Health Ministry Provides medical services to more than 216,000 pilgrims at the Kingdom’s ports

Riyadh, The Ministry of Health has provided medical services to 216,981 pilgrims who entered the Kingdom via land, air, and seaports, from the beginning of the pilgrims’ arrival until Monday, June 20, 2022.

According to the ministry, a total of 10,101 pilgrims received preventive treatment for meningitis, 31936 pilgrims were given the polio vaccine, and 12,145 pilgrims were given the yellow fever vaccine. The ministry added that the number of incoming pilgrims who received medical services at the airports until last Monday amounted to (209865) pilgrims, amounting to 97% of the total arrivals through all ports, while the number of pilgrims who received treatment and preventive services through the land ports reached 4626 pilgrims amounting to 2%, and the number of incoming pilgrims who received medical services at seaports stood at 2490 pilgrims amounting to 1% of the total arrivals.

The ministry added that the number of arriving pilgrims who adhered to the health requirements of meningitis reached 211826 pilgrims (98% of the total arrivals), and the number of pilgrims who adhered to the health requirements of oral polio reached 3137 pilgrims (100% compliance), and the number of pilgrims who adhered to the health requirements of yellow fever amounted to 11522 pilgrims (95% of the overall number of arrivals).

The Ministry of Health, during this year’s Hajj season, prepared its health facilities in Makkah, the Holy Sites, and Madinah to provide medical services to pilgrims. These include 25 hospitals, supported by 156 health centers, with a clinical capacity of up to 5000 beds, of which 1053 beds are allocated for intensive care, and 241 beds allocated for heat stroke cases.

The Ministry added that it has deployed 25000 qualified health practitioners to serve the pilgrims, in addition to setting up medical stations on the Al-Mashaer Train and the Al-Haramain Train, and intensified its efforts in the central area of the Holy Mosque in Makkah, as well as providing 180 ambulances, and 17 emergency centers on the Jamarat Bridge facility in Mina.

Bangladesh’s Minister of Civil Aviation commends Makkah Route initiative

Dhaka, The Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mahbub Ali, has commended Makkah Route Initiative that serves pilgrims to facilitate their procedures, stressing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to serve pilgrims and Muslims to perform their rituals in peace and security.

He extended his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince for this valuable initiative that provides pilgrims with the best services by completing their entry procedures into the Kingdom, where they are received upon their arrival at the hall of the initiative and transferred to their places of residence without the need to wait at the airport.

The Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism commended the parties participating in the initiative, which harnessed the material and human capabilities to facilitate the pilgrims’ procedures, noting that they are working to complete the pilgrim’s procedures in a record time and with high accuracy.

First Saudi-American Joint Exhibition of Photography held in Tabuk Region

Tabuk, The Association of Culture and Arts in Tabuk Region has held the first Saudi-American Joint Exhibition of Photography in the region in the presence of the Consul General of the United States of America in Jeddah, Faris Asad.

The attendees toured the three-day exhibition, being organized by the Association in partnership with the Consulate, including 48 images representing nature, culture and civilization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.

The U.S. Consul General expressed his happiness to cooperate with the association in the fields of culture and arts, expressing his admiration for the beautiful works displayed in the exhibition which reflects the role of arts in the convergence of civilizations.

“SPA” documents finalizing travel procedures for Moroccan pilgrims

Casablanca, Saudi Press Agency’s ”SPA” cameras have documented the process of finalizing the travel procedures for Moroccan pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year, as part of the “Makkah Route Initiative”, which aims to facilitate the travel procedures of pilgrims.

The stages of completing the procedures include ensuring that the pilgrims meet the conditions and specifications of travel, including health requirements before departure, to enable the pilgrims to head to their place of residence directly after the plane lands at the airport, without the need to verify their vaccination certificates, or take any other preventive measures, in addition to coding and sorting luggage per transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom. Upon arrival at the airport, the pilgrims are escorted to the Makkah Route Initiative hall, where they are welcomed and distributed to the counters to finalize their entry procedures into the Kingdom

The Makkah Route Initiative, which was launched by the Ministry of Interior, is being implemented with the participation of the Ministries of “Foreign Affairs, Hajj, and Umrah, and Health”, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, SDAIA, Pilgrim Experience Program, the General Directorate of Passports, and Elm Company

Hajjah, Yemen, Supported by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Emergency Center for Epidemic Diseases Control in Hiran District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen, provided treatment services for 3,295 patients during the period from 1 to 7 June 2022 AD.

