Riyadh– King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSAA) has launched a project to train Arabic Language teachers for non-native speakers in Africa to develop the skills of Arabic language teachers, spread the culture of Arabic language service globally, and enable them to teach the language per scientific principles, provided by a group of distinguished Saudi experts in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

The first training courses will start tomorrow in Uganda at the Islamic University supervised by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and will be held later in succession in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Niger, Kenya, Nigeria, Mali, Chad, Ghana, and Comoros, in ten courses targeting broad segments of Arabic language teachers, and will be implemented in cooperation with universities and regional institutions.

The project targets teachers of Arabic for non-native speakers working in public and private universities, institutes, and centers for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. It also aims to develop the skills of teachers of the African continent through various training methods, and best practices in language education, by a group of Saudi education experts.

Among the training paths that the project will produce are methods of teaching a second language, the difference between language acquisition and learning, teaching language skills, appropriate techniques for teaching languages, language tests, preparing language materials and activities, and language games.

The training project aims to support the society’s vision of achieving leadership and global reference in the service of the Arabic language, and developing the knowledge and skills of Arabi language teachers to non-native speakers around the world, through training on the basic principles of effective teaching, per the best practices in language education, as well as developing applied skills of Arabic language teachers as a second language in using appropriate tools and techniques, investing opportunities to serve the Arabic language, activate its activities globally, expand the circle of workers in Arabic language service.

The courses are scheduled to include training sessions, group discussions and brainstorming questions, open dialogues to enrich training activities, and micro-teaching (practical application).

Riyadh– Saudi Railway Company (SAR) has concluded its participation in the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology “InnoTrans”, which was held in Berlin, Germany, from 20-23 September.
SAR participated in the “InnoTrans” exhibition by setting up a special pavilion, which included several representatives of its various departments, to highlight the significant development that the railway industry has reached in the Kingdom, and to exchange experiences with the most prominent international parties participating in the exhibition. The company’s pavilion also included several introductory presentations, and operational models, including the network operating system adopted by the company ETCS Level 2.
The participation witnessed the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding with global partners aimed at increasing the capacity and efficiency of logistical operations, supporting the expansion of the railway sector in the Kingdom, building national capacities, developing the company’s sustainability systems, as well as increasing the capacity of freight trains, which contributes to achieving the goals of “SAR” strategy, and at the same time enhances the objectives of the national strategy for transport and logistics.
For his part, SAR’s General Manager of the Corporate Communications and Marketing Department, Mohammed Hamid Al-Din, reiterated that SAR’s participation in this global event and its signing of 10 agreements reflect the pioneering role that the company contributes to the region as a whole, as well as its vital dedication to the SAR’s “Integration Center” towards the various development and economic aspirations that the Kingdom is aiming to achieve in various sectors, including the railway sector.”
Hamid Al-Din added, “The importance of the agreements signed by SAR during the InnoTrans exhibition lies primarily in its comprehensive development role for the transport sector system in the Kingdom, and in the company’s active role in achieving the overall national economic visions in terms of knowledge transfer and exchange of experiences.”.
