Healthcare Private Sector’s Contribution Witnesses a Remarkable 400% Growth in Hajj Season 1445 AH

Mina: The healthcare private sector played a significant role in the Hajj season 1445 AH, marking a growth of over 400% compared to the previous season. The increase reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the private sector, expanding healthcare services, improving quality, and ensuring the well-being of pilgrims visiting the Grand Mosque.

The healthcare private sector actively worked with various entities within the healthcare system to provide care through multiple channels and diverse operational models. The collaboration aligns with the Ministry of Health’s initiative to empower the private sector in Mina, resulting in over 62 healthcare facilities and ambulance points.

Furthermore, the private sector extended its support by providing ambulance services to passengers of Al-Mashaer Al-Mugaddasah Metro Line operated by the Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR). Private-sector entities strategically positioned ambulance services at 18 locations along the train’s route
in the Holy Sites, ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims.

In addition, the private sector manages two out of 25 health centers under the Ministry of Health’s jurisdiction. These centers are equipped with a comprehensive healthcare team and ambulances, reflecting seamless integration with the healthcare system.

The Ministry of Health’s initiatives to strengthen partnerships with the private sector are aligned with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both key components of Saudi Vision 2030. The initiatives aim to expand healthcare services, enhance the quality of care for pilgrims, and create an integrated work system to ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable Hajj experience.
