SPA, Major International News Agencies Partner to Cover Hajj Season

Makkah: The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) strives to broaden the coverage of the religious, cultural, and social aspects of Hajj, and broadcast it to all parts of the world through international media partnerships.

Since last February, SPA has actively collaborated with the major international and Islamic news agencies that are its partners in developing a joint media plan focusing on exchange of news and media expertise, and joint media production, to maximize the impact and ensure the global dissemination of the Hajj message.

Through its international partnerships and collaborations, SPA puts the spotlight on the facilities provided by the Kingdom to serve the pilgrims; it does so by distributing a variety of media material and presenting human stories through its official website and digital platforms, and through international media partners, in several languages.

SPA is committed to providing comprehensive coverage of the Hajj rituals in a professional manner that befits the importance of Hajj to Muslims w
orldwide. Through its work, it documents the entire journey of pilgrims.

Last year, SPA launched international media partnerships with four Islamic agencies during the Hajj season. This initiative resulted in the publishing of nearly 4,000 news items in over 15 languages.

In order to ensure the expansion of the Hajj coverage to all parts of the world, and maximize its impact and sustainability, this year SPA targeted 10 major news agencies with significant media leverage.
