Minister of Industry Inaugurates Workshop to Shed Light on Services, Incentives Offered by Industrial System, Partners

Riyadh– Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef has inaugurated a workshop to shed light on services and incentives offered by the industrial and mineral resources system and its partners, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Osamah Al-Zamel and several Korean and local investors.

The workshop discussed several steps, enablers and promising opportunities that are provided by the industrial sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the roles of institutions of the industrial system and government institutions participating in serving investors, in addition to explaining several advantages and incentives that various institutions of the system offer to empower industrial investors and enrich their experiences.

The workshop also reviewed the targets of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) that aims at changing the Kingdom into an industrial power and a logistic hub through increasing the added value for the mining and energy sectors and empowering the local content and fourth industrial revolution.

The workshop also included a proposal to establish the Saudi-Korean industrial village project in Yanbu Industrial City so as to support the ”Made in Saudi Program” and realize its strategic goals according to the plans of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Saudi Tourism Authority Signs Over 90 Agreements and MoU in Dubai ATM 2022

Dubai– The pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has concluded its remarkable participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which was held in Dubai, UAE for 4 days of May, during which the Saudi Tourism Authority was distinguished by a record number of partners of the Saudi tourism system, amounting to 29 partners who succeeded in highlighting the treasures of Saudi tourism, and its diversity, depth and tremendous opportunities, in addition to the success in re-communicating and confirming the commitment with the tourism industry and major international companies, by holding more than 4,000 meetings and concluding more than 90 partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding, paving the way for a renewed stage of cooperation and integration to contribute to the stability, growth and sustainability of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.

On this occasion, Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO and board member of the Saudi Tourism Authority confirmed that the Kingdom enjoys the confidence of the tourism industry and major international companies, which translates the volume and quality of agreements and memoranda of understanding that were concluded in Dubai ATM 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the Saudi pavilion in Dubai ATM 2022 has announced a number of new programs, agreements and partnerships for 2022.

ARADO Kicks off General Assembly Meetings in Cairo

Cairo– The General Assembly’s meetings of the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) kicked off today its 57th ordinary session in Cairo, chaired by the Palestinian National Authority General Personnel Council Minister Mousa Abu Zaid.

The Kingdom’s delegation to the meeting was headed by Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, in the presence of Director of the Institute of Public Administration Dr. Bandar Al-Sajjan.

The meeting will discuss several topics, including the election of a new Executive Board for the next two years (May 2022 – May 2024), and will review the Financial and Administrative Control Authority’s report on the organization’s performance during the past four years.

Upon Directives of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, KSrelief Hands over Humanitarian Assistance to the Philippines

Manila– Upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) handed over today humanitarian assistance to the Philippines worth USD 3.2 million, including in-kind assistance of medical and preventive equipment and devices with a value of USD 1.7 million to address the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and delivering a financial support to the Philippine Ministry of Health worth USD 1.5 million to alleviate the impacts of the Typhoon Rai that recently hit the country, and to help health relief and emergency works in Marawi City.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Director of the Department of Health and Environment Assistance at KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Muallem handed over the financial and in-kind support to the Philippine side in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to the Philippines Hisham Al-Qahtani and several Philippine officials at the headquarters of the Filipino Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Manila.

The Philippine side praised the Saudi support through KSrelief, extending sincere appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its generous support and solidarity with the Philippines in addressing its health and natural crises.

This is part of KSrelief’s keenness for its programs to include all humanitarian and relief sectors for the needy and afflicted countries around the world according to their actual needs in coordination with government partners and UN, international and local organizations to reach beneficiaries and limit the ramifications of humanitarian crises.

Al-Hajraf: GCC is a Pillar of Security and Stability in the Region

Muscat– Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf reiterated that the GCC is a pillar of security and stability in the region and a pioneer of comprehensive development, safeguarding achievements and gains and moving towards the future with confidence and ambition.

Al-Hajraf stressed that the Gulf Cooperation Council is a well-established entity based on a solid foundation and works for the future to preserve the gains of its countries and nations, highlighting the achievements of the GCC during the past four decades and the most important stations that formed a milestone in its march.

