Traffic Police Duty Patrols Strictly Control and Prevent Non-authorized Vehicles from Crossing Makkah Entrances, Public Security Spokesperson Announces

Mina, outskirts of Makkah, Public Security Spokesperson Brigadier Sami bin Mohammad Al-Shuwairekh, confirmed that, starting from 12:00 AM of Dhu Al-Hijjah 5, 1443H, the traffic police will carry out their tasks at the entrances of Makkah to control and prevent violating vehicles from entering the city and the holy sites.

Al-Shuwairekh clarified that licensed pilgrim-carrying transport vehicles and cars of authorized supervisors and employees are excluded from this ban.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud Monitors Readiness of Hajj Security Forces

Makkah, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, was reassured of the readiness of Hajj security forces to carry out their tasks in maintaining the security and safety of pilgrims.

This came during his patronage of the ceremony organized by the Hajj security forces participating in Hajj this year 1443 H.

In a speech during the ceremony, the Director of Public Security and Head of the Hajj Security Committee Lieutenant-General Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Basami affirmed the readiness of the security forces to perform their duties to maintain the security and safety of pilgrims and facilitate their performance of rituals, indicating that the forces began their duties in Makkah, Al-Madinah, the holy sites, all ports, and on all roads leading to Hajj areas.

In the presence of the Minister of Interior, the Hajj security forces conducted a number of security hypotheses, demonstrating the high professionalism of the security officers, and paraded special vehicles, armored vehicles and security aviation.

The ceremony was attended by Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Governor of Al-Madinah Region, and a number of senior officials.

President of Maldives Arrives in Madinah

Madinah– President of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih arrived in Madinah today to visit the Prophet’s Holy Mosque.

At Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, the President was received by Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah Region and a number of officials.

HRH Crown Prince chairs meeting of Council of Economic and Development Affairs

Jeddah — His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs has chaired the Council’s meeting held at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.

During the meeting, the council reviewed a number of economic and development issues, including the presentation submitted by the Ministry of Commerce with participation of Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and the Ministry of Economy and Planning regarding monitoring price levels of a number of products in the Kingdom’s markets.

HRH Crown Prince stressed the need to take into account the neediest citizens in the face of international developments that resulted in rising costs of some basic needs, affirming the important roles of ministries and government agencies concerning with monitoring international developments related to chains supplying, monitoring markets, product availability, price levels, protecting and encouraging fair competition, and combating and preventing monopolistic practices that affect legitimate competition or the interest of the consumer.

The Council was also briefed on the presentation submitted by the Ministry of Health regarding the health developments related to the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid 19), including an update on the epidemiological situation following the decision to lift the precautionary and preventive measures related to the Coronavirus pandemic, in addition to updates on administering vaccines, the most prominent preparations for this year’s Hajj season ( 1443 AH), and the state of the epidemiological situation internationally.

The Council followed up on the periodic presentation submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning regarding the analysis of opening economic activities and the impact of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) pandemic.

The Council has taken the necessary recommendations on these issues.
