Baquba A security source announced the death and injury of seven people in a terrible traffic accident in Diyala Governorate.

The source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “A traffic accident was caused by a collision of 3 vehicles on the tourist road linking Baghdad and Diyala, killing three people and wounding four others.”

He added, “The bodies of the victims were transferred to the forensic medicine, and the wounded were taken to Baquba Hospital.”

Baquba A civilian was killed and two others were injured in a family dispute in Kanaan district, Diyala governorate.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “A security force arrived in the area to resolve the conflict, while the victim’s body was transferred to the forensic medicine and the two injured to the hospital.”

Diyala witnesses clan and family disputes and disagreements that leave dozens of victims and injured for social reasons or financial disputes.

Syria, Iran hold talks on bolstering bilateral cooperation

Tehran, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Imad Mustafa and the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Shafiq Dayoub held talks Tuesday with a number of senior officials of the Iranian Foreign Ministry means of boosting cooperation between the two sides and following up on bilateral issues earlier discussed by Foreign Minister Fayssal Mikdad with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian during his latest visit to Tehran last week.

The two Syrian Ambassadors held a meeting with Ali Asghar Khaji, the Iranian foreign minister’s senior advisor for special political affairs, during which they discussed bilateral ties and the latest developments in Syria, the region and the world.

Saudi Arabia Localizes Water Desalination Industry

Riyadh, The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) concluded an agreement of cooperation and engineering support with Saudi companies specialized in the construction of desalination plants and water transmission systems. These companies have proven their ability and high expertize in the localization of engineering and technical works during their recent works that they have partnered with SWCC, including construction of desalination plants and giant transportation systems led by Rawafed Industrial and Bohoor Company, which raised them to the status of 100% Saudi companies.

In a similar move, SWCC signed a contract to localize the reverse osmosis membranes industry for desalinated water. The company also announced the establishment of an integrated staged factory, the first of its kind in the Middle East, for the manufacture of reverse osmosis membranes, and the second integrated factory in the world made through joint Saudi and foreign investment outside Japan. The project is being held in partnership with the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, where Toray Middle East will set up the factory with diversified production lines, high-quality products that are the highest in the world in terms of reducing energy consumption, long operational range, and top environment-friendly specifications.

The factory’s production will meet the increasing demand of this promising industry locally and globally, and is expected to achieve by 2025 revenues of 690 million riyals in the Kingdom and the Gulf. Among the characteristics that distinguish the product in whose research development SWCC will participate, is that it will reduce the average cost by more than 14%, and decrease energy consumption at a rate starting from (4%).

On this occasion, His Excellency the Governor of Desalination, Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Abdul Karim, said: “The environment-friendly reverse osmosis membranes industry is one of the most important enablers of the desalination industry globally, and is an important industry whose demand is increasing at an annual rate of 6% locally and 7% in the Gulf. We aim to localize this basic and strategic product which delivers new industrial value that contributes by driving growth and diversifying the economy.

Eng. Abdullah announced that the plant’s production will start in 2025, and is expected to achieve a return on GDP of 1.14 billion within only 5 years, with an annual impact on trade balance of 135 million riyals, and, in addition to the water sector, will serve the oil, gas and industry sectors, with a production capacity of 254 thousand membranes, 10% of which will meet the needs of SWCC, and 55% of the production will be allocated to the local water sector, relative to 5% for the oil and gas sector, while 30% of the products will be exported to cover external demand, noting that 70% of production inputs will be locally sourced.

Eng. Abdullah added saying: “We share with the stakeholders, various sectors, owners of industrial facilities and contractors the next steps of the future of desalination industry, based on an integrative and economic perspective that focuses on producing a new generation and a young national leadership given the strength, efficiency and high potential of the Saudi contractors who are distinctively participating in the execution of big water desalination projects, and exporting their expertise and industrial knowledge abroad, utilizing the giant production systems that internationally enjoy large capacities of up to 600,000 cubic meters/day using RO techniques.

Today, we signed an investment agreement with the Saudi company to produce bromine in quantities of up to 16 thousand tons, aiming by 2024 to meet 30% of the domestic demand, in addition to its contribution to the domestic product by 150 million riyals every year by 2024 and 1.5 billion riyals annually by 2030, as well as the investments by the private sector, starting from 800 million riyals annually in 2024 and reaching 8 billion riyals yearly in 2030, by virtue of its specialization in the production of minerals with direct impact on developing growth opportunities and reducing the cost of several local industries, in a manner that pushes up economic prosperity, in line with Vision 2030.

Baghdad Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi received separately on Tuesday the Ambassadors of Canada, the Netherlands and Australia, Gregory Galligan, Hans Sendai and Paula Elizabeth Ganley.

