Baghdad, The MP, Hadi Al-Salami announced the submission of a request to the presidency of Parliament, signed by more than 80 MPs, to host the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq regarding the repercussions of the high price of the dollar, but we were surprised that our request was rejected by the Presidency.

The PM directs the Ministry of Electricity to contract with sober international companies.

Baghdad, The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, instructed the Ministry of Electricity to contract with international companies.

A ministry statement quoted Electricity Minister Ziyad Ali Fadel as saying: The Prime Minister directed that the contracts of the Ministry of Electricity be with reputable international companies.

He added: Our ministry is preparing for this transformation and developing strategic plans to implement it.

He continued: The ministry will witness the signing of major international companies in the field of electricity.

The minister had signed an agreement with the German company Siemens on the sidelines of the Prime Minister’s visit to Germany.

A suspect who confessed to killing two of his brothers and injuring the third in Maysan arrested

Al-Amarah, The security forces arrested an accused who openly confessed to killing two of his brothers and wounding his third brother, in an incident that occurred in Qalaat Saleh district, south of the governorate.

Maysan Police Command said in a statement, of which the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) received a copy: “Immediately after the incident occurred, a joint security force was formed to investigate and collect information, which led to the pursuit and arrest of the perpetrator after a pursuit operation in one of the regions of the district.”

The leadership added that the accused confessed, during interrogation, to killing his two brothers using a pistol, and wounding his third brother in his left hand, due to family disputes and quarrels, noting that the necessary legal measures were taken against him, his statements were ratified and he was referred to the competent court.

Al-Sudani: The MoU with Siemens includes projects in the fields of production, transportation and distribution

Baghdad, The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, announced: “The memorandum of understanding with Siemens includes projects in the fields of production, transportation and distribution, followed by the signing of contracts in Baghdad.”

Al-Sudani said in statements to the German channel (DW): “Corruption was one of the most important factors in the failure to advance the electricity sector.”

He added: “The government’s direction is clear in combating corruption and putting money in the right place.”

Al-Sudani affirmed: “The government is ready to hold early elections if Parliament decides to hold them.

Al-Sudani added : “The early elections are the matter of the parliament and the political forces, and we have set in the ministerial program the holding of local elections in the tenth month as a deadline.”
