The match of our national team against Costa Rica has been canceled

Baghdad Local sports circles announced the cancellation of the friendly match of our national team with its Costa Rican counterpart, scheduled for Thursday evening, after the Costa Rican side refused to attend Basra Governorate and did not reach any solution in the joint meeting that ended a while ago in brotherly Kuwait.

The Costa Rican delegation had refused to enter Iraqi territory because of its refusal to stamp the passports of its players with the entry stamp to Iraq.

Informed sources: Contacts continuing with the Costa Rican national team, and a plane has been allocated to transport it to Basra

Baghdad Informed sources said: “Contacts are continuing with the Costa Rican national team to persuade it to play a friendly match with the Iraqi team, after the government provided a private plane to transport the team to Basra.”

According to the sources, the approval of the Prime Minister was obtained to allocate a private plane to transport the Costa Rican team from Kuwait to Basra and to avoid the knot that caused the team’s return to Kuwait.

It is noteworthy that the Costa Rican national team arrived late last night by land from Kuwait to the border crossing in Basra, and returned to Kuwait with the excuse of not to let their passports to be stamped by Iraqi border stamps.

The Minister of Oil discusses with the Russian Ambassador and a delegation from Lukoil and Kazprom companies to increase production and social services

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani discussed with the Russian ambassador and a delegation from Lukoil and Kazprom companies, to maintain and increase production and social services.

The ministry said in a statement: “The minister met with the Russian ambassador in Baghdad, Elbrus Kutrashev, the first secretary at the Russian embassy, Ilya Lobov, and a delegation that included the general manager of Kazprom Sergey Karavaev and the deputy director of the Iraq branch of Lukoil Mid-East Rasan Sednavi, and during the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the oil and energy sector.

The Minister of Oil affirmed support for the work of sober international companies in Iraq and work to strengthen and expand the horizons of cooperation with them, in order to achieve common goals.

Abdul-Ghani pointed to the contribution of Russian companies to the development of the oil industry in Iraq, stressing the need for cooperation in implementing plans to maintain and increase production, in addition to the optimal investment of associated gas.

The Minister of Oil stressed the need for oil companies to increase the area of social services and the necessary needs provided to citizens, especially to the areas near the oil fields.

For his part, the Russian ambassador expressed his country’s desire to enhance joint cooperation frameworks in the oil and gas industry sectors, while the two companies’ delegation reviewed the progress of work in the oil fields and future development plans.

PM meets the engineering and service effort team directs to address the problems facing the workflow

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, met with the engineering and service team, and heard from the team leader a detailed report on the stages of work progress in the areas in which work has begun.

According to a statement by his media office, Al-Sudani was briefed on the obstacles and problems that require quick decisions in order to sustain the momentum of work, especially as the effort team is preparing to expand its tasks to include new areas.

The Minister of Labor is discussing with the World Bank team the reform and evaluation of the Social Protection Support Program

Baghdad The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, discussed with the World Bank team the reform and evaluation of the Social Protection Support Program.

A statement by the Ministry stated: In the meeting, ways to support social protection were discussed through reforming and evaluating the social protection support program, increasing the number of social researchers, involving them in training courses to develop their skills, providing them with logistical support, and seeking to automate the Ministry’s programs to simplify all procedures.

Al-Asadi called for: a real partnership in work in order to benefit from the capabilities of the two parties, as the recovery fund, which is managed by the World Bank, will provide a grant to develop the systems of the Social Protection Authority and vocational training, stressing that this is one of the priorities of the goals sought by the Ministry within the framework of the Ministry’s interest in developing the private sector, he stressed the development of the retirement and social security fund for workers.

For his part, the head of the World Bank team appreciated the work in Iraq, and expressed his desire to develop these policies within the agreed government program.

Iraq and Japan stress the need to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries

Baghdad Ambassador Safia Talib Al-Suhail received the new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Futoshi Matsumoto, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Baghdad.

The meeting included, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressing the need to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the economic field and facilitating the work of Japanese companies in Iraq, in addition to discussing the importance of strengthening educational curricula and benefiting from the Japanese experience in this field, especially with regard to child development programs and the development of his talents.

For his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his thanks for the efforts made by the Ministry in order to facilitate and support the work of the Japanese Embassy in Baghdad.

Al-Amiri discusses with Battal the operation of the stalled Iraqi factories

Baghdad The leader of Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, received in his office in the capital, Baghdad, today, Thursday, the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal.

During the meeting, according to a statement by Al-Amiri’s office, they discussed the reality of the Iraqi industry and how to address the problems facing this vital and important sector, as well as the importance of re-evaluating the Ministry’s work in a way that contributes to combating financial and administrative corruption.

The two sides reviewed the importance of national industries, rehabilitating and operating the suspended plants and factories, which would be an important economic tributary for the country, as well as their contribution to the employment of local labor and the elimination of unemployment.