This comes within the efforts being exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to assist the health sector to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Minister of Transport and Logistics salutes Saudi seafarers, lauding their role in supporting supply chains

Riyadh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, on the occasion of the International Seafarers Day, which is observed on June 25 annually, expressed his great appreciation for the vital role the seafarers play in the global maritime transport industry and their great efforts in sustaining the flow of the main necessities of life.

Al-Jasser said on Twitter “We are proud of all of you, as you are an essential pillar in the progress of the maritime sector and the movement of global trade, with your contributions to support supply chains, the delivery of goods to various countries around the world, and the strengthening of logistics services”.

The Kingdom continues to enhance its capabilities in the ports and maritime transport sector, and invest in the Saudi human component of seafarers, as more than 1,000 Saudi sailors work onboard the Saudi Naval Fleet, which in 2021 recorded advanced ranks in the tonnage side, and ranked first regionally and 21 globally, according to the annual report of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development “UNCTAD” for the year 2020.

The Jeddah Season breaks new records and welcomes its five millionth visitor

Jeddah, Since its launch at the beginning of last May, the Jeddah Season has achieved a new record in the number of visitors, attracting more than 5 million visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom of various nationalities and ages.

This large number reflects the extent of the Jeddah Season’s offerings to its visitors, the variety and distinction of activities, and its ability to satisfy all desires. It also reflects the magnitude of the social and economic mobility generated by the season, as well as the abundance of employment opportunities created for young Saudi men and women working at the event sites. This accounts for 80% of the season’s total workforce, whether in stores, restaurants, cafes, markets, or other organizational and logistical services.

This number represents a new indicator of the Jeddah Season’s success. It also translates the high demand for the season’s activities, as tickets for many events were sold out shortly after their release to the public, as well as the level of general satisfaction with the season’s activities and programs and their distinction, as Jeddah has become now a permanent tourist destination in the world. The city is now visited by tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world to enjoy international shows and various exhibitions, some of which are being held for the first time.

Saudi Ambassador to Sudan Receives a Delegation of the Freedom and Change Forces “Reconciliation Group”

Khartoum, The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Sudan Ali bin Hasan Jaafar received at his residence a delegation of the Freedom and Change Forces “National Reconciliation Charter Group”.

During the meeting, the importance of achieving reconciliation among all Sudanese parties to overcome the current political crisis and achieve stability including supporting the efforts of the tripartite mechanism of the UN, African Unity and the IGAD to reach an inclusive and permanent solution were emphasized.

The ambassador confirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arbia’s firm position of supporting whatever achieves the security, peace, unity, stability, prosperity and development of Sudan as well as the endeavor of dialogue among the parties.

MWL Secretary-General holds meetings with Cambodian political, parliamentary, and religious leaders

Phnom Penh, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, has visited Cambodia, within the framework of MWL’s mission to promote coexistence and tolerance among societies, and at an official invitation from the Cambodian side.

During the first days of the visit, Dr. Al-Issa held a series of meetings with government and parliamentary figures, where he was received by the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, at the government headquarters in the capital, Phnom Penh.

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the distinguished Cambodian national model in its coexistence and the harmony of its societal diversity, especially its embrace of its Islamic national component and its full empowerment of its religious privacy and national rights.

The Prime Minister highlighted the distinctiveness of the Islamic component in Cambodia and its complete harmony with the diverse components of the Cambodian society reflecting an image of cohesion and affection that reflects the level of religious and national awareness among all segments, stressing in this context the great appreciation and respect for the religious privacy of the Islamic component, its freedom to practice its rituals, and his country’s keenness to enable the Muslim community per the country’s constitution and laws.

Dr. Al-Issa also met with the Cambodian Senior Minister, Dr. Othman Hassan, who described Al-Issa’s visit as “historic”, stressing that the visit was received with great interest from all the Cambodian people, and the Islamic component in particular, due to important meetings and points of discussion on its agenda.

Dr. Al-Issa also visited the Cambodian Parliament, at its headquarters in the capital, Phnom Penh, where he met with President Heng Samrin and members of Parliament.

