Pilgrims Complete Stoning Three Jamarats for 1st Day of Tashreeq

Mina, July 10, 2022, SPA — The pilgrims completed the stoning of the three Jamarats today, the first day of Tashreeq, amid careful organization from all relevant sectors in order to maintain the safety of the pilgrims.

KSrelief Distributes Over 89 Tons of Food Baskets in Several Districts of Yemeni Governorate of Al-Mahra

Al-Mahra, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has distributed 89 tons and 238 food baskets in Al-Ghaydah, Huswain and Al-Masila districts in Al-Mahra governorate, Yemen benefiting 5,004 people.

This aid comes as an extension of the relief and humanitarian efforts being provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Center, to help countries and peoples around the world.

More than 900 Media Professionals Transmit Pilgrimage to All Over the World

Mina, More than 900 media professionals representing various newspapers, TV and radio channels, as well as Arab, regional and international news agencies were able to transmit the Hajj rituals for this year’s Hajj season 1443 Hijri (2022) to different countries of the world and in different languages, supported by the advanced equipment and technologies provided by the Saudi Ministry of Media to enable them to perform their direct and video coverage, media messages and documentary reports in a manner that advances the status of this Islamic ritual.

The media materials that were published and transmitted through these media outlets participating in the Hajj season focused on the reflection of the faith image and the live scenes with which the hearts of the pilgrims coexisted, who were embraced by the Land of the Holy Sites to perform their rituals in an atmosphere of serenity and dignity as highlighting the efforts of the Kingdom in serving the pilgrims, and the concerted efforts of the various parties participating in this season.

The news media have contributed to transmitting culture and conveying the lofty message of Islam to all countries of the earth, introducing the world to the pillar of Hajj and the rites of the true religion, and showing the great messages of the Islamic religion from the gathering of obedient hundreds of thousands of Muslims in one place at a specific time.

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Receives Mufti of Chechen Republic in Mina

Mina, The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President of Council of Senior Scholars and General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh has received at his residence in Mina, the Grand Mufti of the Chechen Republic Sheikh Salah Mezhiev who came to greet and congratulate him on the blessed Eid Al-Adha.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials.

Inaugurated the distribution of meat of 2,000 sacrifice animals in the Federal Republic of Somalia and Somaliland, targeting 48,000 people, as part of a project to distribute sacrificial meat for the blessed Eid al-Adha for the year 1443 Hijri (2022).

During the first day of the feast, the meat of 1,350 sacrifice animals were distributed, of which 350 in the capital Mogadishu, 800 in Baidoa governorate in the South West State, and 200 in Hargeisa, benefiting 32,000 people.

KSrelief Director in Africa Youssef bin Bakheet Rahma explained that this project comes within the relief and humanitarian programs and projects of the Center to alleviate the suffering of the people in Somalia and Somaliland, and to bring joy and happiness to their hearts on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, where the total number of the sacrifice animals distributed during the days of Eid reached 2,000 ones to benefit 48,000 people in need, the displaced and those affected by drought in most of the Somali regions.

This comes within the framework of the continuous efforts of the Kingdom, represented by the Center, to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to fraternal and friendly countries and peoples in various circumstances and times.

Industrial Production Index Increased by 24% in May 2022, GASTAT Reports

Riyadh, July 10, 2022, SPA – The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has announced, in a report, that the Industrial Production Index (IPI) has increased in May 2022 by 24% compared to May 2021. The IPI continued to show positive growth rates due to the high production in the three sub-sectors mining and quarrying, manufacturing, and electricity and gas supplies.

According to GASTAT’s report, the mining and quarrying grew by 23.3% in May 2022 compared to May 2021. The manufacturing activity also increased by 28.8% compared to the same month of the previous year, the electricity and gas supplies increased by 3%.

Compared to April 2022, the overall IPI increased by 1.2%. Mining and quarrying showed a month-on-month growth rate of 0.9%. The manufacturing sector increased by 0.2%, electricity and gas supplies increased by 24.9%. The impact of growth in the electricity and gas supplies index on the IPI was limited due to its small weight in the index, says the report.

