National Campaign for Charity Receives More than SR262 Million in Donation in the First Three Hours

Riyadh, By the grace and generosity of Allah Almighty, the national campaign for charitable work witnessed in its second year a wide turnout of donors during the first hours of its launch by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). The campaign has witnessed two generous donations from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince.

The volume of donations received by the national campaign for charitable work, organized by SDAIA at the headquarters of Ehsan platform, exceeded 262 million Saudi Riyals in the first three hours of its launch, an increase of 50 million Saudi Riyals over the donations received in the launch of the first version last Ramadan, bringing the total donations received by Ehsan platform to one billion and 745 million Saudi Riyals, while the second national campaign for charitable work will continue to receive donations from individuals, companies, banks, donors and facilitators, through the platform’s application and website https://ehsan.sa/, in addition to the benefactors’ call center via the number 8001247000.

The national campaign for charitable work, in its second year, was launched with two generous donations by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH Crown Prince with an amount of SR50 million.

It will go on allowing the donations of major donors from the private and non-profit sectors, in addition to the participation of all segments of donors from different regions of the Kingdom, motivated and inspired by their wise leadership, the values of generosity, and giving and charity in this holy season.

The National Campaign for Charitable Action was launched in its second edition, via live coverage from the campaign headquarters, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Ehsan platform, President of SDAIA and the Chairman of the Sharia Committee of the Ehsan Platform, Advisor at the Royal Court, member of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Mutlaq.

The success Ehsan platform has achieved is due to the continuous keenness of HRH the Crown Prince to empower and develop the charitable and non-profit sector, raise its efficiency and increase the level of its reliability through a solid digital structure that works according to high governance contributing to achieving the noble goals and lofty purposes of the Kingdom’s vision.

The campaign’s goals are to maximize the impact of the charitable sector.

It is worth mentioning that Ehsan platform is monitored by a supervisory committee consisting of twleve government agencies, and a legal committee chaired by the Advisor at the Royal Court and member of the Council of Senior Ulema Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Mutlaq, which has earned the platform its reliability and societal demand for its charitable opportunities, to witness the various charitable fields the wide impact that it was achieved by the donations of charitable people, benefiting more than 4 million and 465,ooo beneficiaries.

Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Programs for Breakfasting and Dates Distribution Launched in Bangladesh

Dakka, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has launched, at the headquarters of the Saudi embassy in the Bangladeshi capital, Dakka, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Programs for Breakfasting and Dates Distribution in the attendance of Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa bin Yousef Al-Dihailan and the Acting in charge of the Religious Office at the embassy Ali Al-Zughaibi.

The programs include distributing 15 tons of fine dates over 45000 beneficiaries and Ramadan food baskets each weighing 20-kg over more than 129000 fasters of the holy month of Ramadan this year.

To highlight the occasion, Ambassador Al-Dihailan said that the project comes under directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to be held in Ramadan in more than 94 countries of the world, including Bangladesh.

As many as 22000 Copies of the Holy Quran Gifted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Readers in Mosques of Tunisia

Tunis, Tunisia’s Minister of Religious Affairs Ibrahim Al-Shaebi received in his office in Tunis the Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr who delivered 22000 copies of the Holy Quran, published by Madinah-based King Fahd Complex for the Publication of the holy Quran, as a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to readers of the holy book in mosques of Tunisia.

The gift is distributed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in coordination with Saudi embassies abroad.

To highlight the occasion, Tunisia’s Minister of Religious Affairs extended thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for their keenness to provide whatever serves Islam and Muslims all over the world.

Al-Shaebi praised the efforts exerted by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the service of the holy book, citing that every year additional copies are received in mosques of Tunisia.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Saqr said the gift reflects the keenness of the Saudi government to serve Islam and Muslims, citing that the program, implemented by the ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in coordination with Saudi embassies abroad covers millions of copies of the holy Quran and its translations in 76 international languages.

Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Programs for Fasting and Dates Distribution Launched in Indonesia

Jakarta, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration and coordination with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs and a number of the Indonesian official societies, has launched, at the headquarters of the Saudi embassy in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Programs for Fasting and Dates Distribution in the attendance of Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia Isaam bin Ahmad Al-Thaqafi.

The programs include distributing 2,500 Ramadan food baskets, 15 tons of fine dates and 200,000 copies of the Holy Quran.

KSrelief Distributes 1,400 Ramadan Food Baskets in Sudan

Darfur, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed yesterday 1,400 Ramadan food baskets in Darfur, Sudan, benefiting 8,400 families.

This aid is a part of Eta’am” initiative for the year 2022, which aims to distribute 156,993 food baskets weighing 8,430 tons during the holy month of Ramadan, in 19 countries, benefiting 901,463 individuals.

Pristina, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed yesterday 200 Ramadan food baskets in Pristina, Kosovo, benefiting 200 families including 1,000 individuals.

The initiative comes as an extension of the Ramadan projects provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, represented by the KSrelief, for the neediest families around the world.

United States Welcomes the Formation of Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen

Washington– The United States of America welcomed the announcement of the formation of a Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen

In a statement, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the US supports the aspirations of the Yemeni people in establishing an effective, democratic and transparent government comprising diverse political and civil society voices, adding that the most important matter is that Yemenis deserve a government that protects rights and freedoms in addition to enhancing justice, accountability and reconciliation.

The State Department’s statement confirmed that the US is committed to provide assistance to reach a permanent and comprehensive solution to the conflict in Yemen, urging all parties to choose the path of peace and dialogue.

HRH Crown Prince Visits Quba Mosque in Madinah

Madinah, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, visited Thursday evening Quba Mosque in Madinah, during which he performed the mosque greeting prayer.

Upon his arrival at the mosque, HRH Crown Prince was received by the Director General of the branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in Madinah, Sheikh Wajeb bin Ali Al-Otaibi; Imam and preacher of Quba Mosque, Sheikh Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Juhani, and Chief Muezzin of Quba Mosque, Sheikh Ahmed Hassan Bukhari.

EU Welcomes the Formation of a Presidential Leadership in Yemen

Brussels– The European Union welcomed Yemen President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi’s decision to transfer his powers to a presidential leadership council, appreciating the role the GCC has played for convening intra-Yemeni talks in support of the efforts of the UN envoy Hans Grundberg which led to this development.

In a statement, Peter Stano, Spokeperson of the EU External Affairs and Security Policy, said this encouraging move underpins the recent, UN-brokered, two-month truce between parties to the conflict, and could create further momentum for an inclusive political settelement of the conflict.

We encourage all active parties, particularly the Houthis, to respect the truce and engage with Grundberg without preconditions, said the statement.

The EU also welcomed Saudi Arabia and the UAE’s announcement of substantial financial support, and the Kingdom’s announcement on fuel assistance and contributions to the UN Humanitarian Response Plan, noting that this assistance provides vital support for the people of Yemen.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Receives Phone Call from Iraq’s President

Jeddah, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received a phone call today from President of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Barham Salih, during which the Iraqi President congratulated the King on advent of the blessed month of Ramadan.

In turn, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reciprocated his congratulations with the Iraqi President on the advent of Ramadan, praying to Allah the Almighty to return it back to the two brotherly countries and peoples with prosperity and happiness.
