SCFHS Announces 71% Increase of Saudi Board Acceptance


Riyadh: The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) announced the results of the second phase of the Saudi Board expansion project. Since 2021, the commission has achieved a 71% increase in admissions for all specialty programs, in line with its strategic objectives.

According to SCFHS, since 2021, there has been a 54% increase in admissions for the specialty of medicine and surgery, a 112% increase for dentistry, a 58% increase for pharmacy, a significant 187% increase for medical science specialties, and a substantial 232% increase for nursing. These have led to a total increase of 71% in admission seats for all specialties.

The Saudi Board has seen significant growth in the private sector’s contribution. Since 2021, the sector’s contribution in admission seats for the specialty of medicine and surgery has increased 110%, dentistry 215%, and pharmacy 100%, reflecting a fruitful partnership between the commission and the private sector to develop cadres in the health sector.

The commission has pri
oritized the geographic diversity of seats, providing opportunities for individuals from different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to join the board programs. The number of regions with training centers has reached 13, with notable increases in the percentage of training seats in various regions including Al-Baha by 135%, Al-Jawf by 1,250%, Asir by 69%, Eastern Region by 75%, Hail by 450%, Jazan by 165%, Madinah by 74%, Makkah by 42%, Najran by 108%, Northern Borders by 317%, Qassim by 158%, Riyadh by 63%, and Tabuk by 102%.
