Riyadh, Raidah Investment Company (RIC), the investment arm of the Public Pension Agency, announced that it has recently joined the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA), as the first Saudi asset management institution to join the association, and the second Saudi establishment after the Securities Depository Center (Edaa).

The CEO of RIC, Ali Al-Mansour, explained that the company joining to ISLA is a result of its efforts to implement global standards related to investment products and related administrative processes, in addition to creating a sustainable investment environment aimed at enabling knowledge growth and continuous cooperation with local and international institutions in achieving the desired goals for the development of the investment sector in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Mansour also added that RIC follows a clear approach to deal with financial service providers, according to which service providers are subject to strict standards in the Due Diligence stage, which include reviewing the technology and governance infrastructure of these financial institutions.

It is noteworthy that ISLA is an international association established in 1989 and includes the largest and oldest investment and financial organizations to represent the common interests of participants in securities lending and works closely with regulators around the world. Its activities include markets and prudential regulatory systems in addition to protecting investors.

Damascus, Presidential candidate Abdullah Salloum Abdullah has affirmed that all Syrians won as soon as the presidential elections were completed, which are considered a new victory for the Syrian people and for Syria.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page Abdullah expressed thanks and gratitude to the people of Syria in his name and on behalf of the Socialist Unionist Party for their enthusiasm and patriotism by their participation in the presidential elections.

“You are the ones who expressed all honesty, loyalty and belonging to the homeland … and you participated in this national achievement with all your freedom, awareness and patriotism … and your cry was loud in the face of Syria’s enemies, as we expected it,” he said.

He added, “I thank everyone who voted for me … and I affirm that we are all winners once these elections are completed, which are considered a new victory for the Syrian people and for Syria.”

He went on saying “We congratulate President Dr. Bashar al-Assad for his victory in the elections … and we affirm that we in the Socialist Unionist Party will remain as we were …by the side of our people, our army and leadership … we always strive to strengthen our national unity until the liberation of the entire Syrian soil from all the occupiers who have desecrated the homeland, and we always say our strength is through our unity.”

Dublin, Irish journalist Finian Cunningham said that the presidential elections in Syria achieved a “resounding success” after 10 years of the brutal war that the United States and its NATO partners imposed on Syria.

The Irish journalist affirmed in a comment published by Sputnik in English that the Syrians refused to be subjugated after years of NATO-backed terrorism in their country and chose their president of their own free will.

He added that the Syrian people remain defiant and independent after a decade-long grueling hardships in confronting terrorist mercenaries who have been secretly deployed as well as overt aggression by NATO military forces attacking Syria illegally in addition to the harsh economic sanctions war.

Cunningham said that despite all the hardships Syria has witnessed, the Syrian people turned out in droves to vote as the turnout exceeded 78 percent in the elections, and Dr. Bashar al-Assad was elected President of the Republic.

The Irish journalist and writer added that the results of the presidential elections in Syria were an astonishing and amazing achievement that refutes all the Western-Turkish narratives and fatwas targeting the Syrian leadership.

Cunningham stressed the failure of Western governments, their media and their servile companies to influence this epic popular Syrian demonstration and to create additional fabrications to their nefarious intrigues against Syria and its people, which forced the Western media to remain silent in the face of the election results.

The Irish writer concluded by saying: “If there is any justice prevailing in this world, Western politicians should be tried for committing war crimes.”

He added that the United States, Britain, France and other NATO powers, prior to the Syrian presidential elections, tried to distort the Syrian democratic will, and they claimed that the election process is neither fair nor free. However, the large numbers of Syrians who went out to vote and the subsequent scenes of jubilation throughout Syria confirm the lies of Western propaganda and reveal the criminality of the NATO forces and their misleading Media outlets.

Damascus, Syria has condemned in the strongest terms the systematic targeting of the Republic of Belarus by the United States and its tools of Western countries, calling on the international community to put an end to this behavior, which constitutes a serious threat to the international peace and security.

An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement to SANA on Sunday that the Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the systematic targeting of the Republic of Belarus by the United States and its tools of Western countries and the exercise of all forms of pressure, including the unilateral and illegitimate coercive measures to influence the Belarusian national decision, and the blatant interference in the internal affairs of Belarus.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Republic expresses full solidarity with the friendly Republic of Belarus, and it calls on the international community to put an end to this behavior by the United States and its tools, which constitutes a serious threat to the international peace and security.

Damascus countryside, Damascus countryside Education Directorate has announced on Sunday the arrival of the second batch of 120 Syrian students residing in Lebanon to take their exams within the centers of Damascus countryside province.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, Director of Damascus Countryside Education Directorate Maher al-Faraj said that the total number of the arriving students reached 290 Syrian students, pointing out that the directorate has designated three centers to host them at the two border towns of Yabous and Jdeidet Yabous, in addition to the town of al-Rawda.

Al-Faraj indicated that the directorate has completed all the necessary equipment to host the students, in cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Damascus Countryside Governorate, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization, including securing all accommodation and transportation requirements, providing psychological support, and developing programs to establish reinforcement courses and revising the curriculum during the exams period.

On Saturday, Damascus countryside Education Directorate announced the arrival of 170 Syrian students from Lebanon to take their exams within the Damascus province centers.
