Najaf The Supreme Religious Authority, Mr. Ali Al-Sistani, received the delegation of the Council of Shiite Scholars in Afghanistan.

The head of the delegation presented to His Eminence a report on the current situation in his country and the performance of the Council.

During the meeting, the Grand Ayatollah Sistani said: “All Muslims and the global community must stand by the oppressed Afghan people and not leave them alone and spare no effort in providing assistance to them in order to contribute to reducing their suffering.”

He expressed his deep regret for what the Afghan people have suffered over the past decades, pointing to the atrocities that all people, especially women, are exposed to in Afghanistan, stressing: “Muslims and the global community should not leave the Afghan people alone in such circumstances and spare no effort to reduce their suffering.” .

He stressed the need to preserve unity, national solidarity, internal cohesion, and observance of peaceful coexistence with all nationalities and groups, stressing the avoidance of violence in dealing with the current rulers, stressing that the Council would do everything in its power to fulfill the rights of the Afghan people.

The Dutch government confirms strengthening constructive cooperation with Iraq, especially in the financial and investment aspects

Baghdad The Dutch government stressed the importance of strengthening constructive cooperation with Iraq, especially in the financial and investment aspects.

A statement by the Ministry of Finance stated that Finance Minister Taif Sami received, today, Tuesday, the Dutch Ambassador, Johannes Lindert, in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sami affirmed the strength of the cooperation relations between Iraq and the friendly Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the continuous development and growth they are witnessing in all fields, especially with regard to the financial and economic field.

The Minister of Finance indicated the importance of continuing to work on developing the horizons of cooperation and partnership, and pushing them towards more advanced levels, for the benefit and development of the two countries and their friendly peoples.

For his part, the Dutch ambassador expressed the aspiration of his country’s government to enhance the extent of constructive cooperation with Iraq, especially with regard to aspects of money, investment and contribution to sustainable development projects in the country.

The first for this year..the Council of Ministers holds its regular session and takes a number of decisions

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, chaired today, Tuesday, the first regular session of the Council of Ministers for this year, in which developments in the general situation throughout the country were discussed, and a number of vital issues and files were discussed, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda, and issuing decisions are in progress.

During the session, Al-Sudani referred to the most important service projects that the government intends to implement during this year, and stressed the government’s progress in implementing its government program, which includes goals and priorities in implementing vital projects, in various service sectors, in a way that contributes to addressing many problems that citizens have suffered from for years.

In the context of continuing to resolve the file of contract employees and daily workers working in the ministries of the state, the Cabinet approved the creation of job grades and including them in the draft federal budget law for the year 2023, in order to confirm contract employees and daily workers.

In continuation of the government’s effort to support the 25th Gulf Championship in Basra, and to provide the necessary facilities for it, the Council agreed to exempt the head of the Iraqi Media Network from the instructions for implementing government contracts (2 of 2014) to contract with the producing company for the television transmission of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, which will take place on January 6, 2023.

The Council of Ministers discussed the problem of retirees in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, and the reasons for not resolving their files despite the fact that many months have passed since their retirement, which caused great harm to this segment.

Capital Governor receives Egyptian ambassador

Manama, Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa received Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Yasser Mohammed Shaban.

They discussed ways of activating the friendship and cooperation agreement between the Capital Governorate and Cairo.

The Capital Governor underscored solid fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Egypt and the importance of exchanging visits in further strengthening them. He also lauded the efforts of the Egyptian ambassador in further cementing strategic relations between the two brotherly countries.

UoB President highlights university’s digital transformation

Manama, The University of Bahrain (UoB) has today organized a two-day remote workshop via video conference under the slogan “Transforming higher education with Microsoft”.

Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the College of Information Technology, Dr. Amal Muhammad Al-Rayes moderated the event which was attended by representatives from Microsoft, in addition to a number of deans, heads of departments and members of the academic staff.

Addressing the workshop, UoB President Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahki said that the national university has achieved great strides in meeting the requirements of digital transformation.

She noted that the workshop is in line with the UoB’s mission to become a world-class university as an educational, research and entrepreneurial institution, while aligning its objectives with the government’s action plan the 2030 Economic Vision.

She affirmed the university’s keenness on continuous cooperation with partners, stressed the importance of benefiting from Microsoft capabilities, which contributes to generating ideas and developing innovative education paths.

Country Manager, Microsoft Oman, Bahrain and Pakistani Sheikh Saif Hilal Al Hosni, stressed the need for quality and technology to provide effective solutions for students.

He underscored the importance of aligning the strategies of the university and the company to work on building and implementing a digital transformation plan over the coming years.

Minister of Oil: More than (115) billion dollars Achieved for the export of crude oil last year

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced that the total revenues generated from exporting crude oil for the past year 2022 amounted to more than (115) billion dollars.

