Today, Friday, the Swedish authorities again allowed the Iraqi citizen residing in its lands, Silwan Momica, to burn another copy of the Qur’an, under police protection, this time in front of the Iranian embassy, 4 days after he burned the Qur’an in front of the Swedish parliament.
A woman who was among those gathered in the place tried to extinguish the burning Quran using a fire extinguisher, but the Swedish police intervened and stopped her.
Momika burned the Qur’an in front of the Tehran embassy building in Stockholm, and wiped his foot with the Iranian flag and the image of its president, Ibrahim Raisi, according to Anadolu Agency, which indicated that Momika ran over the Holy Qur’an and then burned it with a picture of Raisi and the Iranian and Iraqi flags, and another Iraqi citizen, Silwan Najm, helped him in that.
The two left the place with “a police armored car after the burning of the Qur’an ended, and they were accompanied by several cars and about 100 policemen,” according to the agency.
The burning of the Qur’an today, comes a day after Sweden raised the alert level associated with the risk of “terrorist” acts from 3 to 4 on an ascending scale of 5 degrees, against the backdrop of threats after burning copies of the Qur’an on its lands.
