KSrelief Mobile Medical Nutritional Clinics Provide Treatment Services for Over 35,000 Beneficiaries in Hodeida Governorate, Yemen

Hodeida– The Mobile Medical Nutritional Clinics of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) provided treatment services for 35,969 beneficiaries in Al-Khawkhah Directorate, Hodeida Governorate, Yemen, during July, 2022.

The laboratory department also received 4,397 people while 12,183 individuals were provided with medications.

India: Dozens of people die in flash floods

New Dheli– Several dozen people have died in flash floods across India over the past few days, the dpa reported. More heavy rainfall is expected in the next few days in several parts of the country, according to the India Metrological Department forecast on Monday.

Rescue operations are under way. Six children drowned on Sunday in the state of Jharkhand, stuck in standing water in an abandoned graphite mine, according to a report by local news agency PTI, citing police.

In the particularly badly affected state of Himachal Pradesh, more than 90 roads were recently blocked due to landslides, The Indian Express reported on Monday. In parts of Madhya Pradesh state, schools remained shut on Monday, according to PTI.

Heavy rain causing severe flooding and landslides is normal in the current monsoon season throughout South Asia. The season typically lasts from June to September. The damage is often extensive, regularly sweeping away buildings and causing fatalities. However, the rains are vital for agriculture, which is a source of livelihood for much of the population.

Saudi Arabia’s Marid Castle… Impenetrable Fort, Tourist Destination in Dumat Al-Jandal

Sakaka– The archaeological Marid Castle is located in the old city in Dumat Al-Jandal and overlooks the city from the highest hill with an altitude of 620 meters above sea level and is considered among the top archaeological and historical sites in Al-Jouf Region, Saudi Arabia, that is witnessing a qualitative leap in the tourist field due to what it enjoys of historical, archaeological and natural elements.

The oldest mention of the castle dates back to the 3rd century AD, when the Queen Zenobia of the Palmyrene Empire invaded Dawmat Al-Jandal and could not break into the castle. The Queen said at the time: “Marid has rebelled, and Ablaq has glorified.”

Marid Castle is characterized by its four cone-shaped towers and includes buildings from various patterns and times, starting from the Nabatean era, post-Islam era and till 80 years ago, where the main building of the castle has two stories, with the lower being built from stones and the upper from mud, and has two wells and chambers for guards, archers and observation.

The castle is surrounded by a wall with openings for observation and has two entrances, one from the south and the other from the north. The castle had archaeological pieces dating back to the Nabatean era, where excavations in 1976 resulted in finding Nabatean and Roman mosaic dating back to the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, which highlights the rich history of this castle.

Public Prosecution : 11 Suspects apprehended for impersonating bank employees to steal money from bank accounts

Riyadh– An official source at the Public Prosecution said that the money fraud unit at the money prosecution has started an investigation with 11 suspects who allegedly formed a criminal organization to fraud citizens and residents from a house that they used to perpetrate their illegal actions.

The suspects were apprehended pending investigation, especially that the crime entails apprehension as per a decision by the public prosecutor No. (1) on 1/1/1442 Hijri and as per Item (112) of the Penal Code.

The investigation showed that the suspects had falsely pretended to be bank employees and sent random messages to the phones of their victims that bank services for their ATMs were deactivated and that the victims had to provide them with information and passwords to reactivate the services. Later on, the suspects accessed the bank accounts and withdrew money. Investigation procedures also revealed several messages between the suspects and their victims including the verification codes for accessing bank services and government services at Absher platform.

The source highlighted the importance of social awareness regarding facts related to financial fraud through telecommunication means, stressing the importance of protecting personal data and refraining from sharing them but through accredited channels.

The public prosecutor had previously endorsed a decision to establish a specialized unit to investigate financial fraud crimes out of the belief of the Public Prosecution in the dangers of such crimes on private money and the national economy.

King Abdullah Port Launches Liner Service “MSC Indus 2”

Jeddah– King Abdullah Port has recently launched the “MSC Indus 2”, provided by the leading global container shipping company, MSC, to help the port contribute to the development of the Kingdom’s booming export market, by facilitating trade between North America and the Indian subcontinent, which is one of the Kingdom’s major trading partners.

The port will provide highly efficient logistics services for containers transported on board MSC cargo ships arriving from the port of “Mundra”, which is the largest private container port in India to King Abdullah Port, through the shipping line linking India and the main ports in the Mediterranean with the United States. This service will also provide the necessary support for exporters to major European ports up to the port of “Halifax” in Canada, and then to the midwestern cities of the United States such as Chicago and Detroit.

Jeddah– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud directed King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to send an urgent airlift that includes urgent food and shelter aid to help those affected by the torrential rains and floods that recently struck some cities and governorates in the Republic of Sudan.

In a statement issued today, Advisor at the Royal Court and KSrelief’s General Supervisor of Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah said that this generous directive is an extension of the continuous support being provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince to stand with all brotherly and friendly countries in the various circumstances they are going through. He added that this generous directive also reflects the strong fraternal bond between the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sudanese people.

GDNC Arrests One Citizen in Possession of Hashish

Madinah– The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has arrested one citizen in possession of 31.4 kilograms of Hashish.

The detainee was arrested, legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution.

Flynas and “Air Connectivity Program” Launch Direct International Destinations to Marseille, Almaty, Algiers, and Casablanca

Riyadh– Flynas announced that it has signed an agreement with the Air Connectivity Program to launch four new and direct destinations to cities in Europe, North Africa, and Central Asia, to facilitate the arrival of visitors, including tourists, pilgrims and Umrah performers to the Kingdom.

As of November, flynas will start operating 10 new weekly direct flights from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to the new four destinations. Two weekly flights are scheduled to Marseille in southern France, two weekly flights to Almaty, the commercial and cultural center in the Central Asian country of Kazakhstan and its ancient capital, three weekly flights to Algiers, and three weekly flights to Casablanca in the Kingdom of Morocco.

KSrelief Pumps Over 3,000,000 Liters of Drinking and Non-drinking Water in Hodeida Governorate, Yemen During July

Hodeida– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has continued the implementation of the water supply and environmental sanitation project in Hodeida Governorate, Yemen.

During July, 2022, 1,710,500 liters of drinking water, 1,627,500 liters of non-drinking water were pumped, and 124 shifts dedicated to removing waste from the camps of the displaced people were carried out, benefiting 9,800 individuals.

KSrelief Launches Voluntary Medical Program to Combat Blindness in Bangladesh

Dhaka– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched on Saturday the voluntary medical program to combat blindness and its causes in Bangladesh, within “Noor Saudi” program, being implemented during the period from 18 to 27 August 2022.

The KSrelief voluntary medical team examined 5,100 cases, distributed 1,136 eyeglasses, and performed 376 surgeries.

This campaign comes as an extension of the projects related to combating blindness being implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, for the families with low incomes in a number of countries.

Steering Committee of Arab Juniors Soccer Cup Championship Holds Meeting in Algeria

Riyadh, Aug. 21, 2022, SPA — The Steering Committee of Arab Juniors Soccer Cup Championship has held a meeting in the Algerian city of Wahran, chaired by its Chairman Abdulhakim Al-Shalmani in the attendance of representatives of member federations and sub-committees, it was reported here today.

During the meeting, which took place yesterday, the championship’s regulations, training pitches and referees lists were approved.

For his part, Al-Shalmani expressed thanks to and appreciation of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Arab Football Federation (AFF) for the confidence bestowed by the AFF’s council on the steering committee to lead the 4th version of the competition to success.
