Digital Media Center: Creating a page in the Kurdish language is an important step in the methodology of fighting digital lies

Baghdad The Digital Media Center (DMC) praised the initiative of the Technology for Peace organization to create a page for it in the Kurdish language, entitled (Technology for Peace)) to confront counterfeiting and the lies of some pages.

The DMC said in a statement: “The Kurdish digital space is devoid of a platform specialized in denying fake news and exposing false information published by some pages for different purposes.”

Founder and Head of Technology for Peace Aws Al-Saadi said: “The page was launched at the end of October of 2022, when the focus was on content in the Kurdish language.”

Al-Saadi added: The fake publications in the Kurdish language are mostly different from the Arabic-language publications, so having two pages separately is better than having only one page.

In this context, the Digital Media Center called on the users of communication sites in the Kurdistan region to cooperate with the page (Technology for Peace) in order to detect fake news to reduce its negative effects on society.

He stressed that “the tax is considered part of the tax system in Iraq, and it is worth noting that the method of imposing this tax was wrong, as it left the producer of the cards, which are the mobile phone companies, without bearing part of this tax.”
