Yemeni Minister of Defense Visits Joint Forces Command of Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen

Riyadh– The Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen bin Muhammad Al-Daari, visited here today the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, where he was received by the Commander of the Joint Forces and Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Gen. Mutlaq bin Salim Al-Azima.
The visit comes within the framework of permanent coordination and continuous support from the coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to achieve the desired goals and aspirations of the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership.
The meeting was attended by a number of commanders in the Joint Forces Command.

HRSD Announces Launch of RFP for Phase 2 of the Social Case Surveying Project

Riyadh– The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), supported by the National Center for Privatization and PPP (NCP), announced today the launch of the RFP for Phase 2 of the Social Case Surveying Project. The project is being tendered as a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) transaction in alignment with the PSP Law and its Implementing Regulations.
MHRSD stated that the Project will serve beneficiaries in 11 regions across the Kingdom, with the exception of Riyadh and Hail, through a five-year contract. The Project seeks to cover a wider number of beneficiaries in the conducted surveys, thereby raising the quality of services provided and improve customer experience. The Project will entail conducting one survey per year for approximately two million existing and potential new beneficiaries of Social Services.
MHRSD clarified that the project will be divided into three contracts; the first contract includes Makkah region, Northern Borders region, Al Jouf region and Tabuk region; while the second contract covers the Eastern region, Najran region and Asir region.
The third contract covers Madinah Region, Qassim region, Jazan region, Baha region. The Ministry will be conducting a bidders’ pre-bid conference for private sector participants on October 4, 2022 to answer inquiries and questions about the Project. In addition, the Ministry confirmed that interested parties should request the
RFP and submit a letter of intention before October 11, 2022.
This is the second phase of the Project being launched in partnership with the private sector after the completion of the first phase covering the Riyadh and Hail regions. MHRSD invites interested applicants to view the RFP document by visiting the NCP website. The last day to submit a proposal will be December 1, 2022.

Minister of Culture Meets with Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia

Magelang– Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, has met with Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom of Cambodia Phoeurng Sackona, on the sidelines of the G20 Ministers of Culture’s meeting hosted by the Republic of Indonesia.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in preserving heritage through the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). They also discussed cooperation in cultural fields between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Minister of Culture invited the Cambodian minister to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to explore the Saudi cultural scene and learn about its culture and people as well as its most prominent heritage features. He also invited the Cambodian artists and intellectuals to participate in the festivals held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain’s Indices Ends Lower

Manama– Bahrain General Index ended trading down today at the level of 1,938.07, losing 0.65. The Bahrain Islamic Index ended trading down at 674.71 level, losing 0.84.
The volume of traded shares amounted to 716,425, with a total value of 420,514 Bahraini dinars, through 59 deals.

Attorney General Visits Constitutional Court of Algeria

Algiers– Attorney General Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib and his accompanying delegation visited today the Algerian Constitutional Court.
They were received by Head of the Constitutional Court of Algeria Omar Belhaj.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, ways to support and develop them in various fields, and aspects of joint work in the legal and legislative field.

HRH Crown Prince Receives Written Message from President of Nigeria

Riyadh– His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, received a written message from President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, dealing with the strong and solid bilateral relations that bind the two countries and peoples, and ways to support and enhance them in various fields and at all levels.
On behalf of Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs received the message today at the ministry’s headquarters while meeting with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yahaya Lawal.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways of enhancing them in various fields, in addition to exchanging points of view on issues of common interest.

Global AI Summit: Volume of AI Market Expected to Reach US$15 Trillion by 2030

Riyadh– Speakers at the “Investing In AI: From Startups and Venture Funds to Corporate Innovation” panel that was held today as part of the 2nd Global AI Summit stressed that the volume of AI market is estimated at US$65 billion in 2020, expecting the figure to reach US$15 trillion by 2030.
The panel saw the participation of Managing Director and Global Chair Emeritus, Boston Consulting Group Dr. Hans-Paul Buerkner, Founder of Emaar and noon.com Mohamed Al-Abbar and Head of Technology and Media Sector at the Public Investment Fund Shahd Attar.
Speakers highlighted the importance for startups cooperation to utilize AI in developing capabilities and keeping pace with global growth in this field, in addition to how to guarantee ways that mankind, ecological systems and societies can benefit from AI.