The House Speaker commended MWL’s global and “pivotal” role in promoting harmony among national societies, stressing that the Cambodian Islamic component enjoys freedom and affection with the rest of the national components and that for Cambodia, this constitutional value represents a constant and national priority.

The Speaker stressed the Cambodian government’s keenness to empower Muslims in Cambodia socially and economically to have an effective representation in the government, as well as its keenness on their religious rights and freedoms and the practice of their rituals.

The Secretary-General was also hosted by the Cambodian Senate, where he held meetings with the Senate Chairman. Say Chhum, and several members of the Senate, in the presence of the Chairman of the Senate’s Education, Religions, Culture and Tourism Committee, the Chairman of the Senate’s Investigation, Monitoring and Anti-Corruption Committee, and the Senior Minister of Islamic Affairs.

The Chairman of the Senate affirmed Cambodia’s pride in its Muslim community component, and its keenness to secure their rights without discrimination, thanking MWL for standing and supporting the Cambodian people during times of crisis without discrimination, in relief, health and education.

In the same context, Dr. Al-Issa met, at the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn.

The Cambodian Foreign Minister described the visit as “very important”, expressing his deep appreciation for the interest and great efforts of MWL in confronting extremism and hatred, and its keenness to build bridges between followers of different faiths and cultures to promote the values of tolerance and coexistence.

For his part, Dr. Al-Issa stressed that the visit emanates from the great appreciation for Cambodia, and for its outstanding model of coexistence and peace, as it overcame its past painful challenges with a sincere national will that reflects the true and sincere awareness of the Cambodian people.

The visit also included a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng, where the two sides discussed several topics of common interest, focusing on issues of societal peace, stressing the great importance of the contribution of religious and community leaders to strengthening national and international security.

The Cambodian minister said “we count on this communication carried out by the Muslim World League with its project calling for the peace of diverse societies religiously, ethnically, and culturally through practical and successful methods of understanding,” stressing that this project builds societies and stimulates them towards development and growth and eradicates deviant or criminal ideologies through the will of a conscious society in the face of those thoughts that threaten peace and stability.

Commander of Royal Saudi Navy Chairs 20th Meeting of GCC Armed Forces Navies

Doha, Commander of the Royal Saudi Navy General Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ghufaili presided over here today the 20th Meeting of GCC Armed Forces Navies.

Addressing the meeting, Al-Ghufaili underscored the importance of the meeting held amid great challenges and dangers engulfing the region toghether with the repercussions of international disputes.

The meeting reviewed a number of issues on the agenda.

Al-Ghufaili thanked the host country of Qatar for warm welcome and generous hospitality.

Supported by KSrelief, More than 66,000 beneficiaries of nutrition support project for children and mothers in Yemen within a week

Aden, Supported by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Nutrition Project for children under five and pregnant and lactating mothers has continued to provide its medical and nutritional services to beneficiaries in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Al-Hudaydah, Hadhramaut, Hajjah, and Marib.

66,842 people benefited from the project from 1 to 7 June 2022.

This comes within the relief and humanitarian efforts being provided by the Kingdom through KSrelief to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources concludes UK visit

Riyadh, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef has concluded his visit to the United Kingdom, accompanied by several heads of the industry and mining sectors, which aimed at enhancing opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the industrial and mining sectors.

During the visit, the minister met with the British Minister of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy Kwasi Kwarteng, and discussed with him means to strengthen bilateral relations in the industrial and mining sectors.

Alkhorayef also met with the British Minister of Industry at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Lee Rowley, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Victoria Prentis, and the Under-Secretary for Agricultural Innovation and Climate Adaptation Jo Churchill. He also visited the British Parliament at the Palace of Westminster, and the Natural History Museum in London accompanied by the British Minister of Industry, followed by a visit to the London Metal Exchange.

While meeting with several officials of major companies and British investors in London, Al-Khorayef stressed the importance of strengthening communication with the Kingdom to identify qualitative opportunities in the industrial and mining sectors. The minister also renewed an invitation to the British side to Riyadh’s annual International Mining Conference.

The Minister concluded the visit with an open meeting with investors in the mining sector where he highlighted the investment opportunities in the sector, stressing the organizational maturity that the Kingdom has reached through the mining investment system and solid infrastructure that makes the Kingdom a global destination for investors in the mining sector.
