Baghdad: The Intelligence Agency detachments specialized in combating organized crime in Diyala arrested two suspects in their possession of a quantity of mercury.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, “This came after monitoring intelligence information and field follow-up by the agency’s detachments and obtaining the necessary judicial approvals. Upon investigation, they explicitly confessed to bringing mercury from one of the governorates for the purpose of selling it in Diyala Governorate.
The statement added, “The vehicle they were riding was seized, and they were referred to the competent judicial authorities to receive their just punishment.” / End
