Riyadh– Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC), has patronized the ceremony of raising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s flag to the board of countries contributing to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) initiative to modernize Seibersdorf laboratories (ReNuAL2 Initiative), in the presence of IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, at the IAEA’s headquarters in Vienna.
The Minister said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia appreciates the important role of the IAEA in enhancing safety standards and its efforts to support countries, as these donations develop the agency’s capabilities in a way that enhances its vital role in harnessing nuclear power for peaceful purposes. He added that these contributions are aimed at maximizing the use of nuclear technologies and providing the resources and services to the IAEA member states to ensure the safe use of nuclear technology.
