The Minister of Health, his Iranian counterpart discuss ways of joint cooperation in the health field

Baghdad The Minister of Health, Salih Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, met with the Minister of Health of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Bahram Ainullah, who was accompanied by the Iranian Ambassador, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq.

“During the meeting, they discussed enhancing ways of joint cooperation in the field of providing medicines and medical supplies, exchanging visits between medical teams, holding joint medical conferences, treating patients, and training medical and health personnel,” the ministry said in a statement .

After the meeting, a joint press conference was held between the two ministers, and the two sides emphasized the depth of the historical relationship between the two neighboring countries and the two peoples. In the conference, it was announced that a specialized bilateral committee will be formed to discuss areas of bilateral health cooperation – treatment of patients and recruitment of medical teams to perform complex operations – cooperation of medical universities in the two countries in the field of medical and health education and teaching – coordination between the health parliamentary committees in the two countries to issue laws that support the health reality – bilateral educational cooperation for medical colleges and the Iraqi board – opening branches of medical sciences for Iranian universities in the holy city of Karbala.

Al-Hasnawi praised “the health cooperation between the two countries, stressing the keenness of Iraq and the Ministry of Health to continue cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples.”

The meeting, which was held at the ministry’s headquarters, was attended by a number of members of the Iranian Shura Council, in the presence of MP Siham al-Musawi, head of the Health and Environment Committee in the Iraqi parliament, and a number of officials in the ministry.

The Council of Ministers votes on creating job grades for contractors in all Ministries and including them in the budget

Baghdad The Council of Ministers voted in its session today to create job grades for contractors in all Ministries and include them in the 2023 budget.

The Council also voted to convert the contractors as daily wages into contracts in the formations belonging to the Ministry of Oil.

The Council of Ministers approved the creation of 3193 job grades to appoint contracts in the Electoral Commission.

The Council also voted in its session today to create 11,532 job degrees for the Ministry of Finance to appoint contracts for self-financing companies in the Ministry of Oil.

Baghdad The National Security Chancellery held a workshop on the demarcation of the maritime borders with Kuwait, headed by the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji.

The Chancellery stated in a statement, “The workshop witnessed a discussion of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti territorial water file, in all its aspects, as well as making the necessary recommendations and proposals in this regard, in addition to emphasizing the Iraqi sovereignty and right to demarcate the maritime borders, through dialogue and negotiation with neighboring Kuwait, in a way that guarantees the legal rights of the two countries.”

The workshop was attended by members of the House of Representatives representing the security and defense committees, transportation and communications, the office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, with the participation of specialists from the relevant government agencies and institutions.

Baghdad The Association of Iraqi Private Banks confirmed: “The government has taken many steps to limit the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar.”

The Association stated in a statement that it is “monitoring the recent rise in the exchange rate,” stressing that “the rise is a result of modifying the mechanism of the foreign currency sale window in the Central Bank of Iraq and according to the requirements of international transactions.”

It added, “The Iraqi government has taken measures related to the method of collecting tax and customs fees at the border crossings to encourage merchants to work directly with banks and to prevent double taxation.”

It pointed out that “the Central Bank of Iraq has also taken several measures that would limit the rise in the exchange rate,” pointing to “the Association’s support for government efforts and the efforts of the Central Bank of Iraq and the readiness of its banks to sell foreign currency to merchants wishing to open documentary credits at the official price for import purposes and invites merchants to benefit from that”.

It called for “the need for the media to play a positive role in raising awareness, and to stay away from undocumented news that contributes to undermining confidence in the Iraqi currency, financial and monetary policies, and Iraqi banks.”
