Sunni Endowments Chairman hails Saudi leading role

Sunni Endowments Council Chairman, Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajeri, has stressed the importance of the Islamic conference titled “Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta and Sheikhdoms in the World” in addressing issues and benefiting from scholars and their expertise.

Dr. Al Hajeri noted that the conference is an important event to develop the message of religious institutions in light of modern challenges, reports Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Al-Hajeri added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a leader of Islamic action in all political, religious and intellectual issues and is keen on the stability and peace of all regional countries.

He also said that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawa and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys a significant role in addressing and correcting mistakes in scientific and intellectual arenas through spreading moderation and fighting extremism and terrorism. He expressed hope for the conference’s success.

HH Shaikh Nasser: Bahrain keen to involve youth in efforts to achieve SDGs

Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the kingdom has provided optimal conditions for youth to showcase their capabilities, and instilled the values and principles of leadership and ambition among them, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, said.

In a statement marking the International Youth Day 2023, which is observed worldwide on August 12 under the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”, HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the kingdom had devised a well-thought-out strategic plan to empower youth and provide them with all opportunities to be future leaders.

His Highness also highlighted the kingdom’s keenness to involve youth in its national initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs), as they are the most capable of understanding the future.

“Youth have the necessary potential, and are the main engine for achieving sustainable development. We have great confidence in their ability to share their ideas and initiatives with their international counterparts on ways to achieve SDGS, and build a developed world based on a green economy to protect the universe from all aspects, including the environment,” His Highness said.

“We have been keen to secure a positive environment that supports Bahraini youth in all fields, improve programmes, initiatives and innovations related to capacity and skills development, support entrepreneurs and their projects based on the green foundations of the Bahraini economy, as well as enhance the role of youth because of their capabilities to find innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to advancing the green growth process to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development,” HH added.

HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his confidence in Bahraini youth’s ability to continue their patriotic efforts and come up with initiatives and ideas that would enable the kingdom to achieve SDGs.

Russian MoD Confirms The Death Of 575 Ukrainian Soldiers On A Number Of Combat Fronts In Ukraine

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed, today, Friday, that its forces targeted a point of temporary deployment of the Ukrainian army in the city of Zaporizhia, pointing out that the Ukrainian losses on various fronts amounted to about 575 people.

In its daily report on the progress of the military operation in Ukraine, the ministry stated that its forces continued, over the past 24 hours, their offensive operations on a wide front on the Kobyansk axis, and hit a temporary deployment point in the city of Zaporizhia, where they eliminated 575 Ukrainian soldiers, in addition to shooting down 16 drones, intercepting two missiles, and destroying four ammunition depots.

It indicated that the total destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation has reached so far: 458 aircraft, 245 helicopters, 5,654 drones, 429 anti-aircraft missile systems, 11,230 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,444 rocket launchers, and 5,847 pieces of field artillery and mortars, and 12,176 special military vehicles.

In a related context, Moscow confirmed that it had thwarted a Ukrainian attack with a drone that was targeting a facility in the heart of the capital

Turan: We Formed A Unified Turkmen List In Kirkuk

The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Hassan Turan, announced the formation of a unified Turkmen list to participate in the local elections.

He said in a statement, “We have promised and fulfilled our promise by forming a Unified Turkmen Front list that expresses the national aspirations of the Turkmens of Iraq.”

He added, “In loyalty to the blood of our righteous martyrs and the will and determination of our honorable people, we formed our Unified Turkmen Front to defend our national identity and our fateful issues, and our decision is to obtain the Turkmen right and achieve justice for the future of the Turkmen.

Most Of Iraq’s Governorates Will Continue To Record Temperatures Around 50 Or Higher Until Next Monday

The Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring Authority expected that most of Iraq’s governorates will continue to record temperatures around fifty degrees Celsius or higher, until next Monday.

“The weather forecasting department previously noted that the country was affected by a severe heat wave as a result of the deepening of the seasonal heat depression, starting from today, Friday, and continuing until next Monday,” Amer Al-Jabri, media director of the Meteorology Authority, told the official agency.

He added, “All regions of the country will be affected, especially the center and the south, as it is expected that temperatures will be recorded in the range of 50-52 degrees Celsius,” noting that “the temperatures have been fluctuating since last July, between high and low, as they decreased by 3-4 degrees before the new heat wave.”

He continued, “Climate change is one of the causes affecting the rise and fluctuation of temperatures, so we see that it is between a continuous rise and fall, and we believe that the fluctuation will continue until the middle of next September, when temperatures begin to decline.”

A Factory For Converting Light And Medium Weapons Seized In Baghdad

The Ministry of Interior announced, today, Friday, the seizure of a factory for converting light and medium weapons during an inspection operation, east of Baghdad.

A statement by the ministry said, “A force from the Eighteenth Brigade, the Fifth Division, Federal Police, and with the support of intelligence effort detachments, carried out a search for unlicensed weapons in the (Sadr City) region, which resulted in finding a factory for converting and maintenance of light and medium weapons, and seizing spare parts for various weapons and tools.”

The Pentagon Marks An “Unprecedented Decrease” In ISIS Activity And Obtains 10,000 “Sleeper Names” Around The World

The Pentagon announced an “unprecedented decrease” in terrorist activities carried out by ISIS inside Iraq and Syria during the recent period, stressing the commitment and continuation of the US forces to combat the organization inside the two countries.

The Pentagon said in a statement that the monthly reports on the activities of the terrorist organization showed an “unprecedented decrease” in the percentage of operations carried out by the organization inside Iraq and Syria, announcing the arrest of twenty-four members of the organization inside Iraq and eleven others in Syria.

For his part, the commander of the US Central Command confirmed, during a statement issued yesterday, Thursday, that the US forces “continue in partnership with the Iraqi security services and the Syrian Democratic Forces to confront the challenges posed by ISIS in the region,” noting, “the continued presence of US forces in the region until ensuring the organization’s complete defeat.” he said.

The American leadership also revealed during the statement that it had obtained “intelligence documents through cooperation with Turkish intelligence” containing the addresses, names and identities of 9952 terrorist elements belonging to the organization spread around the world in “sleeper cells”, without confirming the issuance of any actions against them until now.

WAFA: ONE PALESTINIAN KILLED, 4 INJURED BY ISRAELI GUNFIRE IN TULKARM

A Palestinian was killed and four others were injured by Israeli army gunfire last night in an Israeli military raid of Tulkarm refugee camp in the north of the occupied West Bank, according to medical sources. WAFA correspondent quoted the sources as saying that Mahmoud Jihad Jarad, 23, was killed after being fatally shot by a live Israeli shot in the chest. Four others sustained injuries in the abdomen, pelvis, foot and shoulder respectively. Jarad was first admitted to nearby Thabet Thabet Public Hospital in critical condition before he was announced dead of his wounds, medical sources said. The condition of one of the four injured was also described as critical. At least 220 Palestinians have been murdered by the Israeli occupation forces since the beginning of the year, which is the highest seven-month average since the end of the Second Palestinian Intifda in 2005.

KSrelief Distributes 25,000 Bread Bundles Daily in North Lebanon

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued to implement the Al-Amal Charity Bakery project in its fourth phase for the year 2023, in Akkar Governorate and Miniyeh-Danniyeh District in Lebanon. The project distributes 25,000 bread bundles daily to needy Syrian, Palestinian and host community families in north Lebanon.

This is part of the humanitarian assistance provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to help refugees in the world.
