Turkish MoD announces the killing of two PKK militants in northern Iraq

Istanbul The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of two PKK militants (the Kurdistan Workers’ Party) as part of the ongoing “Claw Lock” operation in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement today, Wednesday, that units of the Turkish army in charge of Operation Claw Lock monitored movements of Kurdish militants in the areas of Hakurk, taking advantage of the bad weather, and launched armed operations during which they managed to kill two militants of the PKK in northern Iraq and seize their weapons.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish army carried out a large-scale military operation on April 18 of last year, and it is still ongoing, against the strongholds of the PKK in the regions of Matina, Al-Zab, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq.