Minister of Culture Meets with German Minister of State for Culture

Magelang– Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, has met with Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Culture of the Federal Republic of Germany Claudia Benedikta Roth, on the sidelines of the G20 Ministers of Culture’s meeting hosted by the Republic of Indonesia.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues including the implementation of joint cultural programs between the two sides, such as talent exchange programs between artistic and cultural institutions, which aim to build capacities, transfer experience and introduce the cultures of the two friendly countries.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials.

AI Algorithms to Help Crowd Management at Holy Sites, Lt. Gen. Al-Bassami Says

Riyadh– The Saudi Ministry of Interior, represented by the Special Forces for the Security of Hajj and Umrah, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) have announced a strategic partnership on developing algorithms to upgrade services for pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
The move comes as part of the care that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince give to the Muslim world’s two holiest sites.
The announcement came from Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of Public Security at the Ministry of Interior, during a panel discussion titled “Holistic Adoption of AI Technology” at the ongoing Global AI Summit, held under the patronage of HRH the Crown Prince at King Abdulaziz Conference Center in Riyadh from 13 to 15 September, 2022.
Lt. Gen. Al-Bassami discussed the Kingdom’s exemplary crowd management as huge numbers of citizens, residents and visitors flock every year to the Two Holy Mosques. Efforts are developing to increase the capacity to receive visitors and pilgrims, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, with upgraded services driven by cutting-edge technology for the comfort of the pilgrims.
He stated that such a massive effort requires countless man-hours and an army of personnel working around the clock to provide the best possible service, which has helped the Kingdom gain vast expertise over several decades.
He went on to explain how AI is a tool to ensure the quality of those services. AI technologies introduced recently at the Two Holy Mosques have been helping greatly in keeping crowds under control as they enter and leave thanks to faster decision-making, while ensuring that no more than the right number of people are present anywhere around the Holy Mosques at any given time. Thanks to these technologies, any crowd-related contingencies can be dealt with swiftly and with little disruption.
Dr. Majed Altuwaijri, Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), said that the cooperation comes as part of NCAI’s efforts to develop AI solutions for applications across various national sectors. He added that NCAI cooperated with Public Security to develop AI solutions that contribute to enhancing the provision of the best possible service for the pilgrims.
Lt. Gen. Al-Bassami pointed out that the Ministry of Interior, under the guidance of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, has multiple plans in place to manage crowds and move people in and out of the Two Holy Mosques with real-time monitoring. He added that AI enables enhanced coordination and integration among many agencies to achieve the overall goal of making the Pilgrimage experience smoother and safer.

Saudi Fund for Development Concludes its Participation in GSSD Expo 2022 in Bangkok

Bangkok– A delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has concluded its participation in the Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo 2022), which was held in the Thai capital, Bangkok, from 12 to 14 September, 2022, by hosting a dialogue session titled “Partnership for Development”.
The dialogue session was held with the participation of representatives from the SFD, a representative from the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning, a representative from the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to a representative from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
It is worth mentioning that GSSD Expo 2022 is a global platform and a vital opportunity for presenting the sustainable development solutions to challenges, with the participation of a number of bodies representing the public and private sectors, in addition to experts in the economic and development fields.

Minister of Culture Meets with Indian Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture in Indonesia

Magelang– Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, has met with Indian Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal, on the sidelines of the G20 Ministers of Culture’s meeting hosted by the Republic of Indonesia.
The Minister of Culture praised the strong strategic relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India, pointing to the visit of a delegation from the Ministry of Culture to the Republic of India in the second quarter of this year, and looking forward to strategic partnerships between the Saudi and Indian institutions in the field of filmmaking.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries in a number of cultural fields including: film production and working to develop and empower the culture sector in both friendly countries.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Meets with Sheikh of Al-Azhar in Kazakhstan

Nur-Sultan– Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh met today with Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan, on the sidelines of his participation in the Seventh Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which kicked off today with the participation of 100 delegations from 60 countries.
The meeting discussed several issues of common interest, especially those related to coordination in the Islamic fields, spreading moderation, and exchanging experiences.
During the meeting, the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar praised the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving Muslims, and its keenness to serve the Two Holy Mosques, spread tolerance and promote a culture of dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
