GCC Secretary General Affirms the Importance of Strengthening GCC-Cyprus Relations

Riyadh, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf stressed the importance of strengthening GCC-Cyprus relations in all fields to serve common interests.

This came during his meeting here today with Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Stavros Avgoustides.

During the meeting, they reviewed the relations between the GCC and the Republic of Cyprus, and discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the GCC and the Republic of Cyprus in all political, economic and social fields.

Oman Sail welcomes Oman Air as Official and Exclusive Airline Partner

Oman Sail announced it has signed an agreement with Oman Air which will see the Sultanate of Oman’s national carrier become the Official and Exclusive Airline Partner for all Oman Sail events through until 2024. Oman Air will also become the Official Airline Sponsor of the Oman Olympic Team throughout qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Dr Khamis Al Jabri, Oman Sail CEO, said, “Oman Air’s support for our sailors during a very busy period which culminates in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be invaluable in ensuring the athletes and their equipment arrive safely and ready to compete. We are very happy to join with Oman’s national airline to represent the country as we make progress towards our ultimate ambition of winning an Olympic medal in sailing for Oman.”

British Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Education in Saudi Arabia Pays Visit to Imam University

Riyadh, Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, President of Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University, received today Special Representative of the British Prime Minister for Education to Saudi Arabia Professor Sir Steve Smith, and the accompanying delegation.

The two sides talked about ways to enhance cooperation between Imam University and British universities in terms of academic exchange, faculty and student exchange, training and scientific research.

Sir Smith praised the collaboration and growing partnerships between British and Saudi universities, noting that Saudi Arabia is one of the countries with the highest priority in the British plan for international academic and scientific cooperation.

A citizen was injured by a gunshot wound, as a result of a previous clan dispute in Al-Amarah

Al-Amarah A citizen of the Maysan governorate was exposed to shooting by armed men in a car, as a result of a previous clan dispute, in the city of Al-Amarah, the center of the governorate.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA/: “Unidentified gunmen in a vehicle opened fire on a citizen in the sector area in the city center, which led to him being shot in the leg area, and they fled.”

/8/ wanted persons arrested for various crimes in Maysan

Amarah The security forces in Maysan arrested 8 wanted persons for various crimes in Al-Maimuna district, southwest of the governorate.

The Maysan Police Directorate said in a statement received by the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that among the wanted persons who were arrested, is a wanted according to Article (4) of terrorism, noting that all legal measures have been taken against them fundamentally.
