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received today Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha, on the sidelines of the 11th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM), being held in Baku Azerbaijan.

The Secretary General shared with the President his vision to promote Islamic solidarity and Islamic joint action.

President Aliyev pledged Azerbaijan’s full support to the Secretary-General’s vision and mission to protect and safeguard the interest of the Muslim world.

IMCTC Secretary General Receives UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh– Acting Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, at the coalition headquarters in Riyadh today, received UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif Al Nehayan and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the UAE ambassador was briefed on the efforts of the Islamic coalition in countering terrorism and its role in combating extremist ideology and coordinating efforts through intellectual and media campaigns and combating funding of terrorism, in addition to its role in coordinating and intensifying the works of member states in the coalition.

The delegates also had a firsthand look on the latest developments related to terrorist groups and events across the world, and the mechanisms of inspection and follow-up made by the coalition in this field.

Cambodian King Receives MWL Secretary General, Praises League’s Efforts in Enhancing Civil Alliance

Phnom Penh– King Norodom Sihmoni of Cambodia has received Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and President of the Association of Muslim Scholars Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.

Dr. Al-Issa referred to the Cambodian model in realizing harmony in its national harmony, praising the excellence of this harmony with its Islamic component that enjoys full religious freedom and lives its national brotherhood with all in an image that reflects the high level of awareness and national solidarity.

For his part, the Cambodian king commended the tangible impact for efforts of the MWL in enhancing civil alliance in diversity around the world and enhancing awareness among Muslim communities.

Dr. Al-Issa also visited the Islamic Center in Phnom Penh and met with Cambodian Islamic leaders who praised MWL’s efforts around the world, expressing their pride in the good reputation among senior political, parliamentary and religious Cambodian leaderships as an international model that celebrates the league around the world, which reflects remarkably and directly on Muslim minorities.

The MWL Secretary General also delivered the Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque in Phnom Penh upon the request of the Islamic religious leadership in Cambodia, where he addressed, during the sermon that was attended by hundreds of worshippers, four central aspects that concern Islamic components in their national communities.

He also met with Great Supreme Buddhist Patriarch of Cambodia Tep Vong and another patriarch, who stressed that the visit is historical for the Cambodian people, stressing the importance to enhance cooperation among followers of various faiths.

Also, the Royal University of Phnom Penh hosted Dr. Al-Issa, where he was received by the Cambodian minister of education, prime minister and university president, in addition to several instructors, researchers and students, along with senior officials of the local administration.

The university is the biggest in the country and was established 62 years ago, and has around 20,000 students at the bachelor’s and higher studies programs. During the visit to the university, Dr. Al-Issa delivered a lecture titled: “Our shared values and civil alliance.”

Makkah Road Initiative Continues Services in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur– The Makkah Road Initiative continues its services in the departure hall at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to serve the pilgrims in the Kingdom of Malaysia by facilitating their travel procedures to the Kingdom to perform Hajj this year 1443H.

The initiative, which was launched by the Ministry of Interior within the Doyof Al Rahman Program, one of the programs of the Kingdom Vision 2030, aims to complete the travel procedures for the beneficiary pilgrims in their countries, starting with issuing the visa electronically and taking the vital characteristics, passing through the completion of passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after verifying the health requirements, in addition to coding and sorting luggage according to transportation and housing arrangements in the Kingdom.

Riyadh– Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arena

Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that it is widely known that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a leading position among the countries of the world.

Saudi Arabia enjoys a firm approach in its policy since its inception until this prosperous era being led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the paper said.

In this regard, the past few days witnessed visits made by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense to a number of countries included Egypt, Jordan and Turkiye, the paper also said

During the visits, a number of meetings were held, in addition to concluding agreements and making joint statements, the paper further said.

All visits confirm the importance of enhancing the historical relations and strategic partnerships between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and those countries, the paper added.

Shortly thereafter, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense received at the Royal Court at Al-Salam palace the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, the paper also added.

The two sides held a session of official talks, during which they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries and areas of joint cooperation, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues, which contribute to supporting and strengthening security and stability in the region, the paper further added.

After that, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense received in Jeddah the Commander of the Pakistani Army, chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the paper concluded.

Aramco Opens ARC KAUST to Accelerate Low-Carbon Energy Research

Dhahran– Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) today inaugurated the Aramco Research Center at KAUST (ARC KAUST), which aims to accelerate the development of low-carbon solutions for the energy industry using advanced analytics.

Strategically located within the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), the newly established research hub deploys artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop innovative ways to advance low-carbon solutions and enable a Circular Carbon Economy.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Aramco Senior Vice President Upstream, Nasir K. Al-Naimi, KAUST Vice President of Innovation and Economic Development, Dr. Kevin Cullen and senior executives from SABIC, Dow and PetroRabigh.

Aramco Chief Technology Officer Eng. Ahmad Al-Khowaiter said: “The Aramco Research Center at KAUST offers a unique opportunity to strengthen our collaboration with KAUST and accelerate the development of cutting-edge technologies that will contribute to a low-carbon future. Today energy companies face the dual challenge of delivering sustainability and reliability. The critical research undertaken at this new facility will help us meet our obligations to customers and energy consumers worldwide, while also supporting our ambition of reaching operational net-zero emissions by 2050.”

ARC KAUST researchers, engineers and scientists intend to develop new technologies in carbon capture, low-carbon hydrogen/ammonia, non-metallics, e-fuels, liquids-to-chemicals, and advanced transport technologies.

The opening of the center represents an important milestone in the growth of Aramco, offering unique collaboration opportunities to leverage KAUST’s capabilities in such areas as super-computing and data analytics.