Governor of Makkah Hands over Holy Kaaba Kiswa to the Holy Grand Mosque’s Chief Guardian

Mina, On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah region handed over the Kiswa of the holy Kaaba to the Chief Guardian of the Holy Grand Mosque, Dr. Saleh bin Zain-ul-Abidin Al-Shaibi, accompanied by the General President of the Affairs of the Holy Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, Dr. Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais.

The handover ceremony was held at the headquarters of Makkah’s Principality in the holy site of Mina, in the presence of Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah region.

The handover and receipt minutes were signed between the General President of the Affairs of the Holy Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, and the chief guardian of the Holy Grand Mosque, in preparation for the replacement of Kaaba’s Kiswa on the first of the month of Muharram 1444 Hijri.

The Kiswa is made of special natural silk that is dyed black and manufactured by King Abdulaziz Complex For Holy Kaaba Kiswa, which is located at Umm Al-Jude district in Makkah.

The height of Kiswa is 14 metres, and in the upper third of it there is a belt with 95 centimeters wide and 47 meters long, consisting of 16 pieces surrounded by a square of Islamic decoration.

The Kiswa consists of four pieces of cloth, each piece covering one side of the holy Kaaba, and the 5th piece is the curtain that is placed on the door of the holy Kaaba and its manufacture passes through several stages.

The holy Kaaba’s Kiswa needs a manpower of more than 200 employees.

Media Minister Receives Iraqi Adam Mohammed Who Travelled from UK to Makkah On Foot to Perform Hajj

Mina, Acting Minister of Media, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi received at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mina today, Adam Mohammed, the British citizen of Iraqi decent, who came to the Kingdom on foot from the United Kingdom to perform Hajj.

Minister Al-Qasabi was briefed on the stages and circumstances of the journey, which lasted 10 months and 25 days, starting from British Wolverhampton, passing through 11 countries: Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan to the Kingdom to settle in Makkah to perform the rituals of Hajj.

The Iraqi traveler Adam Mohammed expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Ministry of media, at the forefront of them is the Minister Al-Qasabi for hosting him and finalizing his Hajj permit procedures to be among the pilgrims of this year’s Hajj season 2022.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Hails Ties with Egypt As Strong

Mina, The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Ministry’s Works on Hajj, Umrah and Visit Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leadership has made great achievements through the services provided to pilgrims all over the holy sits since the pilgrim enters the airports to get his/her visa until the completion of Hajj as he/she enjoys all the ways of comfort, health and security, citing the Kingdom’s great ability to accommodate pilgrims and create the appropriate conditions to make pilgrims performing the rituals at best.

This came in press statements following a meeting with the Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam held this evening at the Ministry’s headquarters in the holy site of Mina.

He also confirmed the technological development witnessed by all the holy sites of Hajj this year to keep pace with all the reasons that had to provide the best service for those coming to these holy lands, stressing that modern technology is now in a rapid and tangible development in light of the great renaissance that the Kingdom is going through to reach the best places that the Kingdom should reach.

Al Al-Sheikh stressed that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs is spreading moderation and tolerance amid a consensus in visions with the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, in accordance with the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, which represents the appreciation that the Kingdom’s scholars have for the scholars of Egypt, and the respect that Egyptian scholars have for the scholars of the Kingdom.

He highly commended the cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Dar Al-Ifta, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Ministry of Awqaf in Egypt, as they are working in accordance with what was mentioned in the holy Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah, spreading religion with wisdom and justice, and not exploiting religion for worldly interests.

Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Visits Command and Control Center of Public Security in Mina

Mina, July 10, 2022, SPA — Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah region paid a visit today to the Command and Control Center of Public Security in Mina.

Upon his arrival, Prince Badr was received by Director of Public Security and Chairman of the Hajj Security Committee, Lieutenant-General Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Bassami.

Prince Badr bin Sultan was briefed on the work mechanisms of the center, including receiving and dealing with contacts and monitoring all security, traffic and organizational plans with more than 8000 surveillance cameras.