This came during the GCC Secretary General’s visit today to the headquarters of the Omani National Defense College, Bait Al-Falaj Camp, in Muscat, where he was received by Head of the Academy for Strategic and Defense Studies, Major General Engineer Saleh bin Yahya Al Maskari, and senior officials of the college.

Saudi Athletes Achieve Great Victories in the 2nd Day of the GCC Games Tournament in Kuwait

Kuwait City, May 17, 2022, SPA — Saudi athletes taking part in the GCC third games tournament, currently ongoing in Kuwait, made great strides in the second day of the event which is scheduled to proceed until the end of May 2022, collecting as many as 12 different-level medals, it was announced today.

During the second day of the activities, Saudi players garnered four gold medals, two silver and six bronze, organizers announced.

This brings to 19 (five gold, five silver and nine bronze) the number of medals won by the Saudi sports mission so far.

Satisfaction of Visitors of Outdoor Facilities of General Presidency of Two Holy Mosques Measured in Six Languages

Makkah– The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and Prophet’s Holy Mosque, represented by the department of visitors’ experience, has provided several QR code panels to measure the level of satisfaction of visitors of outdoor facilities affiliated with the presidency including the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kiswah of Kaabah and Al-Haram Al-Sharif Library.

The QR code panels at the complex and library aim at measuring the interactive satisfaction of visitors in six international languages through a special website supervised by the agency of measuring performance, quality and institutional excellence at the presidency, so as to reach the highest level of modern technologies and instill their role in improving the level of performance and developing the business and service environment, and the continuity of comprehensive administrative and technological development plans for the system.

Director of Islamic Affairs of Al-Madinah Branch Receives General Mufti of Kosovo

Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, May 17, 2022, SPA — The Director General of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah Region Branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance (MIACG) Wajab bin Ali Al-Otaibi has received in Guba Mosque visiting General Mufti of the Republic of Kosovo Naeem Tervana, who is also Head of the Islamic Mashikha in Kosovo, and the accompanying delegation, it was reported today.

During his tour of the mosque, which took place yesterday, Sheikh Tervana was briefed on the services being offered to visitors and Umrah performers, expressing thanks to and appreciation of the Saudi prudent leadership for the services they extend to Islamic and Muslims in Kosovo and the entire world. He also extended thanks to the MIACG for the efforts it was exerting in the service of Islamic call, Islam religion, Muslims as well as the people of Kosovo.

President of SAFF Participates in AFC General Assembly Meeting

Riyadh– The President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), Yasser Al-Mis’hal, participated today in the 32nd session of the General Assembly of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), which was held via video conference, in the presence of the Vice-President of SAFF, Member of the Executive Office of the AFC, Khaled Al-Thubaiti, and Secretary-General Ibrahim Al-Qasim.

The meeting was chaired by the President of the AFC, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, in the presence of the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, who renewed his congratulations to the Saudi national team and the teams qualified for the 2022 World Cup.

Saudi Arabia Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attacks on Military Base of African Union Peacekeeping Forces in Somalia

Riyadh– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attacks that led to the killing of 10 soldiers and the wounding of 25 others on May 3 and 13, 2022, following the attack by elements of Somali Al-Shabaab group on a military base of the African Union peacekeeping forces in Somalia.

The ministry affirmed that the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stand with the government and people of the sisterly Republic of Somalia, asking Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy upon the souls of the deceased and a speedy recovery for the injured.

Saudi Stock Exchange Main Index Ends Trading Higher at 12,713.38 Points

Riyadh– Saudi Stock Exchange’s main index ended trading higher here today, gaining 23.51 points to close at 12,713.38 points.

The total value of the trading reported was SAR 8.9 billion, while the toll of shares traded was 190 million, divided into over 396,000 deals.

The Saudi Parallel Equity Market Index (NOMU) ended the day gaining 144.91 points, to close at 22,832.38 points, with a valuation of SAR 21 million and an overall tally of more than 377,000 stocks traded and divided into as many as 1,255 deals.

Air Force Commander Receives Commander of Qatari Emiri Air Force

Riyadh– The Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant-General Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, received here today, the Commander of the Qatar Emiri Air Force, Major General Pilot Jassem Mohamed Al-Mannai and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of topics of common interest.