He said in a statement by the ministry: The quantities exported of crude oil amounted to more than one billion and (209) million barrels, and the final outcome of the daily oil export rate was approximately (3) million and (320) thousand barrels per day.

He pointed out: The export operations were carried out according to studies of the oil market for companies of various nationalities, including (Chinese, Indian, South Korean, Turkish, Greek, American, British, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish and Dutch) and others, as well as other Arab companies.

Abdul-Ghani praised the efforts of the employees of the Ministry of Oil and its departments for these achieved achievements, which provided the federal budget with sums of money amounting to more than (115) billion dollars.

Industry minister meets with BCCI Food Sector Committee

Manama, Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro praised the key role of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in backing the development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He stressed the ministry’s keenness to boost cooperation with BCCI within the framework of partnership with the private sector to secure the needs of the local market and cater to the consumers’ demands.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce was speaking at a meeting with BCCI members at the chamber’s headquarters. The meeting was held in the presence of BCCI Chairman Sameer bin Abdullah Nass and his First Deputy Khalid Mohammed Najeebi. It was also attended by members of BCCI’s Food Sector Committee and more than 20 food traders representing many companies.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce pointed out the importance of promoting cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the importing companies of the food staff to ensure availability of diverse products in the local markets. He also underlined the importance of diversifying the importation sources for the sake of food security and to handle any imbalance in the international importation chains.

A number of food traders participating in the meeting noted a remarkable decrease in the prices of some basic commodities. They said that they look forward to more decrease and stability in the prices during the first quarter of this year.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce asserted sustainability of food security in Bahrain according to international indicators thanks to the efforts of the government in this regard.

Riyadh, The Portugalese player Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction with signing for Al Nassr club, appreciating the warm welcome accorded to him and his family upon arrival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo disclosed that he had rejected attractive offers from America, Australia and Brazil, as he preferred to play for Al Nassr club, looking forward to contributing to the development of Saudi football.

For his part, French coach Rudi José Garcia of Al-Nassr Club, expressed his happiness at training Cristiano Ronaldo, stressing that he and his fellow players will contribute to a more than wonderful performance, based on the player’s experience.

In turn, the president of Al Nassr Club, Musli Al Muammar, welcomed the best player in the world, stressing that Ronaldo’s numbers, achievements, and capabilities give him the right to obtain the highest salary for a football player, stressing at the same time that the player stipulated, before signing the contract, the same treatment that applies to the rest of his fellow players.

Speaker receives Health Minister

Manama, Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam expressed thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his keenness on to provide health services.

Receiving Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan, he praised efforts to improve the health system for citizens and residents.

He commended continued work to improve national ambulance service s and expand their coverage, noting the government’s rapid response to parliamentary demands to provide a fixed ambulance to serve the areas of Sitra, Aker, Ma’ameer and Nuwaidrat.

The Speaker expressed sincere condolences over the death of the Bahraini young man who passed away while practising sports in the Al-Aker area last week.

He stressed the need to study the causes of such accidents, and develop preventive solutions, stressing Parliament’s support for the Ministry of Health and the National Ambulance Center in order to continue developing health and treatment services.

KSrelief Concludes Voluntary Medical Campaign for Urology and Pediatric Surgery in Mukalla City, Yemen

Mukalla, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has concluded a voluntary medical campaign for urology and pediatric surgery in Mukalla City, Hadhramaut Governorate, Yemen, which ran from 25 to 31 December 2022, during which the center conducted 101 surgeries.

The campaign comes as an extension of the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, to all the Yemeni people to alleviate their suffering as a result of the humanitarian crisis they are experiencing.

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani stressed: the importance of achieving the main objectives of the Social Protection Law and benefiting from government support to reach the real beneficiaries.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said: Al-Sudani met today with the head and directors of the Social Protection Authority, in the presence of consultants.

During the meeting, he stressed the importance of achieving the main objectives of the Social Protection Law, and benefiting from government support to reach the real beneficiaries.

He stressed that the work and effectiveness of the Protection Authority is among the government’s priorities in its ministerial program, and that it will not allow this file to be used for any inhumane purpose, or to be subject to political exploitation.

Al-Sudani directed: to expand the inclusion of poor families who are eligible for social protection, indicating that the beneficiaries of social protection will receive a share of foodstuffs characterized by quantity and quality, starting from the current month of January.

The meeting touched on the allocations of the Social Protection Authority in the draft Social Protection Law for the year 2023 and emphasized securing the requirements of social researchers and providing all the means required for the success of their work.

He directed the ministry, state institutions, and governors to provide all forms of support to the Social Protection Authority and its departments and divisions in the governorates.
