Foreign Minister meets Jordan Deputy Prime Minister

Cairo, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani today met in Cairo Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ayman Al Safadi, on the sidelines of the Arab League meeting at the level of ministers.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed strong historic relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan across all fields.

They also discussed ways of furthering joint cooperation to in a way that serves common interests between the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to regional developments and issues of common concern.

Future of Education, Science, and Culture International Organizations Forum Concludes First Day’s Sessions

Riyadh, The Future of Education, Science, and Culture International Organizations Forum (FESCIOF), held in Riyadh under the slogan, “Together for Impact in the 21st Century,” concluded the first day of its works with a panel session titled, “Sustainability in the Future of Education.”

The panel session featured Abdullah Al-Qataee, Executive Director of the National Center for Assessment; Asha Kanwar, CEO of Commonwealth of Learning; Rami Iskander, Director of the Education Department at the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization; and Mathieu Denis, Head of the Centre for Science Futures at the International Science Council.

The participants discussed various topics, including quality assurance mechanisms for the new curriculum, the role of the private sector in education, remapping the future education sector, and international cooperation on the “green transition.”

They also discussed ways of furthering joint cooperation to in a way that serves common interests between the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to issues of common concern.

159th Session of Arab League Council at Level of Foreign Ministers Kicks off

Cairo, The 159th session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, presided over by Egypt, commenced today in the presence of Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and with the participation of Arab foreign ministers and their representatives.

The delegation for the meeting from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was led by Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Multi-International Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi.

The ministerial meeting will go over the agenda, which has (9) key topics, including a number of political, economic, social, legal, financial, and administrative issues. The report of the Secretary General of the Arab League between the two sessions (158-159), in particular, will be discussed. The meeting will also review a draft agenda of the Arab summit’s regular session (32) to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Information Minister receives amended draft statute of Gulf Press Union

Manama, Minister of Information, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, received today Chairman of Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), Secretary General of the Gulf Press Union, Isa Al Shaiji, who presented him with the amended draft statute of the Gulf Press Union after its approval by Chairmen of the Gulf press associations during the meetings held recently in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Minister of Information commended the role of the Gulf Press Union in unifying the Gulf media discourse so as to boost the development achievements in the GCC member states. He stressed keenness of the Ministry of Information on supporting the union in its endeavor to develop its work mechanisms and promoting fraternal relations between the GCC countries.

Al Shaiji conveyed to the Minister of Information the greetings and appreciation of the Chairmen of the Gulf press associations for the kingdom’s hosting of the Gulf Press Union headquarters and the unflinching support accorded by the Ministry of Information to the union.

Southern Governor attends Bahrain Bayan School’s awareness week

Manama, Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa participated in the vocational awareness week “Guiding Future Generations”, which was held at the Bahrain Bayan School.

The event aims at enhancing community partnership and communicating with students in a direct meeting, in the presence of a number of senior as well as the educational and administrative staff.

The Governor noted that education represents a top priority in the development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He stressed the Governorate’s commitment to community partnership, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior of Interior Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

Bahrain Bayan School Board of Trustees’ Deputy Chairperson Shaikha Aseel bint Khalifa Al Khalifa then honouted the Southern Governor was honoured for participating the event.

The FM Discusses With His Jordanian Counterpart Holding The Tripartite Summit Between Iraq, Jordan And Egypt

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of his participation in the 159th ministerial session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, which is being held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

The two sides praised, according to a statement by the ministry, the qualitative development witnessed by the bilateral relations between Iraq and Jordan in all fields.

The statement added: “The two parties exchanged visions and ideas on various files of common interest, and they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation frameworks at various levels.”

The meeting also witnessed the discussion of the tripartite summit between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt.

Deputy Chief of Public Security attends graduation ceremony

Manama, Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has attended a graduation ceremony for a number of training courses that were held at the Maritime Training Wing of the Coast Guard. The courses targeted personnel from the Interior Ministry and Royal Bahrain Naval Force, along with participants from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

On this occasion, the Deputy Chief of Public Security praised the level and performance of the graduates, explaining that these courses are considered a major part of the development and modernization strategy launched by the Minister of Interior with the aim of upgrading the leadership of the Coast Guard and developing its cadres. He expressed thanks to the Chief of Public Security for his follow-up. At the end of the event, the Deputy Chief presented certificates to the participants.

FM heads the Iraqi delegation to the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level

Baghdad The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, headed the Iraqi delegation participating in the meeting of the 159th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers, with the membership of Ahmed Nayef Rashid al-Dulaimi, Iraq’s ambassador to Cairo, its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, and Osama Mahdi Ghanem, head of the Arab Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, today, Wednesday.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the agenda included a number of political, security, economic and social items, and views were exchanged, and a consensual position was developed towards them. The meeting also touched on developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas, and files of common interest.

PM meets the heads of service departments in Diyala, stresses the importance of giving priority to infrastructure projects

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, met with the heads of service departments in Diyala.

During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of giving priority to infrastructure projects.

The Prime Minister directed to remove administrative obstacles and abuses that impede the completion of lagging projects.

An assassination attempt on the son of a judge who was assassinated years ago in Kirkuk

Kirkuk The engineer, Imad Ahmed Al-Bayati, was injured in an armed attack, south of Kirkuk.

A security source said: “Unidentified gunmen opened fire on Al-Bayati when he was in his car near Daquq district, which led to his injuries, after which he was transferred to the hospital.”

It is noteworthy that the engineer, Imad, is the son of the personal status judge, Ahmed Al-Bayati, who was assassinated in 2013.

Turkish MoD announces the killing of two PKK militants in northern Iraq

Istanbul The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of two PKK militants (the Kurdistan Workers’ Party) as part of the ongoing “Claw Lock” operation in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement today, Wednesday, that units of the Turkish army in charge of Operation Claw Lock monitored movements of Kurdish militants in the areas of Hakurk, taking advantage of the bad weather, and launched armed operations during which they managed to kill two militants of the PKK in northern Iraq and seize their weapons.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish army carried out a large-scale military operation on April 18 of last year, and it is still ongoing, against the strongholds of the PKK in the regions of Matina, Al-Zab, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq.
