The President of the Republic discusses with the British Ambassador the promotion of economic, commercial and cultural cooperation

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, discussed with British Ambassador Mark Bryson Richardson the promotion of economic, commercial and cultural cooperation.

A presidential statement said that the President of the Republic received, today, Monday, the British Ambassador, and discussed with him the joint relations that bring together the two friendly countries, and ways to develop them in various fields to face the common challenges of combating terrorism, enhancing economic, commercial and cultural cooperation, and coordination between the two countries to serve local and regional peace and stability.

The British Ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to consolidate the security and stability of Iraq and the safety of its people and to support the path of dialogue and convergence to address political issues in the country in a way that achieves development and progress for the Iraqi people.

Rizan Sheikh Delir to / NINA /: Al-Halbousi’s resignation is a political maneuver

Baghdad The former member of Parliament for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Rizan Sheikh Dler, considered the resignation of Al-Halbousi as a political maneuver.

She told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the resignation is a political maneuver by Al-Halbousi.

Al-Halbousi had announced his resignation, which will be presented to the vote on Wednesday.

Bahrain Stock Exchange Indices Close Trading Lower

Manama– Bahrain General Index closed trading lower today at 1,884.10 points, losing 16.89 points. The Bahrain Islamic Index closed at 661.92 points, 2.37 points lower than its previous closing rate.
The volume of traded shares amounted to 743,120, with a total value of 231,767 Bahraini dinars, through 61 deals.

Riyadh Chamber, Hong Kong Trade Development Council Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Riyadh– Riyadh Chamber has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to enhance commercial, industrial and investment relations between the two sides and encourage cooperation among businesspeople in a bid to realize mutual interest and boost commercial exchange and cooperation among companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong.
The memo included cooperation between the two sides in fields of exchanging information regarding commercial, investment and economic issues in a way that supports companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong that are interested in developing businesses in both markets, and offering suitable support to participate in various occasions and activities and for delegations or commercial, investment and economic cooperation missions.
Cooperation fields also mentioned in the memorandum included agricultural products, commercial and vocational services, fashion and accessories, finance, food items, clothes, ICT, infrastructure and real estate development, intellectual property, gemstones and jewelry, logistical services and distribution, and natural resources.
The two sides also agreed to promote Saudi products in international markets through benefiting from comprehensive solutions, including commercial exhibitions and print materials, where both sides are entitled to support manufacturers and exports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to communicate with concerned service providers in Hong Kong through the council’s platforms to support their commercial needs.

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Chairs Meeting of the GCC Labor Ministers’ Committee

Riyadh– Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi chaired the meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Labor Ministers’ Committee, which kicked off today in Riyadh for two days, in the presence of the GCC Secretary-General, Dr. Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf, and several officials
In his speech at the meeting, Eng. Al-Rajhi welcomed the GCC ministers, conveying to them the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, and their directives on the importance of integration and coordination among the GCC countries, stressing the importance of these meetings in strengthening efforts and exchanging expertise and experiences to support the Gulf labor markets and keep pace with global markets.
He explained that this meeting aims to coordinate joint efforts to achieve the goals of the ambitious plans of the Gulf countries, through the implementation of the initiatives of the GCC strategy in labor and the employment and integration of citizens into the private sector, and raising the level of its attractiveness, reviewing the ministry’s achievements in this aspect, its initiatives, programs, and market strategy.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed several topics of common interest, including the decisions of the Supreme Council in labor and the results of the Business Development Study Committee, the memorandum of the Executive Office on the strategy of joint Gulf in labor and manpower, and the memorandum of the Executive Office on international cooperation and the experiences of member states.

Saline Water Conversion Corporation Enhances Uses of Renewable Energy in its Systems, Starts Using Solar Panels on Water Surfaces

Riyadh– The Saline Water Conversion Corporation has announced implementing a project of photovoltaic solar cells systems (PV), including parts on water surfaces with a generation capacity of 110 megawatts, which aims at enhancing applications of renewable energy in the desalination industry and reducing energy consumption used from the grid to less than 2.16 kilowatts for cubic meter and over 20% of the consumption average of design energy that stands at an average of 2.7 kilowatts per hour for one cubic meter for the desalination system that is being established in Al-Jubail area with a production capacity of more than one million cubic meters per day as one of the biggest plant in the world operating with the reverse osmosis technology and the least in terms of electricity consumption among plants with big production capacities.
The project is part of several schemes that the corporation works on with the aim of providing 300 million Metric Million British Thermal Units (MMBTU) of the consumption of natural gas, in addition to reducing fluid fuel to 10 million tons annually by 2024, which will contribute to reducing operational costs and realizing the highest environmental standards and reducing carbon emissions to up to 34 million tons of carbon emissions, in line with the environmental standards and the Saudi Green Initiative.
The Saline Water Conversion Corporation has mobile plants that were designed and manufactured by the corporation itself , which rely on solar energy with a consumption rate not exceeding 2.27 kilowatts for one cubic meter, which is a new world record for this category, where the corporation seeks to reduce power consumption in these mobile plants to reach 2 kilowatts.

Saudi Stock Exchange Main Index Ends Trading Lower at 10,909.18 Points

Riyadh– Saudi Stock Exchange’s main index ended trading lower here today, losing 252.20 points to close at 10,909.18 points.
The total value of the trading reported was SAR 6.8 billion, while the toll of shares traded was over 172 million, divided into over 410,000 deals.
The Saudi Parallel Market Index (NOMU) ended the day losing 167.25 points, to close at 19,708.68 points, with a valuation of SAR 15.3 million and an overall tally of more than 270,000 stocks traded and divided into as many as 1,670 deals.

KSrelief’s Masam Project Dismantles 763 Mines in Yemen During One Week

Riyadh– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Project (Masam) for clearing mines in Yemen, dismantled, during the fourth week of September 2022, a total of 763 mines planted by the Houthi militia across Yemen, including 93 anti-personnel mines, 335 anti-tank mines, 333 unexploded ordnance and 2 explosive devices.
Since the beginning of the project, as many as 359,626 mines have been dismantled.

OIC Condemns Brutal Attack Against a Mosque in Nigeria

Jeddah– The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the brutal attack by an armed group against a mosque, in Zamfara State, Northwest of Nigeria, on Friday 24 September 2022, killing at least 15 people.
OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha reaffirmed that the OIC stands in solidarity with Nigeria in its fight against banditry, extremism and violence, offering his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

President of Naif University Inaugurates 23rd INTERPOL Police Training Symposium

Riyadh– President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Al-Banyan, inaugurated at the university’s headquarters in Riyadh today, 23rd INTERPOL Police Training Symposium to train police personnel, which is hosted by the NAUSS Under the theme of Law Enforcement Training for a Post-Pandemic World, with the participation of experts and specialists from 78 countries in person and virtually.
Al-Banyan noted that the NAUSS appreciates the importance of ongoing decades-long relations with INTERPOL, as well as the joint efforts in building up security capabilities and facing organized cross-border crimes.
INTERPOL Secretary General Jurgen Stock stressed that hosting the symposium by the university forms a main pillar for the strategic partnership between the two sides and for enhancing global cooperation in law enforcement.

President of Human Rights Commission Receives German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh– President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri received here today Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dieter Lamle, in the presence of Vice President of HRC Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khayyal.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and aspects of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially in the field of human rights.
