BOU HABIB HOLDS TALKS WITH US CONGRESS ADVISERS, AMBASSADORS

Caretaker Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, held talks on Monday with a number of advisers to the US Congress, over the Syrian refugees’ file and the related challenges facing Lebanon.

Talks also touched on the US-Lebanese bilateral relations.

Bou Habib later met with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, over the bilateral ties and the UN draft resolution on Ukraine.

The Minister also met today with Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon, Stefanie McCollum, with whom he discussed the bilateral relations and the Syrian refugees’ dossier.

Moreover, Bou Habib discussed the bilateral ties with UK’s Deputy Head of Mission to Lebanon, Camilla Nickless.

ARCHBISHOP DAHER VISITS LEBANESE EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON

Melkite Catholic Archbishop of Tripoli and the North, Edouard Daher, visited the Lebanese Embassy in Washington, and met with Chargé d’Affaires Wael Hashem.

The pair reportedly discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the condition of the Lebanese diaspora in Washington.

/52/ suspects and wanted persons arrested in Wasit within 24 hours

Kut, Wasit Police Command announced the arrest of 52 suspects and wanted persons within 24 hours, in a security operation carried out in separate areas of the province.

A Police source in Wasit told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that during the operation, 370 traffic fines were imposed for violating vehicles, and legal measures were taken against the accused and referred to the judiciary.

An Associate Killed And Another Wounded… A Drug Dealer Was Arrested In Baghdad

Baghdad, The Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced the arrest of a drug dealer in Baghdad.

The agency stated in a statement: “The drug dealer was arrested in a tight ambush on the Rusafa side of Baghdad,” indicating that “he used offensive hand grenades after he was surrounded, which led to the death of the hero (Dia Hamed Haider), and the serious injury of a member of the work team.

Al-Sudani receives the Sultan of the Bohra sect in India

Baghdad, The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, received today, Monday, the Sultan of the Bohra sect in India, Dr. Mufaddal Saif Al-Din, and his accompanying delegation.

Al-Sudani welcomed the guest delegation, stressing that Iraq has a real wealth represented in the rich religious and ethnic diversity, which is a feature of this people that made it open to all peoples of the world and their cultures, and adopting the values of constructive dialogue among religions and sects.

The Prime Minister said that Iraq welcomes noble cultural and human communication, and has adopted the discourse of moderation and rapprochement in the face of hate speech and extremism, as a path to consolidate peace and coexistence throughout the region and the world.

For his part, the Sultan of the Bohra sect expressed his thanks for the hospitality and reception, expressing his pride in visiting Iraq, the land of prophets and guardians, and the center of cultural and religious diversity.

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets EU Commissioner for Crisis Management

Riyadh– Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Affairs Envoy Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir met here today with Janez Lenarcic, European Union (EU) Commissioner for Crisis Management, on the sidelines of the 3rd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.

During the meeting, aspects of the existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the EU were reviewed. They also talked about climate change and its effects while highlighting the importance of tackling this phenomenon as well as the Kingdom’s efforts and initiatives in this area. They also discussed the most significant issues on the forum’s agenda.

SDRPY Participates in Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum

Riyadh– The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) is participating in the Third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum (RIHF3) to highlight Saudi efforts in the development of Yemen and to promote an interdependent approach between humanitarian work, development, and peace to achieve sustainable development.

SDRPY’s participation in RIHF3 includes an introductory pavilion showcasing the program’s pioneering development projects and initiatives throughout Yemen. The pavilion features videos displaying SDRPY’s development projects and initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of Yemeni citizens and have contributed to the strengthening of the Yemeni economy, providing direct and indirect job opportunities. Additionally, the pavilion provides pamphlets and brochures about the program and distributes souvenirs.

The pavilion also provides an introduction for visitors and participants from international organizations, donors, workers, and researchers in the humanitarian and development field, as well as several television channels and media outlets about the program’s development projects and initiatives in Yemen.

SDRPY has implemented 224 projects and development initiatives in various Yemeni regions, serving citizens in seven key sectors, including education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, capacity building of government institutions, and development programs.

SDRPY’s projects and initiatives in the energy sector include 29 projects and development initiatives. Among these 29 projects, 3 are initiatives to improve energy efficiency and operational capacity and promote the use of clean energy.

During the meeting, aspects of the existing cooperation between the two countries were reviewed. They also reviewed several issues of common interest and discussed the most significant issues on the forum’s agenda.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud Receives Interior Minister of Albania

Riyadh– Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia, met here today with the Interior Minister of Albania, Bledar Cuçi.

During the meeting, they reviewed ways of enhancing security cooperation between the two countries.

The Saudi government and the Council of Ministers in Albania signed an agreement to cooperate in combating crime.

The meeting was attended by several officials from both countries.

Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Meets with Several Delegations of International Organizations

Riyadh– Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and Supervisor General of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY), met here today with representatives from different organizations in Riyadh. They included the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), the Chief Advancement Officer at the International Medical Corps (IMC), and the Director of the Humanitarian Projects Department at the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD).

During the meeting, they discussed the Saudi government’s efforts to support Yemen through development projects aimed at improving living conditions and meeting emergency needs. This work contributes to supporting the Yemeni government and institutions, as well as the Yemeni people, to achieve sustainable development and improve the living conditions of Yemeni citizens.

The meeting also covered the Saudi government’s support for Yemen, as well as the SPDRY’s initiatives in seven key sectors, including education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, and fisheries. These programs have contributed to strengthening the Yemeni economy, providing job opportunities, and improving daily life in Yemen.

President of HRC Meets with Director General of IOM

Riyadh– The President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC), Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, met here today with the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), António Vitorino, on the sidelines of the third session of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.

During the meeting, they reviewed cooperation relations and ways to enhance them, including the constructive cooperation between the HRC and the IOM represented by signing the implementation of the second phase of the project to strengthen the Kingdom’s efforts in the field of protecting victims of human trafficking crimes, to unify response efforts in combating these crimes.

They also discussed a number of issues of common interest in the field of human rights and combating human trafficking crimes.
