Bronze Medals for Al-Qahtani and Al-Ahmadi at Youth MMA World Championships in Abu Dhabi

Saudi mixed martial arts team player Mohammed Al-Qahtani, has won the bronze in the Youth MMA World Championships, in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, after losing to the Tajik player, Abubakr Alijonzoda, in the under-57 kg competition.

Meanwhile, Saudi national team player for mixed martial arts, Abdullah Al-Ahmadi, has won the bronze in the Championship, in the under-56.7 kg competition, after defeating Czech player Patrik Kutil.

KSrelief distributes 2,422 food baskets in Pakistan

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued distributing food baskets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan yesterday, where 2,422 food baskets were distributed benefiting 16,954 individuals from the neediest groups, widows, orphans and people with disabilities.

This aid comes within a food security support project being implemented by the center in Pakistan to alleviate the suffering of the needy and affected people.

Jordan condemns deadly terrorist attack on Somali hotel

Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Saturday condemned a terrorist attack on a hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu, which left about a dozen people dead and wounded a number of others, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

The ministry’s spokesman Haitham Abu Al-Ful stressed Jordan’s strong condemnation of the terrorist attack, reiterating the Kingdom’s rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism.

He expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and brotherly people of Somalia and the families of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Kuwait Condemns Terrorist Attack on A Hotel In Somalia

The State of Kuwait has condemned the attack that targeted a hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu, which killed and injured a number of people.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a statement today, Saturday, the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the attack, stressing the principled and firm stance against violence and terrorism, offering its sincere condolences to the government and people of Somalia and to the families of the victims and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs Organizes a Training Course for Imams and Heads of Islamic Centers in Thailand

Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Islamic Affairs Awwad bin Sebti Al-Enezy opened here today during his current visit to the Kingdom of Thailand a training course for some 100 Imams and heads of Islamic centers in Thailand.

The several-day event aims to spread the values of toleration and co-existence of religions in the world of today, focusing on the moderation of Islam.

Addressing the gathering, a number of Thai Islamic leaders paid tribute to the unlimited support Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, are lending to Muslims and Islam all over the world.

Saudi Arabia advances in global education competitiveness indicators for the year 2022

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has progressed in the education, research, and innovation indicators per the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2022 report, issued by the Global Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), a reflection of the leadership’s support for the education sector at all levels.

The Kingdom’s ranking jumped to the 24th position in the report, compared to 32 in 2021, and advanced four positions in the education indicator, bringing the Kingdom to the 37th position compared to 41 last year, in addition to advancing two steps in the scientific infrastructure indicator, garnering the 30th position this year compared to the 32nd position in 2021. This achievement contributed to the Kingdom’s progress in the infrastructure indicators, one of the main indexes of the report, as the Kingdom made it to the 34th position compared to 36 last year, maintaining an upward trajectory since 2018.

The Kingdom’s education sector achieved advanced results in education, research, and innovation indicators on the global competitiveness indicators this year, as the Kingdom advanced nine places in the university education achievements index ranking 28th in 2022 compared to 37 last year.

The Kingdom also jumped to 31st place this year in the global rankings of universities, which relates to the classification of “Times Higher Education” magazine for world universities, compared to the 39th position in 2021, in addition to reaching the 26th position in the intellectual property rights index during 2022 compared to the 30th rank last year.

Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan visits King Abdulaziz University to discuss cooperation

Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, Dr. Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov, has visited King Abdulaziz University where he had a meeting with the university officials and discussed ways of activating joint scopes of cooperation and realizing the recommendations of the joint committee between the two countries to boost cooperation in education, scientific research, and innovation.

The two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding tackling the fields of scientific research, innovation, educational fields, training, exchange of expertise, and the establishment of a joint research center.

The Uzbekistan delegation toured some of the university’s facilities, including the Center for Entrepreneurship, the Center for Skills and Clinical Simulation at the University Hospital, as well as the King Fahd Center for Medical Research, where they were briefed on the tasks and services provided by those facilities.

Al-Jadah Health Center clinics in Midi District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen, provided medical services for 19,860 patients during the month of July 2022 AD.

This aid comes within a project being implemented by the Center to support the health sector in Yemen to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Ukrainian Usyk, British Joshua Compete for World Heavyweight Boxing Title in Jeddah

Jeddah will host later today (Saturday) “Rage on the Red Sea”: World Heavyweight Championship’s rematch, which will bring together the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and the British Anthony Joshua at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The event, which includes 10 other fights, will start at 6 pm today and the main fight will start at 1 am.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s hosting of this fight comes as part of the efforts of the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Boxing Federation, to achieve the strategic goals aimed at continuing the Kingdom to host the most important and largest international sporting events, as a global destination to host such major global competitions, in addition to the diversity of hosting events and programs, in light of the unprecedented support by the Kingdom’s leadership so as to contribute to the opening of new horizons for Saudi sports and athletes.

Today will witness the establishment of several boxing fights that precede the big event, starting from 06:00 pm, as a group of world middleweight boxers will participate, led by the British professional boxer Callum Smith, and the Swedish lightweight world champion Badou Jack, along with the British boxer Ramla Ali, and the Saudi boxer Ziyad Al-Mayouf.

It is worth mentioning that the Red Sea fight is the second international fight hosted by the Kingdom after the great success that was achieved in the fight that was held in Ad Diriyah Boxing Arena in December 2019 and was won by the British boxer Anthony Joshua during which he was crowned the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship, after defeating his Mexican professional boxer, Andy Ruiz Jr., by total points, after the end of the last round.

Minister of Culture of Thailand Confirms his Country’s Keenness on Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation with Saudi Arabia in Cultural and Knowlege Fields

Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand Itthiphol Khunpluem met here today with visiting Undersecretary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance for Islamic Affairs Sheikh Awwad bin Sebti Al-Enezy in the attendance of the Saudi Charge de Affaires in Thailand Isam bin Saleh Al-Jitaili and a number of Thai officials.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of mutual concern to the two friendly countries, particularly those related to cultural centers and ways to support them.

For his part, the Thai minister confirmed his country’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the cultural and knowledge fields and spreading joint values and benefiting from the Saudi ministry of Islamic Affairs experience in thefield of disseminating the values of tolerance in a way that serves Thai Muslims.

KSrelief continues distributing bread to refugees in North Lebanon

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued the implementation of the third phase of the Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project in Akkar and Miniyeh district in Lebanon, as 20,000 parcels of bread are being distributed daily to Syrians and Palestinian refugees as well as the host community living in northern Lebanon, benefiting 10,000 families, at a rate of two packs per each family.

This project comes within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts through the center to help refugees and provide them with basic foodstuffs.
