The Council of Ministers holds its session headed by Al-Kadhimi..and approves several recommendations

Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi chaired today, Tuesday, the thirty-sixth regular session of the Council of Ministers, in which the overall general situation in the country was discussed, and a number of files and topics on the agenda were discussed.

Al-Kadhimi directed, according to a statement by his media office, all ministers to continue to work at the same pace, and to overcome all obstacles that stand in the way of implementing the interests of citizens.

In the context of the session, the Council of Ministers discussed a detailed report on the financial situation in Iraq, the many challenges facing the country and government measures regarding them.

The Council of Ministers hosted the Governor of the Central Bank; to discuss a number of files related to combating money laundering operations.

Iraq’s Representative before the Security Council: The political forces entered into a constructive dialogue to reach understandings

Baghdad The Representative of Iraq at the United Nations, Muhammad Bahr Al-Uloum, confirmed: “The stalemate in the political process is the last of the formation of the new government.”

Bahr Al-Aloum said in a speech to the Security Council: “The Iraqi political forces entered into a constructive and serious dialogue to reach understandings.”

He added, “The Iraqi forces dealt with high professionalism with the demonstrations commemorating October.”

Shura Council Holds 2nd Ordinary Session

Riyadh, Presided over by its Deputy Speaker Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, the Shura Council held virtually today its 2nd ordinary session.

During the meeting, the Shura Council discussed a number of reports presented by the Hajj, Housing and Services Committee; the Health Committee; the Financial and Economic Committee; the Trade and Investment Committee; and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee.

The Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Costa Rica on the development of trade relations between the two countries.

It also approved a draft cooperation agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Hellenic Republic in the field of sports.

The Shura Council also discussed a number of issues on its agenda.

KSrelief Concludes Entrepreneurship Course in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen

Al-Mahra, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded an entrepreneurship course in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen, as part of a project to support the empowerment of young people to improve livelihoods in Yemen.

This project comes within a number of humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the KSrelief, to advance the economic situation and improve the income of the most needy groups.

Governor of Jeddah Inaugurates Middle East Education and Training Exhibition

Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated today the 3rd Middle East Education and Training Exhibition, which is organized by Icon International Company, during the period from 4 to 6 October 2022.

As many as 120 exhibitors from universities, higher education institutions, professional academies and specialized training centers from 11 Arab and foreign countries representing: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Canada, Malaysia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom will participate in the exhibition.

Federation of Saudi Chambers Organizes Moroccan-Saudi Economic Forum in Casablanca

Casablanca, The Federation of Saudi Chambers and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) organized today the Moroccan-Saudi Economic Forum in Casablanca, Morocco, in the presence of Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, and Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Riad Mazur, with the participation of 130 Saudi and Moroccan companies, in order to advance the economic partnership that links the two kingdoms, strengthen commercial cooperation and expedite investments in the targeted sectors.

Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi stressed, during his speech at the forum, the need for business owners in the two countries to agree to draw up plans for attracting and a clear roadmap and targets for the Saudi-Moroccan economic relations, noting the opportunities that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Morocco have in light of the projects of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, especially joint investment opportunities in Africa and Europe.

For his part, Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Riad Mazur said that it is aimed to raise the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Morocco to $5 billion annually in the coming years, stressing that this goal is possible in light of the huge opportunities and capabilities of the two countries, calling on Saudi investors to benefit from 670 industrial projects in Morocco.

A number of Saudi and Moroccan entities discussed the opportunities and services available to investors, including: Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Export Development Authority, the National Center for Palms and Dates, and the Moroccan Bank of Industrial Projects.

Minister of Defense and U.S. Secretary of Defense Review, in a Phone Call, Strategic Partnership Between the Two Countries

Riyadh, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, received a phone call today from U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

During the conversation, they reviewed the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, and discussed cooperation and joint coordination between the two friendly countries in the military and defense field and ways to enhance them.

They also discussed developments of the regional and international events, and issues of common interest.

KSrelief Signs Joint Agreement to Meet Food and Nutritional Needs of Syrian Refugees in Jordan

Riyadh, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed a joint agreement with the World Food Programme to implement the second phase of meeting the food and nutritional needs of the Syrian refugees in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, benefiting 53,110 individuals, with a total cost of $6 million.

The agreement was co-signed by Assistant General Supervisor of the KSrelief for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, and Director of the Public Partnerships and Resourcing at the World Food Programme Karin Manente.

This comes within the framework of the humanitarian projects implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, to support Syrian refugees and improve their living conditions in various refugee environments.

Saudi Arabia to Host ACI Asia-Pacific’s New Office in the Middle East

Jeddah, MATARAT Holding Company announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won the hosting of a new office of Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific in Riyadh. The ACI office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will work closely with its headquarters in Hong Kong to efficiently serve member airports in the Middle East.

This comes within efforts to enhance international cooperation with the ACI Asia-Pacific and to benefit hugely from expertise and capabilities in Airport development, operations according to the latest international standards. Saudi Arabia to host 25th World Petroleum Congress in 2026

Riyadh, The organizational committee of the World Petroleum Congress (WPC) has announced accepting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s bid to host and organize the congress and its accompanying exhibition in 2026.

Saudi Arabia has received a big international support after the Ministry of Energy has recently extended the bid for Saudi Arabia to host the congress and the exhibition, according to SPA.

WPC Director General Dr. Pierce Riemer has congratulated Saudi Arabia for being selected to host the 25th edition of the congress in Riyadh, for being the biggest oil-exporting country in the world and owning the one of the world’s biggest oil reserves, which highlights Saudi Arabia’s importance globally to host one of the most important meetings of energy in the world.

Riemer expressed aspiration to work with Saudi Arabia to organize a successful congress in 2026 that matches the status of Saudi Arabia in its capacity as a global pioneer in the energy field, in addition to its being among the most active economies in the world.

WPC is considered a prominent global event that brings together countries and international organizations every three years to enhance cooperation in energy fields and provide solutions to main challenges facing the development of this vital sector.

Saudi Arabia, IMF sign memo on boosting ties

RIYADH,  Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance Mohammad Al Jadaan and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva signed Monday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on setting up a regional office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The memo focuses on bolstering cooperation between the IMF and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, and boosting relations with the governments of the region’s countries, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

It also aim to expand the fund’s activities in developing capabilities that makes Saudi Arabia the second largest contributor to building capabilities in the region, it added.

During a news conference following the signing, Al-Jadaan said the meeting of GCC ministers of finance and Governors of the central banks discussed with the IMF all means aiming contribute to strengthening relations between the two sides.

Signing the MoU will meet all needs relating to advice and consultations given to the GCC states, he noted.

Georgieva lauded Saudi Arabia’s vital role at the international level, especially its support to the countries of the region, mainly the vulnerable ones affected by several shocks, including the Covid 19 and the geopolitical situation.

KSrelief continues providing medical, food security aid

Beirut, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 675 food baskets in the Arsal Region, Lebanon, to 3,375 needy people.
 
KSrelief also concluded the voluntary medical program to combat blindness and related diseases in Nawabganj Town, Bangladesh, within “Noor Saudi Arabia” voluntary program, SPA reported.
 
KSrelief’s voluntary medical team has examined 4,610 cases, offered1,616 glasses, and performed 519 successful cataract surgeries.
 
This comes within the KSrelief’s project to support food security for Palestinian and Syrian refugees in Lebanon and provide medical treatment to people with limited income.