The meetings, according to a statement by Al-Halbousi’s office, dealt with bilateral relations, strengthening cooperation between Iraq and its friends, and supporting it in the economic, security and investment aspects, efforts to combat corruption, and the effects of climate change, as well as discussing the file of displaced persons’ camps, and the importance of exerting more efforts and cooperation to end this file, which is one of Important files that contribute to the stability of the country.

For their part, the Ambassadors affirmed their support for Iraq and everything that contributes to achieving its development and stability.

Syria: The battle of combating terrorism continues until cleansing all Syrian lands

Damascus, Syria has stressed that fighting the terrorist organizations in northwest and south of the country is a right and duty of the Syrian state, to protect the lives of its citizens and ensure its security and territorial integrity.

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement posted on its Twitter page that the fight against terrorism will continue until all the Syrian lands are cleansed of the last terrorist.

The Ministry added that eliminating terrorists affiliated to al- Qaeda and Daesh and other terrorist organizations in northwest and south of Syria is a right and duty of the Syrian state to protect the lives of its citizens and preserve its security and territorial integrity.

The Ministry added that the battle of combating terrorism continues until cleansing all Syrian territories of the last terrorist and restoring security and stability to every inch of Syrian lands.

“Any lies and claims that are promoted either by the sponsors of terrorism and its defenders in the US and its western allies or by their tools which are working under the cover of some international organizations will not dissuade Syria from this battle,” the Ministry went on to say.

Riyadh, Under patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the second edition of the Global Cybersecurity Forum – the pioneering global platform in opening knowledge aspects on cybersecurity issues and building up cooperation foundations – is scheduled to kick off tomorrow with the participation of 120 high-level international speakers and the presence of participants from more than 100 countries.

The forum, organized by the National Cybersecurity Authority under the theme: “Rethinking the Global Cyber Order,” will be organized on November 9 and 10 in Riyadh with the participation of the elite of decision makers, CEOs, senior government officials and representatives of top global companies, NGOs and academia from across the globe. The forum also stresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s global entrepreneur status in supporting international efforts and unifying joint endeavors in discussing strategic issues and cooperation opportunities among international partners in the cybersecurity field.

The forum will see more than 30 discussion panels on a range of topics discussing prospects for change in the cyber field, cyber economies, geo-cyber development, the future of cyber work and cybersecurity for all.

6th edition of BIAS kicks off, celebrating a decade of excellence

Manama, The sixth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2022 kicked off today at the Sakhir Air Base under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and will run until 11 November.

The Bahrain International Show, which was founded in 2010 and is organized under the supervision by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the BIAS’ Supreme Organizing Committee, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The Show offers global companies an effective opportunity to meet with decision-makers in the region’s aviation sector and learn about the various investment opportunities they can take advantage of. It also highlights the potential to benefit from Bahrain’s geographical location and strong regulatory and business environment by establishing branches in the Kingdom as the headquarters for regional operations.

High-level delegations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Germany, France, and other countries are also present, with transport ministers and civil aviation directors meeting with aerospace and aviation CEOs.

Al-Sudani: Iraq’s foreign policy will be balanced

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani affirmed: “Iraq’s foreign policy will be balanced.

Al-Sudani said in a press conference: “Iraq will continue to bring different views closer, and we have made external contacts with a number of countries, which welcomed Iraq’s role in this field.”

The Prime Minister stressed the need to solve the security problem and stop the Turkish aggression on Iraqi lands and borders.

The Council of Ministers holds its regular session headed by Al-Sudani and issues a number of decisions / Expanded

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani chaired today, Tuesday, the third regular session of the Council of Ministers, during which they discussed the political and security situation in the country, and discussed a number of issues and economic files, in addition to deliberating on topics on the agenda and issuing decisions and recommendations regarding them.

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office stated, “Al-Sudani directed to re-examine the issue of land belonging to the Ministry of Finance, and the compounds designated for building housing units, and a consultative meeting was held that included representatives of the ministries: Finance, Construction, Housing, Municipalities, Public Works and Agriculture, and the Legal Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, whose recommendations would be submitted to the Prime Minister to decide on them within a period of (30) working days.”

The Prime Minister referred to the prominent sporting event that Iraq will host early next year, represented by the 25th Gulf Cup in Basra. Everyone accepted to make the tournament a success in a way that reflects the honorable and luminous image of Iraq.”

In the context of the session, Al-Sudani instructed all ministers not to delay in implementing the cabinet’s decision to cancel all diwani orders and approvals issued by the caretaker government regarding the appointment and assignment of heads of agencies not associated with a ministry, special grades, directors general and those of their rank, based on the decision of the Federal Court issued last May.

The statement added, “With regard to the decision of the Council of Ministers to appoint holders of higher degrees and the first graduates, who number more than 74,000, it was directed to benefit from their specializations, and to distribute them among the ministries in a professional and correct manner.”
