Saudi, Turkish Defense Ministers Hold Expanded Bilateral Meeting


Ankara: Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Gler received Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz in Ankara on Tuesday. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Turkish Ministry of Defense during Prince Khalid bin Salman’s official visit to Trkiye.

The ministers held an expanded bilateral meeting, attended by the delegations of both ministries, discussing the various aspects of Saudi-Turkish relations. They addressed ways to further enhance and develop the existing and future cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries.

Additionally, they discussed efforts to achieve peace and their two countries’ joint endeavors to achieve security and stability in the region and the world.

Upon his arrival at the ministry’s headquarters, Prince Khalid bin Salman was welcomed by an official reception ceremony, where the national anthems of both countries were played and honor guards were displayed.

The two ministers exchanged greetings and handshakes with each
other’s delegations. They also took a commemorative photo, and Prince Khalid bin Salman signed the guestbook.

The reception was attended by Chief of the General Staff of Saudi Arabia Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Minister of Defense Talal Bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Khaled bin Hussein Al-Bayari, Saudi Ambassador to Trkiye Fahad bin Assaad Bin Abdulkareem Abualnasr, and Director-General of the Office of the Minister of Defense Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.

From Trkiye, several senior officials attended the meeting, including Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Metin Grak, and Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defense Bilal Durdali.
