Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs assures his country’s solidarity with Syria to Minister Mikdad

Damascus-SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Miqdad, received this evening a phone call from Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, during which he conveyed the condolences and sympathy of the Mauritanian President and people to the Syrian government and people, and their solidarity with the families of the victims and those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria.

Ould Marzouk expressed feelings of sadness and grief, showing support of the Mauritanian government over this humanitarian catastrophe and the victims Syria lost as a result.

In turn, Mikdad expressed his thanks for the high solidarity expressed by Mauritania and its leadership towards Syria in its ordeal, noting the depth of relations binding the two countries and Syria’s aspiration to develop cooperation with the brothers in Mauritania in a way that serves the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup Kicks Off in Diriyah

Riyadh– The 2023 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) BMX Freestyle World Cup kicked off today at the Elite Sports Center Arena as part of the qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Being held for the first time in the Middle East, the event is part of the activities of the second edition of the Diriyah Season, from February 10 to 18.

The Organizing Committee of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup succeeded in designing and constructing the Elite Sports Center Arena in the historic Diriyah within 27 days and an average of 18 hours per day, with the participation of 25 technicians and specialized workers from France and Belgium who participated in the construction and design of the venue, as well as 20 technicians and specialized workers from Saudi Arabia.

The arena is 55m in length, 35m in width. It includes 150 seats in the VIP section, and 500 seats in the public section, while the associated events area can accommodate more than 10,000 visitors.
