The Minister of Labor is discussing with the World Bank team the reform and evaluation of the Social Protection Support Program

Baghdad The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, discussed with the World Bank team the reform and evaluation of the Social Protection Support Program.

A statement by the Ministry stated: In the meeting, ways to support social protection were discussed through reforming and evaluating the social protection support program, increasing the number of social researchers, involving them in training courses to develop their skills, providing them with logistical support, and seeking to automate the Ministry’s programs to simplify all procedures.

Al-Asadi called for: a real partnership in work in order to benefit from the capabilities of the two parties, as the recovery fund, which is managed by the World Bank, will provide a grant to develop the systems of the Social Protection Authority and vocational training, stressing that this is one of the priorities of the goals sought by the Ministry within the framework of the Ministry’s interest in developing the private sector, he stressed the development of the retirement and social security fund for workers.

For his part, the head of the World Bank team appreciated the work in Iraq, and expressed his desire to develop these policies within the agreed government program.
